Balsamic Flank Steak

Found in The Family Circle Cookbook

4 Servings

1 1/4 pounds flank steak, trimmed
1/3 cup oil-based Italian dressing
3 tablespoons balsamic vinegar (aceto Balsamico)
1/4 teaspoon pepper

1. Combine steak, dressing, vinegar and pepper in food-storage bag. Secure with twist tie and marinate for 10 minutes.

2. Meanwhile, preheat broiler.

3. Remove steak from the marinade. Discard any excess marinade.

4. Broil steak 6 inches from heat for 4 minutes each side for medium-rare or as desired. Let stand 5 minutes. Slice thinly across the grain.

*Do not substitute wine vinegar for balsamic vinegar!!
Here are other uses for balsamic vinegar
Sprinkle on fresh fruit or ice cream (use aged vinegar, at least 8 years)
Drizzle vinegar with extra-virgin olive oil on salad.
When you cook steak (or any meat), simply boil balsamic vinegar and red wine in the same pan to make a delicious steak sauce.
