In katakana, doubling vowels is simple, so long as you remember this one rule. Any and all
doubled vowels are written with a single straight line. For example:
| KONPYUUTAA (computer): |        |
| BIIRU (beer): |    |
| KUUGAA (cougar): |     |
This rule holds for all doubled vowel sounds in katakana. So be careful to avoid writing
the katakana vowel where the
should be.
