Return of Evil
by Lady Jupiter
The acid rain continued to pound down, scorching the plants
that managed to escape death. Almost everything on this planet
was dead of near death. The remaining plants, under the shelter
of the ruins were half dead with thrist, no doubt they will be
dead in a couple of days. Fallen pillars were everywhere,
telling that there use to be civilization, a very long time
ago.
A small pebble tumbled down from a mountain of debris. The
first movement on that planet in ten years. Another pebble
followed. A rock the size of a tennis ball rolled down. More
and more, faster and fast, more debris tumbled down.
At the top of the mound of debris, a calloused hand rose.
Followed by an arm, the shoulder, and the rest of the body.
The man stood at the top of the mound, ignoring the burning
rain, the grains of sand seeping into his worn and tattered
clothes. He had beaten the rain, the sand, the merciless
weather before. Now, it was a part of him. It didn't
bother him that the grains of sand was wearing at his skin
like sand paper. No, it didn't bother him one bit.
He coughed, his throat dry from centuries of not using it.
He took a look around and laughed. He laughed at the ruins,
he laughed at the lack of life.
"I told you I would have done better!" the man shouted
insanely at the sky. His voice was dry, brittle and cracking.
He jumped down from the debris mound onto the dry, cracked
dirt. A small weed was seeking life from a crack in the dirt.
He bent down and plucked the weed from the crack and held
it in his hand. Slowly, the weed wilted, turning brown, dry
and then into ash. The wind blew the ashes of the weed into
the sandstorm.
"I know you are alive. I know you have survived this,
despite the fact that your parents did not. I'm coming
for you, I can guarantee that. No use hiding, I'm
coming." The man said, his eyes a cold grey, almost metalic
silver. He looked at his clothes. They were tattered, old,
out of style, and well worn.
The clothes slowly began to mend themselves, melting into
something more modern. A sports suit. The man smoothed his
hair down and took another look at himself.
"I'm coming. And you thought you were rid of me!" He
laughed insanely again. In a flicker of a flame, he dissapeared
from where he stood.

Greg bolted upright in his bed. He had another vision. This
time, it was more violent than ever. It was more intense than
a nightmare. He waited until his heartrate returned to normal,
then looked around. It was barely sunrise, no one sane was
awake yet.
He closed his eyes, replaying what he had seen. He saw
a man, a dark annonymous figure. Something about the figure
told him it was evil. He couldn't put the thoughts into pictures
or words. It was more of a feeling. He could never explain
his visions to anyone. It was too hard to be spoken. It had
been a mystery the first times he had the visions, he didn't
know what it meant, but now, he had learned to master
them and decode them for himeself.
Lita was in danger, Greg thought. He knew that Lita was a
good friend of Ami's and also a Sailor Scout. He knew
that if Lita go hurt, it hurt all the other scouts. But why
was Lita in danger? Most of the time, it would be Serena,
Sailor Moon. All he could connect was that the figure was
going to do something to Lita. Something bad.
"I have to find a way to tell her," Greg said.
The only option was by phone. He lived too far away from
where she was to drop by her house. It would take too long.
But was the danger immediate? Maybe he should tell Ami
first. He didn't have Lita's number but he was sure that
it would be in the phone book. No, he should tell Ami first.
Greg reached for the phone and dialed Ami's number, ingraved
in his head.
On the fourth ring, someone picked up the phone. "Hello?
Who is this?"
Greg recognized Ami's voice. "Hello, Ami? I'm sorry
to wake you."
"Greg? Is that you?" Ami asked.
"Yes,"
"Why are you calling so early in the morning?" Ami asked,
after a yawn.
"Ami, listen. Can you give me Lita's phone number?"
Greg asked.
"Lita? Why?"
"I think she's in danger. I have to call her and warn her."
Greg said.
"Lita's in danger? Did you get one of the visions
again?" Ami was aware of Greg's ability to see the future.
"Yes, but I can't explain it. I just have to warn her.
Can you give me her number?" Greg asked.
"Sure," Ami gave Greg Lita's number, "She might be a
little grumpy since you're calling so early in the morning."
Ami warned.
"Yes, okay." Greg said, "Can I meet you somewhere today
so I can talk about it? In case it gets clearer."
"Umm, sure. How about today after school?" Ami asked.
"Okay, what time does your school let out?"
"Four, is that okay?"
"Sure, I'll meet you at bustop 90. That's the midpoint
of both our schools." Greg said.
"Okay. Is Lita in immediate danger?"
"I don't know. That's why I want to warn her as soon
as I can." Greg said.
"Do you want me to call her for you?"
"No, you need your sleep." Greg said.
"Goodnight Greg, get some sleep after you call okay?" Ami
was concerned that Greg would not get enough sleep and
that he would look like hell in the morning.
"I'll try. Sweet dreams, Ames," Greg hung up and quickly
dialed Lita's number after.
On the tenth ring, Lita finally picked up. Just as Ami said,
she was pretty mad at being called this early in the morning.
"Hello? Do you realize what time is it or do you live in
another time zone?" Lita mumbled sleepily.
"Lita? Wake up." Greg said loudly enough to jolt Lita
out of her snooze.
"I'm up, who is this? This better not be a prank call!"
Lita warned.
"Lita, it's me, Greg."
"Greg? Why are you calling this early? Is Ami alright?"
Lita asked. The only reason she could come up for him calling
was about Ami.
"Yes, she's fine. I just got your number from her."
"That's good. Can I go back to sleep now?" Lita yawned.
"No, Lita. Listen to me very clearly, okay?" Greg had
to make sure she was fully awake.
"Yes, I'm listening."
"Lita, you are in danger. I don't know if it's immediate
or not, but be careful. I had a vision and you were in danger
from a dark figure." Greg said slow and clearly.
"What do you mean I'm in danger? Is someone trying to
kill me?" Lita asked. She hoped this was a joke.
"No, I don't know. But all I know is that you should be
careful. I don't think you are in danger today, but just
be careful okay?" Greg said.
"If you're trying to scare me Greg, this is a pretty
pathetic joke. Did Ami put you up to this? Is she on the
other line?"
"Lita Listen to me, this is not a joke. I'm serious."
Greg said with a stern voice.
"Okay, I'll be careful. Thanks," Lita yawned again.
"Be careful okay?" Greg said.
"Sure, I can take care of myself. Don't worry. Wait,
did you tell anyone else?" Lita asked.
"Just Ami. Why?"
"Don't tell Ken okay?" Lita ased him.
"Okay, but why?" Greg would think that Ken would want
to know, since he IS her boyfriend and protector.
"You know how he'll be. He won't leave me alone if
he knew. No use worrying him. He needs some sleep anyway."
Lita said, "Speaking of sleep, can I go back to mine?"
"Okay, sure. Goodnight." Greg said.
"Thanks again Greg. Good night." Lita hung up on him
and stared in the darness.
Lita thought
to herself. She found herself constatly darting her eyes
from one corner of darkness to another. She almost expected
something to jump out across the room to her. She buried
her head under the blankets and shut her eyes, awaiting the
sleep to take over for the next few hours.
In the morning, Lita opened her eyes. she thought and almost laughed. Last night,
she had been so scared at the shadows in the room. In the
sunlight, they were just mere stuffed animals, clothes,
and a lamp.
"Shoot, it's a school day." Lita said to herself
and got up. She walked to the bathroom, waiting for something
to pop out from the sink, but nothing did. She grabbed
herself a sweet donut and left to walk to school. She lived
farthest away from Juuban highschool than the others
and had to get up earlier just to make it to the first
class. Sometimes, she even saw Serena running up infront
of her.
The roar of a motercycle got closer to her while she
was still chewing her donut. The motercycle guy stopped
infront of her, blocking her way.
"Need a lift?" The guy on the motercycle took off
his helmet and smiled at her.
"Ken! What are you doing here? Aren't you late for
school?" Lita asked. She half thought it was the man trying
to kill her or something.
"No. My school starts later today because of electrical
faults or something." Ken answered. "But you, are going to
be late for school if you continue walking at that pace."
"If the teachers see me with you on a motorcycle with
you, they'll surely kick me out of school." Lita laughed. The
teachers there already thought she was some kind of hooligan,
even though she got fair grades and was pretty smart.
"So what, let them think what they think. We're young
and we're free. Come on. I know you like riding with me."
Ken grinned and held out another helmet.
"Don't flatter yourself," Lita replied. She tied her
book bag inback of the motorcycle and put on the helmet.
She straddled the motorcycle and put her arms around
Ken's waist to avoid flying off when they got moving.
"Here we go," Ken revved up the motorcycle and sped off,
swerving infront of cars at record speed.
When they got Lita's school, there was still ten minutes
left until the bell rang. Ken stopped infront of the school
to let Lita off. Lita could see almost every teacher staring
open mouthed at them. She was in for a lecture now. Lita
quickly took her book bag from the motorcycle and put the
extra helmet inback.
"Thanks for the ride," Lita said and gave Ken a quick
kiss.
"Anytime. Do you need a ride back?"
"No, I'll walk." Lita said and waved.
Ken sped out of the front of the school into another direction.
Lita almost forgot her worries. Almost, until she saw Ami.
Ami had a worried expression on her face. Lita walked to
where Ami was.
"Any trouble?" Ami asked.
"Greg told you, huh?" Lita asked.
"Yes. Are you okay?" Ami asked.
"I'm great. Don't worry," Lita assured her, "I can take care
of myself."
"If there is trouble, call us, okay? Don't think that you
can take care of it yourself. Remember, we are a team." Ami
said. She knew how Lita liked to rush into a fight head on most
of the time instead of stopping to think of the consequences.
"I will," Lita promised.
"What did Ken say?" Ami asked.
"Oh," Lita said, "I didn't tell him."
"Why not? He would want to know."
Lita smiled, "What do you think he would do if he knew that
I was in danger? He would stick by me twenty-four hours a day
and be on guard. He'll worry himself to death. No thankyou,
this is for his own good."
"But he IS your protector," Ami whispered.
Lita opened her mouth to say more but was stopped by the
first bell. "Well, don't want to be late." She rushed off
to her first class. Surprisingly, she met Serena on the way.
Surprisingly because this was pretty early for Serena to be
at school.
"Serena! What are you doing here?" Lita asked, pulling
her into class.
"Luna woke me up an hour earlier, that sneaky cat!" Serena
complained.
"Good for Luna!" Lita said, wondering why Luna didn't think
of that earlier.
"Now I probably have to come to school early regularly now,
huh?" Serena asked.
"Who knows," Lita took her seat next to the window and waited
for the class to start.
At home, Lita took her shoes off and went to the kitchen to
get something to eat. School was over an hour ago, but she had
just gotten home. She had to stay after school and make up a
test she had missed last week. When she was walking home, everyone
else had left.
Suddenly, her communicator in her bag beeped. Lita put down
the sandwich she was making and went to fetch it. When she turned
it on, Ami's face came into view.
"Lita, this is Ami."
"Well duh, this DOES show your face," Lita said jokingly.
"We're coming to your house for an emergency meeting. It's
about what Greg told you and I."
"My house?" Lita looked around. It wasn't actually clean
today. But it will have to do.
"Yes, we're on our way." Ami said.
"Who is 'we'?"
"Us scouts, Greg, Luna and Artemis." Ami said, "Aren't you
going to tell Ken?"
"I guess I should. He would be pretty mad if everyone knew
except for him." Lita thought.
"We'll be there in about fifteen minutes. Serena in about an
hour." Ami said, calculating how late Serena would be.
"Okay, I'll call Ken. See you, Ami." Lita closed her communicator.
It was too bad Ken didn't have a communicator. When Lita called
his house, his mother said that he was still in school and that it
would be over in about another half hour.
The doorbell rang ten minutes later. Lita went to get the
door, thinking it was probably Ami who was always early. But to
her surprise, it was Darien. Someone must have told him that
there was an emergency meeting. Must have been Serena, since she
was the one closest to him. Either her or Luna.
"Hi, Lita. Am I early?" Darien asked.
"About five minutes earlier than the others. Come in,
sit down." Lita opened the door wider for him.
Darien sat on a couch and crossed his legs.
"Sorry the house is such a mess. I didn't have a chance
to clean it up this weekend." Lita explained.
"No, it's pretty clean. I would have guessed Serena told
you how messy my apartment was. I just don't like to clean as
much as you do." Darien laughed. It was true, he hadn't cleaned
his apartment since Christmas. Lately, he was even embarassed
to invite Serena over because of the mess at his apartment.
"No, Serena never really said anything about your
apartment to me." Lita said.
"Well, it's not half the size this is. Wow, your apartment
is pretty big now that I look at it. Mine is about the size of
the living room." Darien said, "How much are you paying for it
each month?"
"About a thousand including utilities and water." Lita said.
That was how much it was the last time she paid the bill.
"How can you afford it, since....you know." Darien regretted
what he asked. He should know how Lita feels, since they were
both orphans.
"Since my parents died?" Lita asked.
"Sorry, you don't have to talk about it." Darien apologized.
"It's okay, it's not like a big secret or anything." Lita
said, "I'm not that sensitive to that issue, dispite what Serena
might tell you."
"Serena just told me that your parents died, but she didn't
tell me anything else." Darien informed.
"Well, that's about all I ever told her. I can afford this
because of my Uncle. My unknown uncle. Every month, he sends
me a lot of money to cover the bills and some left over for
other stuff. I've never met this guy before, he lives in Texas,
I've never heard my parents speak of him, and I guess that's
it. If it wasn't for my uncle, I could have never afforded this.
My parents left me all their money after they died, but when I
calculated, it wouldn't be nearly enough to get me through
highschool. So, god bless my uncle." Lita explained.
"Wow, that's lucky for you." Darien said, "I never could
have lived here when I was your age. I lived in the orphanage
until I was old enough to work." Darien thought that he owed
her at least some explanation of his weird life, since she
had told him about hers.
Lita knew how hard it was for Darien to talk about his
past, and hoped she wasn't in any way forcing him to do it.
She put her hand up, "Darien, you don't owe me anything. You
don't have to explain your past or anything."
Darien looked relieved, "You read my mind."
"You don't have to tell me anything if you feel against
it or anything." Lita said.
"I don't have anything against you Lita, but I just
don't feel like talking about it." Darien offered.
"Fine with me. I'm not in the mood to pry anyway." Lita said.
"You mind if I ask you something?" Darien asked.
"Go ahead, shoot." Lita wondered what he was going to ask her.
"No, wait. Let me go get something." Lita remembered her finger
sandwhiches sitting on the kitchen counter. She brought it to
the low coffee table and offered Darien one.
"It's okay, I already ate." Darien refused. Her sandwiches looked
pretty good, but he was stuffed.
"Are you sure? Serena will wipe the plate clean when she
gets here, so this is your last chance." Lita said, then bit
her tongue, "I'm sorry. I don't mean to be capping on Serena.
It's just that, she has a really big appetite."
"I know what you mean," Darien laughed.
Lita loosened up and figured, Dariens not a bad guy. He was
a pretty good match for Serena. Good natured. "So? What were you
going to ask me?"
Darien had almost forgotten what he was going to ask, but it
came back to his mind. "How long have you known Ken? It's like
you guys are pretty close. It's almost like you guys can read
each others thoughts. Can you? I mean, me and Serena, we're
close, but we're not as close as you two are. I hope it's not too
personal." Darien added.
"No, it's not that personal." Lita thought. How can she explain
to Darien all the small things that made Ken Ken? She thought
of how to put into words, the thing between them. It was deep,
it was a feeling. How can you describe color to someone who's been
blind all their lives?
"Ken's my best friend," Lita started, "I've known him
since the sand box days. We were just friends back then. Our
parents were friends, so we played with each other. After my
parents died, all my friends, all except Ken, treated me differently.
In school, down every hall I walked through, there would be
whispers behind my back. 'Look, it's Lita. Do you know that
her parents are dead? Yeah, she lives by herself.' Ken never
changed. He looked out for me and stuck up for me." Lita chewed on
her lip, trying to describe how Ken was.
"So you've known him your whole life?" Darien asked.
"Yes, almost."
"So, ummm...." Darien didn't know how to put it, "How
did you guys get together, you know...how did you guys start
dating and stuff?"
Lita smiled, thinking of the day when Ken just blurted out
how much he loved her. "It's kind of funny, now that I think
of it."
"I remember he risked his life for you, with that cardian
and the two aliens. That was when I was still Moon Light Knight.
Geez, I can't believe I wore that get-up. I wouldn't be
caught dead in it." Darien said.
"Yup, that's Ken. Always thinking of someone else." Lita
smiled.
"When did you guys start dating or something?" Darien asked.
He usually wasn't that nosy, but Lita and Ken's relationship
was such a mystery to him.
"Like I said, he's my best friend. A long time ago, when
I was thirteen or something, I use to date this guy," Lita
tried to remember, "His name was Eddy or Freddy or something.
One day, he asked me to the gazebo in the park. It was raining,
so I wondered why he asked me out at that weather. When I got
there, he dumped me. God, I felt so bad. But then, Ken was there.
Protecting me from the rain, hugging me, comforting me. He warned
me about Freddy, but I wouldn't beleive him. Somehow, he was just
walking in the rain and saw me there. Ken loves walking in the
rain. He brought me home and held me, making me feel better.
Then all of a sudden, he just blurted out that he loved me."
Lita smiled softly at that memory. Ken was so patient, waiting
for her to finally realize how much she loved him.
Lita continued, "At first, I didn't believe him. I thought
it was some hormone thing, since he was two years older than
I. You know, too much testoterone buildup or somethigng.
Next, I thought he was in a phase. Then, I realized that he was
sincere about it. I didn't know what to do. My parents
said they loved me and left. I thought my old boyfriends
loved me, but they dumped me. I was afraid of Ken leaving
me, then there would be no one left."
"So when did you realize that you liked him?" Darien asked.
"That I loved him? After he risked his life for mine,
with Alan and Ann, I realized what a great friend he is to
me. I realized I loved him. It's like all the personality
traits were laid out on a table for me to choose and keep. Its
like I chose the traits I liked, and put it in one guy. Ken
Is that one guy, so perfect, no nice. What made it better,
is because he's my best friend." Lita finished. Darien
was a really good listener. Serena was lucky to find him,
since she was an eternal talker.
"Wow, Serena started off hating me at first," Darien
laughed.
"But you guys really hit it off since then." Lita said.
"Yes, we really hit it off," Darien repeated.
Lita checked her watch, it had been about ten minutes
already, where were the others? Ami wasn't usually late like
this, but then, it was only ten minutes. No big deal. She
decided to call Ken's house again.
This time, he was home.
"Kennie? Can you come over? There's an emergency meeting,"
Lita asked over the phone.
"Are you okay, Li?" Ken asked.
"Sure, for now. I'm at my apartment. The others are
on their way." Lita said.
"For now?"
"I'll tell you when you get here, Kennie." Lita promised.
"Okay, bye. See you, kitten." Ken said.
"Bye, Kennie." Lita hung up. Then she realized that now
Darien knew what she usually called Ken in private.
"Kennie?" Darien laughed.
"It use to be a nickname for him when I was small. I guess
it just stuck." Lita explained, trying to hide her blush.
"Hello? Lita, can you let us in?" Serena's shrill voice
called through the door. Sometimes, Lita wondered if she
knew what a door bell was.
Lita went to open the door and let her in. Serena came
in with Luna, Mina and Artemis. Still no Ami.
"Oh! Sandwiches! I'm starved." Serena exclaimed and
grabbed more than her share of the food. "Hi muffin." She
greeted Darien and sat by him.
"So what's this meeting about anyway?" Darien asked.
"Yeah, Ami never told us." Mina provided.
All of them but Lita looked at Luna in anticipation. Luna
usually knew the buzz on the emergency meetings before the
rest of them.
"Why are you all looking at me like that for? I don't
know a thing about this." Luna answered their expectant looks.
"Why are we here, Lita?" Artemis asked.
"I'd better wait until Ami and Greg get's here." Lita
answered.
"Greg? What does he have anything to do with this?" Luna
asked. They all knew that Greg knew their alternate identities.
"He had another vision," Lita said.
"What was it about? The future?" Serena asked.
"Well, kind of. But we better wait for Greg. He could
tell us much more." Lita said.
"OOO! Nystery....this is intense!" Mina exclaimed. She
loved it when there was something mysterious going on.
"I don't like the sound of this," Serena whined.
"It's okay, meatball-head. I'll protect you," Darien
promised.
"Hey, stop calling me that!" Serena demanded, "As
future Princess of Crystal Tokyo, I order you to stop calling
me that."
"Aww, she looks so cute when she does that, doesn't she?"
Darien asked and kissed the tip of Serena's nose.
Just then, another knock came from the door, this time not
followed by any shrill voice. Lita went to open the door.
Ami was there with Greg.
"Lita, you should really ask who is it, considering
the fact that your life is in danger," Ami chatised.
"Gee, I'll remember next time." Lita said dryly.
"Who was it?" Mina called from the living room.
"Just us," Ami led Greg to the living room.
"Hi Greg!" Serena greeted cheerfully.
"Oh, hi Greg. What brings you here?" Mina asked.
None of them expcept Ami and Lita knew it was not a social
call that Greg here.
"Wait, don't tell them until Ken gets here." Lita instructed.
Then, there would be no need to repeat anything.
"When is he coming?" Ami asked.
"He should be here in ten more minutes, here have a sandwich,"
Lita handed Ami and Greg the big platter which was three quaters
empty by now.
"Sorry, I was hungry so I ate some." Serena apologized.
"Some? I would say you ate more than some." Luna said.
"Well, I'm growing!" Serena stated.
"Not too big, I see." Luna answered.
"Hey? Lita. You left your front door open, so I came
in." Rei walked in the room still in her private school clothes.
"Hi Rei, have a sandwich." Lita pointed to the platter.
"No, I already ate. I had a feeling Serena would wipe out
all your food so I grabbed something on the way." Rei exclaimed.
"I did not! I left some for you guys," Serena pointed to the
four sandwiches left.
"Wow, enough to last a whole month." Rei said sarcastically.
"Gee Rei, I didn't know you had to eat that much. Are ya
gaining wait?" Serena asked, sticking her tongue out.
"Oh yeah?" Rei stuck her tongue out.
"Yeah!" Serena made raspberry noises at Rei.
"You two, cut it out! This is highly unproper and very childish!
I command you to stop!" Luna ordered.
Serena and Rei backed down to their sides of the room at Luna's
command.
"Thank you," Luna said.
Ken walked through the door just as Rei was about to say something
else to Serena.
"Sorry, am I late?" Ken asked.
"Hey- I locked the door on my way in!" Rei said.
"Oh, I have the keys to her house." Ken replied.
"Gee, I wonder what for?" Mina said, a questioning tone in
her voice and a questionting look on her face.
"Don't even think about it!" Lita warned.
"Me? Why, I'm shocked that you even thought it! I would
never have such thoughts!" Mina said, batting her eyelashes
innocently.
Ken took a seat on the table by the window and looked at
Luna. "So, Luna. What is the meeting about?" Usually, Luna
was the one who called the meetings.
"Don't look at me, I'm as clueless about this as the
rest of you. Why don't you ask Ami?" Luna was tired of
everyone asking her.
"Ami?" Ken looked at her questiongly.
"Well, Greg had another vision last night. He called me and
Lita to tell me about it early in the morning." Ami started off.
"Why did you call Lita?" Serena asked Greg.
"Well, Ami was right. I had a vision. The reason I called
Lita is because it was about her." Greg said.
Almost everyone was at the edge of their seats. Almost
Everyone. Ken had a strange expression on his face.
"Is Lita in danger?" Ken asked Greg.
"Yes, how did you know?" Greg asked, surprised. Had Lita
told Ken afterall?
"I don't know. I just had this strange feeling about it.
That's why I saw you this morning, I wanted to see if you
were okay." Ken told Lita.
"Wait, I still don't know what this is about." Serena
said.
"Lita is in danger. By this man. I can't tell who he
is or what he looks like, but he's out to get Lita." Greg explained.
"Do you know anything else?" Ken asked.
"The only other thing I can think of is that the attack is going
to come at night." Greg supplyed.
"At night?" Luna repeated.
"Yes,"
"Is that all you can remember?" Ken asked again.
"Yes, I'm sorry. I wish I knew more." Greg said apologetically.
"Don't worry, you've been a great help. Now, we knew what to
prepare for." Darien said.
"How do we know what to prepare for? I mean, we don't even
know what this guy looks like. All it did is make us paranoid until
it will acually happen. How do we knew it is not in the far future,
how do we know it's not tonight? How do we know this is not just
a dream?" Rei asked angrily to no one in particular. She hated
not knowing what to do. In a way, she was glad that she couldn't
see the future, it would just be too much for her.
"Rei, calm down. At least now we know that something is going
to happen and that we can keep our guards up." Lita said. She
felt sorry for Greg, who was doing all he could to remember more
about the vision.
"Lita, why didn't you tell me?" Ken finally asked. The past
few minutes, he was trying to come up for a logical explanation
on why Lita didn't tell him in the morning. She couldn't
say she forgot. That sort of thing doesn't slip your mind
very easisly.
"I didn't want you to worry yourself to death. I know you
wouldn't stop worrying about me if you knew. I just wanted
to save you some stress." Lita said. "I hope you're not mad
at me."
Ken looked across the room at her, with her green eyes
pleading for forgivness. He couldn't stay mad at her. Ken
sighed, "Lita, I'm always worried about you. Nothing is going
to change that. I thought we could tell each other everything?
I'm your protector, I'm suppose to know all these things!" Ken
ended exclaiming, "I want to know these things."
"I'm sorry, Kennie. I just didn't want you to worry about
me." Lita said softly.
Darien thought. That girl really
had some guts.
"So what are we going to do about it?" Mina asked. "We
can't just sit here and let them come for Lita. We need a plan."
"I know! We can find him and fry him before he even suspects
what we know!" Serena exclaimed.
Luna hit Serena on the head with her paw.
"Owwww! What's that for?" Serena asked.
Luna sat up straighter, "Serena, you've been eating too much.
All that food has gone to your head. We can't just go to that
guy's house. We DON'T know who he is! That's the problem. If
we only knew who he is."
No one but Ami noticed Greg sitting with his head in his
hands, grimacing.
"Greg! Are you okay?!" Ami asked, horrified. It looked
like he was going into an epileptic seizure of some kind.
Greg didn't answer, he still clutched his head in his hands.
The room was dead still. All eyes were on Greg.
"Do you think we should get some help?" Lita asked, ready
to dive for the phone.
"No, I think he's having another vision." Luna said.
For five whole minutes, they stared in silence at Greg.
Everything was as still as if they were in a museum. Finally,
Greg's eyes snapped open. He blinked rapidly for a few seconds,
then remembered where he was.
"Greg? What happened?" Ami asked.
Greg's face was deathly white. This time, he saw the same
vision, but more. It was immensely more graphic than the
last vision. He had seen the man, capturing Sailor Jupiter, then tieing
her to some sort of midievel torture table. Then, the man
took a long curved knife and literally gutted Sailor Jupiter.
He saw her face twist in pain, he saw her intestines spilling
out of her body. And he could not do anything. He was only
a helpless bystander, in a third person perspective.
Now, Greg's face took on a greenish hue, almost as if he
was about to puke. Lita didn't like what she was seeing.
"Greg, are you okay?" Lita asked. He looked like death
himself.
"Greg, why don't you go into the bathroom and rinse your
face. I think you really need it." Ami said, "The bathroom
is right over there."
Greg nodded and walked wobly to the bathroom. When
he got there, he locked the door and looked at himself in
the mirror ontop of the sink. He didn't look too good.
Before he knew it, he regurgitated all his lunch into Lita's
sparkling white sink. He rinsed the sink and then splashed
some water on his face. He felt better after that. He looked
into the mirror again. He didn't look that good, but it was
a start.
He couldn't get that picture out of his head. This
man, brutally gutting Sailor Jupiter. Where were the others?
Why weren't they helping?
"Greg? Are you okay in there?" Ami knocked on the
door.
"Yeah, I'll be right out." He smoothed his hair
down and shook his head as if to cast out the thoughts.
Lita watched Greg take his seat on the couch after coming
out of the bathroom. He looked a little better. Everyone
waited for him to explain what he saw. Greg looked on the floor,
trying to start it off and block the picture from his mind.
Should he tell them what he saw, graphically or should he just
tell them in general?
"Greg, what happened?" Luna asked.
"You didn't look too good," Artemis told him.
"I saw," Greg started out, "I saw the same vision and
more. I saw someone capturing Lita. No, someone capturing
Sailor Jupiter. She was tied to some ancient looking table,
a midievel torture table, I think. You know, the ones they show
in old horror movies."
Lita's eyes were wide now. She wasn't afraid of dying,
but she didn't want to die a slow and painful death like what
Greg was going to describe.
Ken was now sitting on the arm rest by Lita. He
put an arm around her shoulder, and squeezed her gently.
"Go on," Luna urged.
Greg's face turned that hue of green again, "Do you
really want me to give you the graphic details?"
"I guess, so." Darien said.
"Lita, do you want to hear this? If not, you can go
into the other room," asked Ami.
"No, I want to hear it. It has something to do with
me after all, so I guess it's my duty to hear it." Lita sighed.
She wasn't sure if she wanted to hear it, but she had to be
brave.
"Okay, I saw Lita tied up. This guy had a curved
sword or knife in his hand. The ones pirates have in those
movies. He literally split Lita's stomach apart and all her
insides poured out. He took one end of her intestine and
started to wrap it around her, while she was still alive. I
can't forget the look of pain she had on her face. And I couldn't
do anything to stop it." Greg's face was now ash green.
Serena was clutching her mouth with her hand, almost
ready to puke. She jumped up and ran to the bathroom.
Retching sound could be heard from Serena in the bathroom.
Mina and Ami's eyes were big and frozen, staring
at Greg, at what he described. Rei was frowning, she had to
find out who that man was! Maybe a fire reading would
tell them who he was. She was already making plans to
go to the temple and do a fire reading.
Ken was gripping Lita's hand so tightly, the circulation
was cut off. He swore in his mind never to leave Lita alone until
this orge of a man was destroyed.
"Ken, I can't feel my hands." Lita whispered.
Ken let go of her hands and looked at her. Her face
was a pale ash color and her eyes were casted down on the
table. "Lita, are you alright?" Ken asked, afraid to find
her spacing out on them.
"How can I be alright after I just heard what is
going to happen to me?" Lita asked softly. Her voice took
on a depressed pretense.
"It's not going to happen to you," Rei said firmly.
"Did you get any more vibes about that man?" Ami
asked, meaning the one torturing Lita.
Greg was afraid they would ask that. He did get another
feeling coming from the man out of his vision. He knew it
had something to do with one other person in this group.
But he couldn't place his finger on who yet. He tried to
think, focusing his thoughts on one person at a time.
"Greg?!" Ami asked. He hadn't answered her question
yet, and it had been five minutes.
"Huh?" Greg looked up, focusing his thoughts on her,
hoping it had nothing to do with Ami.
"I asked if you knew anything more about that man." Ami
repeated.
"Yes, I know something about that man." Greg focused
his eyes on Darien. No, not him.
"What?" Rei asked. Greg seemed to be scanning everyone
in the room or something.
The last one left was Ken. Greg thought. But as he put
his eyes on Ken, his mind clicked. It had something to do
with Ken. Ken was a tie in into all of these visions.
"Greg! Did you hear us at all?" Mina asked.
"Yes. Someone in here has something to do with this
man. Someone in here has a tie in with all this. I'm not
sure if this is true, but if it is....then the person is...." Greg
stopped. He didn't want to accuse Ken of anything. It would hurt
both Ken and Lita.
"Who?!" Luna asked.
"Are you sure you want to know? I'm not one hundred
percent sure, thought." Greg said.
"Yes, we want to know!" Serena shouted impatiently.
"Yeah, who is it?" Ken demanded. The sooner he knew
about this, the sooner they could all help Lita.
"You," Greg said softly, his eyes on the ground.
"Who?!" Ami asked.
"Who did you say?" Rei asked.
Ken had heard what Greg said. The accusation was swimming
in his head. Had he heard right? Was that what Greg said?
Ken asked himself.
"Who?" Darien didn't catch what Greg said.
"Ken," Greg said softly.
"Ken?!" Everyone shouted at once.
"I don't want to accuse anyone, but in my vision, Ken has
some tie in with all of this." Greg told them.
"But that's impossible! Ken is one of us. He wouldn't
do anything to hurt Lita!" Serena shouted.
Ken was silent. Everyone's eyes were on him. Ken thought. He looked at Lita. She
wasn't looking at him. Her eyes were still on the ground.
Darien thought,
"Ken?" Greg turned to Ken, wanting him to say something.
To say something to prove that the vision was wrong.
"Yes, it's me." Ken stated, looking at all of them.
******** *********** ************ ******** ************
Well, there's part two of this series, did you like it? Suspense?
Mystery? Gee, I wonder why Ken would want to hurt Lita, don't
you? :)
YOu know where to send comments and stuff. Oh, yeah, could
you help me out with something first? I have this little thing
going on. Just mail me with an answer okay?
The question: In fanfics with the NA names, would you rather have
Sailor Mercury named Ami or Amy? How about Mars,
Rei, or Raye? Or would you rather have them in
a Japanese translation?
Please, please, please mail me with the answer! I need the knowledge!!!
Or else my head will bust! (Just Kidding.)
I hope the last part wasn't too gruesome for you. I jut finished
watching a horror flick, and you know how those are. Anyone seen
Braveheart? They did almost the same thing to Mel.
