Taken from one of the most powerful animes ever made, Kabigami Jubei, is a wandering kensai (sword master) who makes his way through life by his blade. Jubei is a very skilled swordsman, who fights with his wits as well as his sword. This makes him a very dangerous opponent, especially since he has an unbending determination which will not accept defeat.

When a group of ninjas is sent to find out to investigate a mysterious plague that has been killing a nearby village, they are all ambushed by a powerful enemy. The only survivor, a ninja woman called Kagero, is captured by the demonic assailant. Jubei arrives and saves her from the seemingly impervious foe, who's very skin is made of stone. This begins a series of events where Jubei is forced to go up against the eight Devils of Kimon, and an old enemy...

His story is told in Ninja Scroll, one of my favorite animes of all time. You owe it to yourself to watch this anime. Your life will never be the same. Set in feudal Japan, Ninja Scroll is a serious, fast-paced anime full of action and intrigue. For those of you who thrive on lightning-action and the mysterious ninjas of old, Ninja Scroll is a must-see. Be warned, however, that Ninja Scroll has some very heavy hentai scenes and a tragic ending.

However, it is still one of the best animes ever made, in my humble opinion, and deserves a space in every otaku's closet.
