Old-Fashioned Pea Soup

1 lbs. dried peas
left over ham, chopped
1 carrot, diced
1/4 cup barley
1 medium onion, chopped
1 cup diced potatoes
4 cups chicken broth
4 cups water
salt and pepper
1. Soak peas overnight. Drain.
2. In large pot over low heat, cook all ingredients for 4 to 5
hours, stirring occasionally.
