The Arayashiki are representative of the eastern powers, and practice various forms of shamanic magic in tune with the theory of the Tao (Yin and Yang). Most of the members of this group seem to primarily represent Japanese and Chinese mystics. |
| There also seem connections between the Arayashiki and
certain eastern religions and philosophies. They quite literally hide in
plain sight, as in Japan and China, where monks and shrine-keepers are
a relatively ordinary sight. Typical Arayashiki skills include the ability
to commune with spirits and nature, all inclined towards the Eastern forms
of magic (such as onmyoujitsu). Some are even skilled with martial arts
of varying types, as well as Eastern (particularly Japanese) archaic weaponry.
The Arayashiki are highly traditionalist, and clash constantly with their
direct western opposite, the WIZ-DOM.
Further observation and research shows that the Arayashiki seem to be the most tightly-knit and communal of the factions, at least those seen in Japan. They seem to work much like a tribe or clan, with a leader in each prefecture. This may be due to the very group-oriented, community-focused culture of asian people. The Buddhist definition of Arayashiki. A bit confusing, though. |

Is it possible that some of the anti-western religious cults of China during
the Boxer rebellion were Arayashiki cults? It was often believed that members
of the White Lotus Cult possessed unearthly powers, among them the ability
to stop bullets. (Not that it helped them; Western powers still invaded
China).
* Many Chinese and Japanese folk heroes were said to have had strange abilities and powers. While it may be too much of a stretch to think of them as possible Arayashiki members, it's noted that these heroes also happened to have fought Westerners that were invading their lands. |
