mail me. I'm already confused as it is, you don't need to drive
me even more off the cliff okay?
This is a whole different series than my other ones. If you
read Jupiter Knight and Past Lives, you'll see some tie-in and
same character basis. Yes, I know, all my fics are somehow
connected to each other. Well, that way, I won't go out
of my mind trying to recall which fic was which.
Thanks to Lord Talon (heeehee! The mighty Lord Talon) for
giving me the idea, even though you don't know it yet.
Oh, if you haven't read the previous chapters, you might
want to go back and read them, or you'll be feeling around in
the dark. But don't take my word for it.
UNKNOWN THINGS, NOT REMEMBERED
By Lady Jupiter
!--+Crunch+--!
Serena bit into another cookie. Crumbs fell all over her
plate, since she was chewing with her mouth full. Crunch, crunch.
"Serena, quiet down! I'm trying to read!" Rei ordered,
flipping another page of her manga.
"Sorry, I'm just eating!" Serena complained.
"Well stop eating. You know, it wouldn't hurt." Rei said,
ticked off as usual at Serena.
"But I'm hungry!" Serena whined.
"Quit your whining. You're such a baby." Rei said, glaring
at Serena.
"It's not your house. You can't tell me what to do." Serena
told her.
"Lita, tell Serena to shut up!" Rei turned to Lita, who
was sitting on the couch.
"Hey, don't bring me into this. I'm staying neutral this
time." Lita said, backing off.
"Why don't you two just ignore each other. It would be much
easier than arguing all night." Ami advised.
"Fine," Rei said, sticking her nose high in the air and
turned back to her manga.
"Fine with me." Serena said and started munching on the
cookies again.
"Lita, are you okay?" Mina asked. Lita had been so quiet
these past few days. It was really not like her.
"Yeah, fine." Lita said and offered a smile.
"You're thinking of Ken again, aren't you?" Serena asked.
At the mention of that name, the two cats perked up
their ears. They haven't heard from Ken for almost three weeks.
They still thought he had something to do with Greg's visions
of someone killing and torturing Lita.
Lita sighed, hugging a big fluffy pillow next to her.
"It's been almost three weeks since I've seen him. He never called
me, and it's like he's avoiding me. It's like he dissapeared
from the surface of the Earth. I don't know why he's like this."
"Maybe he's been taken over by the Negaverse," Serena
said.
Lita's head jerked up, she stared at Serena. "So we're
just sitting here not doing anything?" She asked.
"No, he's fine. See, he's on my computer." Ami had
her mini-computer out. Sure enough, Ken was still located
on screen. If he had been in danger, he would be flashing, or
completely gone from the screen.
"Men are so weird," Lita declared.
"I'll say. Last week, I saw Chad walking around, outside
the temple with only his boxers on. I asked him why he was doing
that and he said so he would have less clothes to wash, which
meant less chores." Rei said.
"No, you should see what Sammy does. He was sneaking
around the house, trying to look for some socks he lost. He
said if mom found out he lost the socks, she'd kill him.
What's worse, all the socks he lost were from a different
pair. So now, he wears mismatched socks to school." Serena
laughed.
Mina laughed with Serena, and fell off the chair.
"No, let me tell you something hilarious!" Mina said,
gasping for air, "Last week, this guy in school asked me out.
I said yes, and you know what? He didn't hear a word
I said! After I said yes, he said, 'oh, you probably don't
want to go out with me. I'm sorry to bother you. Maybe I'll
go ask someone less pretty.'!"
The girls cracked up. They all agreed that of the
two sexes, men were the weirdest. Serena suddenly remembered
something.
"Yesterday, I went to Darien's apartement. Do you
know what I found?" she asked, smiling.
"What?" They all asked.
"I found a tub of mayonaise from last September there!
It was all watery and smelly. When I opened it, I almost
passed out!" Serena shouted.
"EWW! Gross!" Lita said.
"I know! Now I'm afraid to go in there, afraid of
what I'll find next. Maybe some dinosaur eggs or something."
Serena shuddered.
Lita's grandfather clock chimed ten times.
"Wow, ten already?" Rei asked. "I'd better go
before Grampa send Chad out for me."
"Yeah, me too." Serena said.
The girls helped Lita clean up and then left. Lita
locked the door and turned off the hallway lights. She was
tired. School had let out for summer vacation a week ago,
leaving her bored stiff. She had already gone to every store,
buying all the bargains, had tried every recipe she knew,
stuffed Serena ten pounds, and even rearranged her furnature.
"What am I suppose to do?" Lita asked. She called
Ken on the phone before, but he always said he was busy,
or his mother said he was out, or he was taking a shower.
So far, Lita counted he took five showers a day, or he
was lying.
Lita thought. She didn't
think he was going to hurt her, like the others thought. But
why was he being like this? Little by little, Lita was
begining to think that what the others said was true. He
was changing, for the worse.
Have a little faith. That was what Lita's mother
told her. Lita remembered to put trust into some people, who
she knew could be trusted.
Lita went into her bedroom, too tired to do anything
else. Today, she had followed Mina all around town, looking
for the perfect summer dress. They had shopped for ten
hours, walking from shop to shop, with no prevail. The had
come home, with only a bag of chips, having bought nothing
else.
Soon, sleep took over her and the outside world
was blocked from her senses. Lita drifted into a sleep
so deep, she thought she would stay there forever.
Off, in the deep realms of another dimension, someone
peered at the sleeping Lita, through a glass case, filled with
smoke.
"Today, is the day," the dark figure stated.
"Today, we shall start. Start, The Revenge!" he held his
hands up, gesturing to the dark never-ending expanse of sky.
"We are ready, my lord. Please, let us be the
first." Two women stepped up from beneath the shadows.
"Oh? Are you?" the Dark One asked. He glared
at them through silver eyes, drawn to a slit. "How can
you be so sure? Vanity is not taught here. You will not
be ready until I saw so. Do you hear me?"
The two women nodded, and bowed down, sinking back
into the shadows. The Dark One swirled the smoke around
again. The image of Lita dissapeared from the glass case.
the Dark one thought.
He looked at the crystal orb, glowing dimly on it's
stand. Encased in a box of glass, the strongest glass. Guarded
by his most loyal and strongest guards, on four corners.
This was his life, the only way to live. Without that glass,
he would be dead, like he would have been a long time ago,
if he hadn't sold his conscience, his soul. He gave that
no regret. He had learned to stop regretting a long
time ago, when his son betrayed him.
The Dark One thought.
"I need four of my finest warriors. Step forward!"
The Dark One ordered.
No one stepped up. The Dark One grinned. "Good,
I have taught you well. Vanity has no place here. Now,
I want Ei, Er, San, and Su. Step out."
On cue, four men, exactly alike in everything but
the clothes they had on stepped out. Their clothes were
of a similar style, a blouse and slacks under heavy armor.
Only the color was different. Two of them were in black and
white, but opposite of each other. One had black pants a
white shirt, the other vice versa. The remaining two
had on green and yellow, also opposite of each other.
"Yes, my lord?" The said in unison, bowing to
the Dark One.
The Dark One threw them each some sort of crystal.
Each of the crystals were of a rectangular shape, black in
the center, getting lighter on the sides.
"I want all of you to stand outside. One in each
side of the castle. Guard this castle. Don't let anyone
but me in. Even if it is one of us. Trust no one but
me. I will personally capture my prisoner. But you have
to guard this. Do you understand?" The Dark One asked.
"Yes, my lord." The all said.
"Now, go!" he ordered.
All four warriors dissapeared to their assigned posts
and stood there, stationary as statues.
"I need four more!" The Dark One shouted. Four
women stepped out, wearing the identical clothes of the
last four.
The Dark one tossed them a crystal each. "You will
be stationed on the four walls inside. In case the last
four are not doing their job. Let no one but me it, trust
no one but me. Go!"
"What about us?" One voice came out of the shadows.
Whispers and murmurs arose. No one was suppose to speak,
unless spoken to.
"Step up!" The Dark One commanded.
One man with fire red hair stepped up from the shadows.
He looked at the Dark One, then lowered his eyes.
"What ABOUT you?" The Dark One sneered. "Well,
let me see. That's eight guards already. Step forward."
The man hesitated, then obeyed. He took a step
forward, never meeting anyone's gaze.
"I have no need for you!" The Dark One laughed,
pointing a finger at him. Suddenly, the man with fire hair
fell, started shrinking. The Dark One sucked him dry of
energy, until that man dissapeared.
"Everyone, step up." The Dark One shouted.
There was hesitation.
"Step up!" The Dark One shouted louder, making
the room shake.
Immediatly, all of the warriors that were left stood
up. They were the "leftovers" from the excess energy The Dark
One had collected. He had formed soldiers, training them.
Now, he had no need for them. But he did need one thing from
them. Energy, lots of energy.
The Dark One put out a palm and started sucking the
energy out of all the warriors. In five minutes, they were
gone, the Dark One feeling refreshed.
"Well, I'm coming. There's no stopping me." The
Dark One said simply, and dissapeared in a vortex to the
next dimension.
In the darkened room, it was hard to notice the particular
dark spot in the corner. But when a man stepped out from that
spot, it was quite noticable. The man stepped out with
agility and silence of a cat. He mad his way quietly around
the room, looking at it's surroundings.
The Dark One thought.
The Dark One made his way to the wall with all the picture
frames hanging from it. There was a recent one, probably a
school picture of her.
The Dark One chuckled softly
to himself. A picture caught his nocturnal eyes. It was
of a boy, about seventeen. A boy with light auburn hair
hanging over his eyes. The Dark One thought.
This was an unexpected turn of events. The Dark One smirked. He noticed the boy had his
arms around HER. The Dark One thought bitterly.
His own son, betrayed him for that girl, the princess.
The Dark One saw two bedrooms side by side. He chose
the one on the right. He quietly opened it, waiting for a
squeak that never came. He
went to the next door and opened it wide. There she was,
sleeping soundly in bed. How was HE suppose to bring HER
THERE without waking her?
The Dark One took out a small
bag from the hooded coat he wore, with all the pockets to
conceal everything in the world. He sprinkled a small amount
of grayish dust on Lita, and waited. After a while, he poked
her arm with his finger. No reaction.
The tall man effortlessly lifted her from her bed, and carried
her outside to the living room. The dark portal was still
there.
"What can I say, Makoto? Or should I say Princess
Makoto? It's time for my revenge!" The Dark One laughed, not
afraid of waking her anymore. He looked at the portal.
He thought.
The Dark One jumped into the portal and lept into another
dimension. He remembered to leave the portal open, after one
more person goes through it, it will close. He was now standing
in the dungeon, on the bottom floor of his castle.
Lita was still out cold, so there was no fear in waking
anyone who was suppose to be sleeping. The Dark One laid her
on a long table, about two feet taller than she was. He put
her down on her back, making sure she was strait. He stretched
her arms out and fastened it with an iron cuff to the top
of the table. Then, he fastened her legs to the other side,
so she was now unable to free herself.
"I can't wait for you to wake up. I can't wait to
see your face, when you see mine!" The Dark One said in a
low and scratchy voice.
Ken lay awake on his bed. Something wasn't right.
Ken thought to himself. His
parents were out for the whole week on a business trip through
Thailand, so he had the house to himself. Ken's
mind asked him.
"LITA!" Ken shouted. He bolted out of bed and grabbed
on some clothes. He had no idea what he was putting on, since
he was dressing in the dark. Something was wrong with Lita.
She was in danger. He knew this feeling. It came everytime
Lita was in danger. He had these feelings even before he
found out he was Jupiter Knight. That was how he always knew
when someone was picking on Lita.
"Hold on, Lita. I'm coming!" Ken said. He got on
his motorcycle and sped to her house, hoping he could get
there in time.
Ken ran up the stairs two at a time until he reached
Lita's floor. The door looked unharmed, the lock was not broken.
Ken thought. He unlocked her door with his spare
key and looked in. It was completely dark. He switched on
the light and gasped at the dark hole in the corner of her
living room.
It was some sort of portal. He had seen these before.
Negatrash would dissapear into them. Ken rushed to Lita's bedroom
and found it emtpy. Everything was in order, which meant there
wasn't much struggle. That worried Ken. Lita wouldn't willingly
go like that? She would kick and scream before leaving with them.
"Lita!" Ken called. No answer was there. There was only
silence. Ken knew the only thing he had to do. Go through
the portal after Lita.
"Jupiter Power!" Ken shouted. He felt his mismatched
clothes melt into the familiar formal wear. He felt the handle
of his sword push into his hand, but pushed it back into the
dimensional pocket he kept it in. No need for that, yet.
In his mind, he knew this was some kind of trap. Why would
someone leave the portal open, if not to lure him in with Lita?
Once again, they were using Lita as bait for him. God, when is
this going to end, he thought.
Jupiter Knight jumped through the portal and stepped
on firm ground. The portal closed behind him.
"I guess there's no turning back now," he thought.
Lita groaned. Her head felt like it gained ten pounds
by just sleeping. It was like she had a hangover. Lita thought. She opened her
eyes. It was dim. Something in the air smelled like stale
bread, or rotten eggs or both. She brought her hands up to
her face.
"Hey? What the-" Lita couldn't move her hands. They
were tied or something above her head. She wasn't in her room.
Her legs were tied too. Lita scolded
herself.
"So, finally awake? Well, we finally meet again."
A voice said to her.
Lita repeated to herself.
"Who the hell are you?" Lita asked, trying to keep her
voice from trembling. She was scared.
"Don't you remember me? Makoto." He asked.
Lita asked.
"How do you know me?" Lita demanded. There was no use trying
to transform. She was tied up, there was no way she could get out
by herself.
"Oh? Don't you remember me?" He stepped up to her,
grinning evily.
Lita saw a man, pretty old. Definetly over the hill. That
was odd. Most of the Negaverse Generals looked like they were in
their twenties. So who was this old geezer?
"What do you want? You old prune!" Lita spat.
"You don't remember me? I'm shocked. But you remember
my son. I can see that. So what happened when Serenity sent
all of you to the future? This is what happens? You forget
your past. That's trash!" he said.
"Are you from the Negaverse?" Lita asked.
"Negaverse? What's that? I've never heard of it
in my life. And I lived a long time. But then, you don't hear
much locked up in the asylum." He said accusingly.
"Who ARE you?" Lita demanded again.
"For now, I am the Dark One. But enough of the talking,
I am getting tired. I will go take a rest. Wait for my son
to come. Then we will have fun. I know you can't wait." The
Dark One sneered sinisterly and walked up the steps and slammed
the heavy door behind him.
The four women guards were still standing at their
post, they looked obviously bored.
"Switch with the men outside," The Dark One ordered and
walked to his quarters.
Lita laid there, not like she had any other choice. Who
was this crazy old man? He wasn't from the Negaverse, he didn't
look like an alien? But who was he?
"Something to do with Ken," Greg's words repeated in her
mind. He had something to do with Ken. So what was it?
Jupiter Knight took out his sword, ready to fight any
second. He was looking at flat land. Totally flat. Not a tree
was in sight. Not one living thing. Sand blew across the land.
At the horizon, he saw something jutting out. The sand
blew clear, letting him see more. It was some sort of
castle. Probably where they were keeping Lita. But was he suppose
to just go like that. If he got any closer, they would most
obviously see him. Since he would be the only thing sticking
out of this flat plain. Not that there was a choice. He
had to get there before it's too late.
With a deep breath and his sword ready at hand, he
marched forward with all the courage he had.
"Sis, do you see that?" One guard said to the other.
"What is that?"
"Looks like an intruder!" the first guard said.
"Call the other two and tell them to come north.
There's an intruder. I'll check it out." The second guard
squinted against the sun.
It was hard to see, this man was walking with the
sun directly in back of him. So all they could see was
a silhoute of him. The first guard returned with two more
guards.
"See anything yet?" The first guard asked.
"Yeah, see anything?" Her sister asked.
"He's cute!" One of the other guard said.
"Too bad we have to kill him." The first said.
"Yeah too bad."
Jupiter Knight saw four women, who looked like guards.
By the way they were huddled and talking, he knew they spotted
him. But maybe they didn't know he was an enemy.
Jupiter Knight thought. He thought
of a plan. Honey works better than vinegar. Jupiter Knight thought of the perfect
plan. Let's just hope it worked.
He saw that they weren't going to do anything at
this distance, so he continued walking to them. They seemed
to be all staring at him now.
"Hi, girls." Jupiter Knight said, putting on a smile
and running his hands through his auborn hair that fell almost
over his eyes.
"Hello," One of them said. They obviously found him
attractive. While he thought nothing of them, except that
he had to get through them to get to Lita.
"Am I allowed to go in?" He asked.
"No, we have to kill you." The oldest said, sighing.
"Oh, that's too bad." Jupiter Knight said, shaking
his head.
"Or you can join sides with us." One said.
"Well," Jupiter Knight charged up his sword with electricity
without them thinking a thing. He purposely dropped it.
"Oh dear, can someone get that? I would, but you know,
bad back." Jupiter Knight smiled at them.
All at once, all four girls hurried to be the ones to
get the sword and hand it to them. The first girl got to it and
picked it up. The minute she touched it, she began shaking with
seizures. Her eyes popped wide open.
"Sister! What's wrong!" The other one touched her sister
and began shaking too.
The other two stupidly tried to help their sisters and
now, all four girls were shaking, getting electricuted.
"Midnight Energy Bolts!" Jupiter Knight raised his
hands up high. Dark indigo lighting shot out from his sword
still laying on the ground and soared up the four girl's body.
They scorched and dissapeared with the ashes.
"Easy as pie," Jupiter Knight said and bent to get his
sword, which was harmless to him. He looked around for more
guards and found none. The front door was unguarded.
"This is too easy, it has to be a trap." Jupiter
Knight said to himself. He got a grip on the wide door and
pulled it open.
Almost immediatly, a longer sword swung down half
and inch by his shoulder. Jupiter Knight grabbed his sword
and brought it infront of him in a deffense stance. Four
men, wearing almost exactly the same things as the four girls
were glaring at him. All of them had their swords drawn.
"Ah, great. Target practice." Jupiter Knight mumbled.
"For us or for you?" One of the guards asked.
Jupiter Knight took a swing at them, but they blocked
with their bigger swords.
"Lightning lance!" Jupiter Knight shouted. In half
a second, his sword turned into a long lance. He stuck
the pointed end of the lance into someone's shoulder blade,
getting a loud yell as a result.
All five men were now outside, including Jupiter Knight.
They were dueling it out, despite the unfair advantage the
other side had.
Jupiter Knight was backing up, they were advancing
toward him. One guard stepped forward and took a hard swing
at him, trying to split his head in half. Jupiter Knight
raised his lance just in time to block the swing. A crack
arose as his lance cracked in half.
"Hey, my lance!" Jupiter Knight cried, holding the
two pieces.
"Ha! Weak stuff." The guard laughed.
"Oh yeah?" Jupiter Knight held the two pieces and
shouted, "Twin lighting daggers." The two pieces of his
once whole lance turned into small deadly daggers. He saw
there was only one way the daggers would hurt them. He knew
the daggers could not go through thick armor, so he had to aim
for the neck. He charged the daggers up with lightning.
In one swift motion, two daggers flew and implanted
themselves into a neck. The two injured guards let out
a yelp and dropped their swords, trying to take out the daggers.
"That's not the worst," Jupiter Knight said. He shouted,
"Midnight Energy Bolts!" the daggers' electricty shot out
and paralyzed the two guards. Eventually, they also turned
into ash and dissapeared.
"Two down, two more to go." Jupiter Knight counted.
Just then, a sword came crashing down on him. Out of instinct,
Jupiter Knight brought his hand up to intercept the would be
fatal blow. Forgetting that he had no hand protection on,
he felt the pain of a deep welt on his hand. Blood trickled down
his palm. Jupiter Knight ducked and rolled out of the way. He
brought his two hands up, and called back his daggers. The daggers
flew from the ground to his waiting hands.
Juptier Knight winced as he grabbed one dagger with his
hurt hand. He put the two daggers together. "Storm Sword!" He
shouted. Once again, his sword came into his hand. He
stuck it into the belly of an oncomming guard. The sword peirced
right through the guard's body. Jupiter Knight felt something
move swiftly behind him.
He felt the other guard strike down on his shoulder blade
and he sank to his knees. He tried to fight off the black pain
threatening to black him out. With all his strength, he took
the knife out of one guard and swung it with acuracy behind him.
He literally sliced the last guard in half at the
waist. Two half dead guards lay on the ground, unfocused eyes
on him. Jupiter Knight stuck the sword straight into the ground
and pulled himself up with such pain he bit onto his lip and made
it bleed. He struggled up and looked at the two pathetic forms
beneath him.
"I should let the two of you stay here, and suffer."
Jupiter Knight spat at them. "I should let the slow and painful
death come to you."
He raised his hand up, gasping as the wound on his shoulder
threatened to have his arm ripped off. "But that is inhumane."
He shouted, "Thunder!" All of a sudden, from no where,
thunder came and took those two bodies away, leaving only ashes
for the wind to take away.
Jupiter Knight saw his bloody white gloves. So soaked
they looked like they were red to start with. He rubbed his
injured shoulder, trying to see how injured it really was. When
he brought his hands to inspect the blood lost, he saw it wasn't
as bad as he predicted. It still hurt like hell, though.
He wanted to sit down, to lie down to rest. But he
knew he had to go on, no matter how tired and how much his
battered body protested. He picked up his sword, which was much
heavier than he remembered. Maybe it was all the blood on it.
The ingraving on the sword was covered in blood. Jupiter
Knight wiped the blood with his hand, until he could see the
sign of Jupiter and a bolt of lighting running through it.
Jupiter Knight walked painfully through the open door
and looked around, expecting an army of guards to come for him.
But he was greeted by silence. Something in the back of his
mind told him to look for the dungeon.
He thought. He saw another
wide oak door, looking pretty worn.
Jupiter Knight pulled open the door and looked in.
He could see cold stone steps leading down into something.
It was dark. He thought. The steps were deep, about
a foot steep each. He couldn't tell where the stair ended, since
it seemed to curve into a never ending abyss.
Stepping down into the dark passage way, Jupiter
Knight wished that he had more comfortable shoes on. He knew
what murder it would be when he had to run back up these
steps, if he had to. So far, on the way down, he had counted
more than twenty steps.
He clutched his shoulder as he went down. The sharp
pain had receeded into a dull one. He could feel the tips
of his fingers getting number. Was it a good thing or not,
he didn't know. He just knew that he had to get down as
fast as possible.
He thought to himself.
What if this was the trap, making him climb up and down
these damn steps for the rest of his life? No, they weren't
that smart, all those negaverse trash.
Finally, Jupiter Knight saw some light coming
from the bottom. Which meant the end of the steps. He gave
a sigh of relief. The light wasn't too bright, but it
beat the dark stairway.
He stepped on the bottom step and noticed a door
across from him. He thought to himself. That
door looked like an elevator door. Jupiter Knight cursed. His battered
body was already screaming out for attention, but he gave
it none.
He saw a long table in the middle of the room,
slightly tilted up, so that he couldn't see who was on
that table.
"Lita?" Jupiter Knight said softly. No answer.
He slowly walked toward the table,
dreading the thought of seeing Lita there with her insides
ripped out or something.
Jupiter Knight was now a foot away from the table,
he walked around it, staring at the floor. Fearing what
he would see.
"Ken?!" Lita's sweet voice called out.
Jupiter Knight's head snapped up, "Lita! You're okay!"
He looked at her. She didn't look hurt. Despite the cuffs
on her ankles and wrists, she looked pretty good.
"Jupiter Knight, what happened?" Lita could see
his gloves soaked in blood. Most of his clothes were splattered
with drops of fresh blood. She could see a dark red stain inback
of his shoulder, it looked pretty bad. "Are you okay?"
Jupiter Knight sighed, "Now that I know you're
okay, I am."
"You have to get out of here. You're in no shape
to fight. The Dark One is powerful. He said his son is
here too. The two of them will kill you if they find you
here!" Lita warned.
"No, not without you." Jupiter Knight said. He
examined the cuffs at her wrist. he thought,
"How did he get these things on you? There's no
opening in them. It's like he just welded it shut after
he put your hands in." Jupiter Knight mumbled.
"I don't know. I should have been awake, but
somehow, I was in deep sleep." Lita said shamefully.
"No, it's not your fault. He probably put on
some sleeping potion or something." Jupiter Knight said.
"Is he from the Negaverse?"
Lita thought about it, then shook her head. "No,
I don't think so. For one thing, he's pretty old. All the
men from the Negaverse are pretty young. Second, he
doesn't have that Negaverse feeling to him. Third, this
is not the Negaverse."
"An alien?" Jupiter Knight asked.
"No. I think he's human." Lita said.
"Impossible. No human can travel dimensions. Plus,
he has some pretty powerful guards. Almost like youmas."
Jupiter Knight said.
"We can travel dimensions." Lita pointed out.
"Yeah, but we aren't exactly normal humans."
Jupiter Knight said.
Both of them heard the creaks from the door with
the elevator.
"Ken, you have to go hide." Lita said urgently.
"Never. I'm going to face up to this guy. No
telling what he's going to do to you when I'm away."
Jupiter Knight said.
Lita had a thought. Greg and Rei both said that
it had something to do with Ken. The other all believed
Ken was going to be the one to kidnap and torture her. But
Ken was here, with her. So what did this have to do
with Ken beside the fact that he was here?
"Ken? Are you there?" Lita asked softly.
"What do you mean am I there? I'm here, aren't I?"
Jupiter Knight was confused. Maybe this guy had messed
up Lita's thinking or something. Maybe brainwashed her or
some other thing.
"No, I mean are you still Ken? Under Jupiter Knight?"
Lita asked. She felt silly for asking that.
"Of course I'm here, Li. Have a little faith." Ken's
boyish charm seeked through the warrior attitude, making Lita
feel relieved that Ken was still Ken.
A quiet banging noise told Lita that any second, the
Dark One would come out that door. "Ken! Go hide!" She
tried to force him again.
"No, I'm staying here with you." Jupiter Knight
stood his ground. He smoothed some stray hairs away from
her face, since she was unable to do it. He looked
at the door, took out his sword and stood the defensive
ground again. Sometimes, his pride and ego was just to
big for him.
He looked at his heavy sword. It would take more
effort now to hold it, since one of his arms were already
throbbing. He decided to change it into a lance.
"Lightning Lance," He said softly and let the
sword form into a new, unbroken whole lance. He held
it tightly, waiting for someone to come out of the
door.
Jupiter Knight thought. He tiptoed
behind the door and waited for it to open.
The door slammed open. It would have hit Jupiter
Knight, if he had not been quick enough to run out
of the way. When he regained his footing, Jupiter
Knight thrust the pointed end of the lance at
the man in the hooded trenchcoat.
It made a sickening sound as it sunk into the skin.
"Midnight Energy Bolts!" Jupiter Knight shouted. The
lightning shot into the man, but nothing else happened.
He stood there for a while, not doing anything.
Jupiter Knight could not believe his eyes. Why
wasn't anything happening. His powers had no affect on
the man. He took his lance out and saw the darkened
hole he made through the man. He could actually see
through it.
The man turned around and stared at Jupiter Knight.
Jupiter Knight kept staring at the hole. It miracously
healed itself, showing no more signs of injury other than
a dark stain on the coat.
"What the-" Jupiter Knight said.
The other man pointed a finger at him, mumbled
something.
"Shit!" Jupter Knight lept out of the way just
in time to save his head. Where his head was at, there
was a dark burnt hole in the wall.
"So, Shinosaki? Jupiter Knight? Still betraying
your own blood?" The Dark One asked, sneering.
Jupiter Knight thought.
"Don't you remember me?" The Dark One asked.
"Why? Should I? You old geezer!" Jupiter Knight
asked angrily. His power should have at least hurt this
old timer.
"Oh dear, it seems like they erased your memory
when you were reborn!" The Dark One said in a mock tone.
"But I see that you actually made it to being a Knight."
"Yeah, yeah. Get on with it." Jupiter Knight
was getting impatient with this old mumbling guy.
Lita was looking at this whole thing in awe. She
didn't see one ounce of fear in Jupiter Knight. Was he
brave? Or was he just stupid and think that he can
easily take the Dark One on by himself? Even when he's
injured? There was something very familiar between
the two men. She couldn't place her finger on it.
The Dark One actually smiled, "That's no way to
talk to your father......Son!" He said.
Jupiter Knight actually laughed. He thought.
Lita's eyes bugged out. That's it! That was what
was so familiar. She could see a little bit of resemblence.
They had the same facial features. But, the Dark One's
features were more stern, more old, giving him a sentinel
look of seriousness. Ken had the better of the features,
boyish, giving him the look of innocence most of the time.
Heck, even their hair, which was a different hue was of
the same color. She could see the Dark One's hair had once
been the same color as Ken's.
She heard Ken laughing. It was obvious that he thought
the Dark One was joking. But if the Dark One is evil, then
doesn't it run in the blood? Will Ken eventually turn evil
too?
"Have a little faith, Li." Ken's voice reminded her.
Lita said in her mind.
"So you don't believe me?" the Dark One asked, turning
away from him. "How can I make you believe me?" He asked,
rubbing his chin.
"How about....." The Dark One swiftly turned and
threw something out of his open hand at Jupiter Knight.
"THIS!"
Jupiter Knight didn't see that coming. He saw the
Dark One throw something at him, but couldn't feel it. It
was like a breeze.
Lita couldn't see what was thrown at Jupiter Knight,
but she saw him try to figure out what it was too.
Suddenly, everything clicked. Jupiter Knight
could recall most of his past in the Jupiter Kingdom. He
was Shinosaki! He remembered Princess Makoto, how she hated
being called Princess. He remembered how much time he spent
with her when he wasn't in Knight training or at home.
He remembered!
Jupiter Knight looked at the Dark One and realized,
He thought.
"So? Now do you remember?" The Dark One asked.
Jupiter Knight nodded.
"Remember putting dear old dad in the asylum?
Remember that?" The Dark One asked, his voice twisted.
Jupiter Knight nodded again.
"Remember how you betrayed me? We had plans, that
we would make it big! Remember? Remember that?" The
Dark One said loudly, as if by highering the decibles,
he could force Jupiter Knight to remember more.
He nodded again and gulped.
"I was doing it for us, son! And what did you do?"
The Dark One asked, glaring at him.
Jupiter Knight didn't know how to answer. Heck, he
couldn't remember the answer.
The Dark One kept on glaring at him, "Let me revive
the memory for you. YOU BETRAYED ME, YOUR OWN FATHER! FOR
HER! YOU BETRAYED ME FOR HER!" The Dark One was yelling
now, shaking the whole room. He pointed a bony finger
in Lita's direction.
Jupiter Knight remembered why, now. He remembered
why he had to lock his father up in the asylum. His
father was insane, mentally sick, looney, and crazy.
"Well, son. I'm back. For my revenge. I'm
giving you another chance, because you are my son. Do you
want to help me? Or shall I have to kill you too? It would
be a shame, for a father to kill his own son." The Dark One
said, shaking his head.
Jupiter Knight thought. Lita was right, he was in
no shape to fight. His only choice was to follow along, until
the last second, then again, he would have to betray him.
"Well?" The Dark One asked impatiently.
"Why don't you think this over? Do you really want
to get revenge? Why not just forget it all and live a normal
life?" Jupiter Knight asked, stalling.
"DO I WANT REVENGE? OF COURSE I DO!" The Dark One
shouted, "FORGET IT? HOW CAN I? I LIVED AN ETERNITY IN
THAT ASYLUM, THEN I HAD TO WATCH ONE BY ONE AS PEOPLE DIED
IN THE ACID RAIN. NO, SON. THE MEANING OF MY LIFE IS TO
KILL HER" He pointed to Lita, "MAKOTO IS THE ONE WHO IS GOING
TO SCREAM AND SQUIRM THIS TIME. DO YOU HEAR ME? YES, I AM
CRAZY. I ADMIT THAT!"
Jupiter Knight gulped. If this didn't work, there
would be no hope for him or Lita. He stepped forward.
"Yes," Jupiter Knight forced himself to say it,
"Father. I will join sides with you." He couldn't look
at Lita. She thought he betrayed her, betrayed their love.
No, he couldn't look at her, or he would crack down and both
of them would be dead.
The Dark One smiled, "Good. Now that's my son. Glad
to have you back."
