History....
Kodachi Kuno, as you are no doubt aware, is a character in the Japanese manga / anime series Ranma 1/2. With a locker full of dangerous gases and deadly weaponry (both of which she is proficient as using), Kodachi is about as close as Ranma gets to a villainess. She's one of the liveliest and most interesting characters on the series, as well as one of the most despised by fans and other cast members alike. Appearing in only a small number of the Japanese manga volumes (and somewhat more of the anime), Kodachi cheats, paralyzes, and scenery-chews her way to Ranma-sama. That scares some people. That also makes her a lot of fun for those who like a little twist in their entertainment. ^_-
There -- at a point on the border between fandom and fanboydom -- is where the LOR comes in. It is a faction born on the Ranma Mailing List and dedicated to spreading the gospel of the Black Rose. The ML is a forum for fans of the series to share their thoughts, opinions, and so on, like a newsgroup delivered to your e-mailbox. The factions were created simply so that fans of a particular character or idea could band together to support them / it. Some factions, such as the Knights of the True Fiance, allow anyone to join, not just people on the ML. The Loyal Order of the Ribbon is such a faction, if only because Kodachi needs all the support she can get. ^_^
