Is a story not of my own unfortunately, nor is it a fantasy story. But an emotional story of an Anime series called Kanon... a series that takes us back to our childhood friends, memories and what one can remember of whom we were and how we've changed...

An almost typical anime with one male and many females around him that we'd all like to think they love him, but after watching the first eight episodes of a thirteen episode tv series with one special. I'm really glad I didn't disregard it as another Tenchi Muyo wanna be, in fact I was totally wrong. For the series Kanon... I think is categorized under Shoujo and I was deeply moved by such a simple title. Kanon starts off with a male character whom we see waiting for a female on a bench covered in snow, trying to warm his hands while looking into his hands. His first words out of his mouth is... "You're late" just as we see him raise his head up looking into a female respond to his words, "The snow's piled up on you" which the male with a grin casually replies though definitely sarcastic... "Well, I've been waiting for 2 hours now." After a brief excuse from the female of being late and with him still joking around, she gives him a hot coffee drink to make up for being late and to celebrate a reunion between them. The male smugly answers, "I haven't seen you in 7 years and all I get is a can of coffee?" In which she replies, "Oh yeah, it's been 7 years already. Hey, do you still remember my name?" The male smiles and sort of not answers directly ask in return, "You're one to talk, do you remember my name?" The female smiles and with excitement answers, "Yup! Yu-u-i-ichi." Yuuichi then gets up while brushing off snow from his hair and backpack and says as he starts to walk, "Well, let's get going." The female chases after and calls out, "Hey! My Name!" Yuuichi stops and turns his head with a confident smile with a reply. "Let's go, Nayuki!" and this is the beginning of episode one... titled. "The Girl of Snow"

The first episode explains here and there of why Yuuichi Aizawa is there revisiting Nayuki Minase his cousin and why he's staying at their place for the time being. We're also introduced to Nayuki's mother, Akiko Minase whom welcomes Yuuichi into her house warmly. The story starts from there as each day Yuuichi starts to become part of their family as time passes to various places that he goes to in revisiting areas from which he vaguely remembers from his childhood memories which were suddenly resurfacing. Memories of which he thought were long gone with first a red hairband in which he found in his packing but doesn't remembering packing it with him... In episode two, we meet Ayu Tsukimiya which I assume is Yuuichi's childhood love interest since she wears the same identical red hairband, but not quite entirely convinced since Yuuichi's memories isn't fully recovered and she doesn't quite reveal much either. Though she does refer to him as Yuuichi-kun... which usually means a close friend or more. In the last few minutes of episode two, we get to see a strange box following Yuuichi through the market. Just before the episode ends the box talks and is revealed to be a female's voice, "I finally found you! I won't forgive you!" Yuuichi quite shocked and surprised answers, "Who are you?! I don't remember angering anyone." The box with the female voice continues, "You might not remember, but I do!" and with that the box is flipped into the air to reveal a kawaii female with red ribbons in her hair. "Now I will finally have my revenge after all these years. Prepare yourself!"

Thus ends the second episode of Kanon which is quite interesting, as so far the series shows the good points of being away from a city that you're once was raised in to revisiting those whom you once met or have known once again. As well as the past catching up in reminders of things that which was left behind aren't forgotten and still remembered with the passage of time and growth. Other characters that show up in the series are the following, which I'll also repeat on some I've already mentioned up above with more information:

Mai Kawasumi - appears in episode three but we don't know her name until episode four when her best friend Kurata Sayuri asks her to introduce herself to Yuuichi. Mai is a quiet, not out spoken swords lady who attends the same school with both Yuuichi and Nayuki but is in the third year. She hunts demons at school during the night and is considered a trouble maker for she gets blamed for causing problem after problems from a lot of unexplained occurences at school.

Sayuri Kurata - appears in episode four and is best friends since the first day of school with Mai Kawasumi. She is the only one that Mai actually responds to and spends time with... especially during lunch. She has the potential to become part of the student council but refuses for she has more important matters such as believing and wanting to do something to help Mai Kawasumi.

Shiori Misaka - appears in episode two as a shy freshmen student who attends the same school as Yuuichi and is often seen lingering around the school yard in watching her sister from afar. She tells Yuuichi that she's sick with a cold and is taking some rest away from school...

Kaori Misaka - is introduced in episode two when Nayuki attends school and is a best friend to Nayuki who teases Yuuichi and his cousin Nayuki that they get along really well together almost as though they're together... Kaori also claims that she has no sister or any relatives when Yuuichi mentions Misaka is an uncommon last name and wonders if she has a sister... which I think is Shiori...

Kitagawa - appears in episode two and is a guy who sits behind Yuuichi, a charming student who likes to help new transfers I guess. But seemingly has an interest in Misaka Kaori... in several cases he's more than obvious that he likes her in the least...

Makoto Sawatari - appears at the end of episode two but isn't introduced to have a name until much later into the series, for she claims she can't remember for the longest time. But seemingly remembers only in hating Yuuichi for something he's done in the past and with her amnesia, she doesn't provide much help. Whenever she sees his face she though does get easily angered... but other than that, her origin is mysterious and often assumed that she's a runaway or an abandoned child.

Ayu Tsukimiya - appears in episode one when Yuuichi is asked by Akiko-san to go to the market to pick up lunch and runs into Nayuki. She tells him to wait for her as Yuuichi doesn't know the area well to go buy lunch. When suddenly a running female heading right at him literally screams, "You over there! Get out of the way! Out of the way! Out of the way!" and slides on the ice-covered floor can't quite stopping before her face smacks right into Yuuichi's chest. Ayu is quite a daring female for she's introduced to be a quick run and nab sort of thief, sort of explains why she couldn't stop from running. Ayu is also quite distinct for she has these cute angel wings on the back of her backpack and always wears the red headband an item that was given by someone who was important to her... perhaps her childhood lover...?

Nayuki Minase - appears in the first episode with our main male of the series and is our second main character who is cousin to Yuuichi... she seemingly cares for him a lot and quite often the two are assumed to be a couple. She always wants him to be around her and when she sees him with another female with is usually Ayu she quickly gets jealous and runs away hiding her own feelings and emotions...

Akiko Minase - the mother of Nayuki Minase, takes care of Yuuichi while he's staying at her house and provides cooking and numerous other things. From helping him with the many females that seemingly know Yuuichi that she meets and various other reminders of the past, she considers Yuuichi to be more family than he think he is. She seems to also remember and know Ayu by the way she addresses her as Ayu-chan... I'm guessing there's to be a story told there as well...

Amano Mishio - appears in episode ten when she approaches Yuuichi and reveals there's something disturbing in regards to Sawatari Makoto... as her past is revealed...
