Prototype of the Eva series Unit-00 Was the first success in the Eva project. However on its first acivation test it went beserk and tried to destroy everthing thing around itself. Piloted by Rei Ayanami It is often thought that the Eva may actully be insane and this is the reason for its constant fits of rage. Originally orange it was repainted cobolt blue after suffering sever damage at the hands of the 5th angel. .
