A fear stumbling through the darkness, hoping to find its way back to its feet. So near to the top, but slipping back because it’s too steep.
Perhaps there’s a hint of strength in this paranoia... Then again, who can tell, being so lost and alone. So many would turn back, but Pride pushes you on. A sudden blast of lightning makes your body turn to stone.
An ice unidentified, so cold it could burn, Attacks the unknowing, making them wish they had never learned.
The heavens growl above you, sending another chain of electricity. If only you knew that you had the Gods’ pity.
You feel a presence lurking behind every tree. If only you knew that it was nothing you’d be able to see. The killer of the dead, slaughtering the souls of the living, Whoever felt its presence would never quite their quivering.
Sure, people call you insane, But are they really sure? Can they not see your cleverness As you run from the forthcoming danger?
Because they’re too busy with their own "important business" Hah ha, but they do not see. The real danger that will end their happiness Is really found in me.
So, the panic that came out from your scream... It was the shadow grinning as it possessed me. Do not let the fear grow stronger, it’s only a waste of time. Do not let panic overcome you, it’s only a waste of mind. Do not fight the urge, let curiosity draw you near Only as you approach me can you finally give in to your fear. |
