In the year 1996, the Soshiki, the secret organization led by Abel that worshipped the Toshin, was crushed at the hands of the team of good, led by Eiji Shinjo. With both the Soshiki and the old Himitsu Kessha destroyed, what was known only to the fighters of the tournaments became only the stuff of a legend. It seemed now that there would never be another Toshindaibukai tournament, and the world would be safe from evil. However, someone wants to change all that...
It is now the year 2006. Eiji Shinjo has learned of an old legend telling of the mighty relics of legend, the 'Four Sacred Weapons' [Shiseibugu] -- Seiryu no Yari, the Blue Dragon Spear; Suzaku no Yumi, the Phoenix's Bow; Genbu no Tate, the Snake's Shield; and Byakko no Tachi, the White Tiger Sword. All named after the four directional gods of Chinese mythology. It is rumoured that whoever assembles all four weapons will receive great divine power--enough to fulfill any of their wishes, even the corrupted ones. Eiji wants to find and assemble these weapons, as he wishes to use the power for good. He is visited in Aizu by an emissary of an organization one day, and since he was the previous winner of the Toshindaibukai, he was been offered the position of the Master of the Gerard Foundation, a reborn organization that used to go by the secret name of "Himitsu Kessha". There has apparently been a coup d'etat among the members of the Shitennou, after the original Master disappeared. This conflict could lead to a worldwide war. Not wishing for any more harm to come to the world, as well as learning that he can use its powers for peace and its resources for finding out more about the Four Sacred Weapons, Eiji takes up the head position in the formerly dark organization. But he is shocked when he hears that someone evil is out to assemble the weapons and use the power to destroy the world. Eiji, as the Master, decides to host a new Toshindaibukai -- to search out and assemble the Four Sacred Weapons. Eiji knows he has to gather the weapons before the evil opposition does, as he has to seal its power before it can be used for evil purposes. Thus, the Toshindaibukai is reopened, with three groups of three-man teams that Eiji selected himself, since they all are led by a warrior wielding one of the weapons -- including his own student and adopted little brother, Subaru, who is carrying the very sword Eiji left behind for him, the Byakko no Tachi. Knowing that everyone is in danger again, Eiji - now the coldhearted and frightening Master - enters the tournament as well with two of his executives, putting everything on the line as he attempts to gather the remaining weapons from each of the teams...but will he be able to before evil gets ahold of them instead, or is HE the true evil...?
