Lasagna

1 lb. ground beef
1 onion, chopped
1-28oz. can tomatoes
1-12oz. can tomato paste
1 tablespoon sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1/2 teaspoon oregano leaves
1/2 teaspoon thyme leaves
1/2 teaspoon red pepper
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1 bayleaf
2/3 16oz package lasagna noodles
2 eggs
1-15oz. ricotta cheese
16oz. shredded mozzarella cheese
1. In large pot over high heat, cook beef and onion until beef is
browned. Add tomatoes(including liquid), sugar, salt and other
spices until boiling.
2. Reduce heat to low; cover and simmer 30 minutes, stirring
occasionally.
3. Discard bayleaf. Spoon off fat if there's any.
4. Cook lasagna according to the package directions.
5. In 13x9 baking pan, arrange half of lasagna, overlapping to
fit. Preheat oven to 375F.
6. In a small bowl, combine eggs and ricotta.
Spoon one-half of this mixture over lasagna.
Sprinkle with one-half mozzarella.
top with one-half meat sauce.
Repeat layers. Bake in oven for 45 minutes.
