You were standing by the lake I remember the smile I liked to make Upon your lips, so soft and full The music of your laugh As we chose another path I touch your face, with a whisper of, "Beautiful"
I ran my fingers through your hair When it got messed-up, you didn’t care Your sparkling hazel eyes made mine seem dull And we lay upon the grass so green You ask me what I’m thinking I look down over your face, with a murmur of "Beautiful"
You kiss my lips so gently And it hard to believe that you’re with me You ask about my hesitation like this Not a word escapes my lips Asking why dreams cannot exist My eyes open to the cruel loneliness
So now only as I dream It’s the only time I see My one and only beautiful |
