OZ夢想國

OZ is an anime originated from Natsumi Itsuki's manga of the same name. It is a story that searches for the definition of humanity in the world that has already been corrupted by the misuse of highly advanced technology. Named after "The Wizard of Oz", the characters carried the same kind of hope searching for this place, which (they thought) would bring them happiness. They were, however, disappointed in the same manner as Dorothy and her friends once they realized the difference between the reality and their dreams. With outstanding drawing styles, Natsumi Itsuki explores this world of wonders with action, romance, friendship, and human dignity. The determinant of humanity is not the structure of the physical body, which consists of tear that falls and blood that flows, but what's inside the heart. Same as many movies that are animated from manga, OZ has not explain the theme of the original story thoroughly. Just like Please Save My Earth, the story itself is far too complicated than the anime can handle, hence, they are left with many loose ends. This is one of the reasons that I have not made a feature presentation out of it in AnimeXpress, despite my love of the manga itself.
