Mixxzine Vs. Anime

At last! I finally got my first issue of Mixxzine (translated manga)! Of course I only read the Sailor Moon part of it. There are many differences between the two.

A Moonstar is Born

The Story starts when Serena (called "Bunny" in here) is running late for school...again. She trips over this mysterious cat, and sees that she is shaking and hurt (yes she still has that band-aid on her forehead). Bunny kisses the cat, but the poor thing just scratches Bunny's face. She was pretty cool about it though. So Bunny notices the band-aid and removes it. A crescent on the cat's forehead is shown. She hears the school bell ring and runs to class. (The school is named Crossroads). After Miss Haruna (her teacher) yells at her, first for being late then getting a lousy score on a quiz (30), Molly and Melvin appear. Melvin brags about his "95" and Molly is depressed that she got a lower score than him (85).

At lunchtime, the girls are talking about a jewelry store robbery and that Sailor V 'nabbed the thieves.' "Sailor V?' Bunny says. "you haven't heard of her?! Defending against justice in a school-girl uniform!" Melvin states, "Some say she's really just an under cover cop." Then the other girls gush about jewelry and diamonds, giving Bunny and idea. She plans to go to Molly's mother's jewelry store with her after school to check out pearls. Molly states that there is a huge sale and invites everyone else to come along.

At the store, the girls drool over the jewelry and hope that their daddy will buy them some because of their good test scores. Molly's 'mother' thinks to herself: "Give me all your energy. I need more...more." Bunny loses hope of getting new jewelry (30!) and crumbles her test paper and starts to head home. But the failed quiz lands on the face of a gorgeous guy in a tuxedo wearing shades (WE ALL KNOW WHO HE IS ^_~*)!!

"Thanks a lot, Cow-tails!" he says, "Right in my face. Try a wastebasket next time." (I personally like meat-ball head better)
Bunny: These are not "cow-tails," they're called "pig-tails" stupid. PIG-TAILS!
Tuxie: (Looks at the test) 30? Who's calling who stupid, pig-tails. (throws the test back at her face, and she runs off screaming)
Bunny: I'VE HAD ENOUGH!..What's the deal with that guy?...A tuxedo?....he thinks he's so cool.
Tuxie: (Looking good here) Hmmmm...a rather large jewelry store. Maybe I can find it here.....the Silver Imperium Crystal.

So, Bunny reluctantly heads home, not wanting to show her mother the quiz. She walks past the video game store and sees a poster for Sailor V. She walks in and plays "just one little game." Just then, Andrew comes in and compliments Bunny on her game playing. She gushes over how cute he his...of course. Then there was a meow in the corner.

Bunny: It's you! The cute cat from this morning. Wanna play a video game?
Andrew: That cat's been hangin' out here for a few days now.
Bunny: Ha ha ha...Look! He's got a crescent moon BALD SPOT!
Cat: (...glare)

Later, Bunny goes home and reluctantly shows her mother the 30. "With these kinds of grades...Don't even bother coming home!" And poor Bunny got locked out of the house...and kicked on by her little brother, Sammy, for getting "mom all ticked off again!" Her mother finally let her in, after she was kicking and screaming outside.

Then we see a masked man in a tux at the jewelry store. Molly's 'mother' has collected all the energy from her customers. Back at the Tsukino house, Bunny falls asleep instead of doing her homework. Something scratches her face.

Cat: It's not a bald spot! What a rude thing to say.
Bunny:.......This cat talks?!
Cat: I've been searching for you, Bunny. My name is Luna.....I'm glad I found you!
Bunny: Good night! It's a dream...a dream.
Luna: Bunny this is not a dream! OK...I'll prove it to you.

Luna gives Bunny a crescent brooch and tells her that she is a chosen warrior. It is her mission to find her team and defeat the enemy...then search for their queen and.....The brooch glows. "You still don't believe what I'm saying? Yell out, MOON PRISM POWER....MAKE UP!" (YES!! They say 'make up'!) POOF! Bunny becomes a Sailor V look-a-like...with mask and all. She takes off her mask and sees that Molly is in trouble. Her real mother is locked in the basement....some nega-monster is attacking her (duh!). (A clip of a the masked man). Then Bunny comes in. (Another clip).

Monster: And who are you?
Bunny: Me? Um...I'm...um..(Luna meows at the moon) A Champion of Justice and Defender Against Evil!...SAILOR MOON!

Puzzled, the monster summons the people who lost energy to attack Sailor Moon. She falls, and starts to cry. Then something starts flying around making loud pings. "Don't cry Sailor Moon! Now's your chance!" Luna tells Bunny to throw her tiara saying "FRISBEE." She does so, turning the moster into dust. A familiar voice is heard...
"I didn't find the SILVER IMPERIUM CRYSTAL here...however I enjoyed the show."
The man in the mask and tux leaps into the air, flaring his cape.

Tux: (looking beyond gorgeous) My name is Tuxedo Mask...I won't forget you, Sailor Moon.
Sailor Moon: What a mysterious guy...like a count or something...(hearts in her eyes)...COOL...

Luna congrats Bunny on her victory, but she is still on 'cloud nine' (who wouldn't be..*ahem*). We then see a general plotting his next attempt to get the crystal. (This is Jadeite and he actually looks good here).

The next day, Molly tells the girls that she was saved by Sailor V's partner. "If I hadn't passed out then, I would have seen her face!" The girls tell her that she was only dreaming. Bunny whines.."It seems that it wasn't a dream!" ^_~*
