Yuu-Yuu Hakusho is an action based series that relies heavily on Japanese mythology and legend. The anime was originally a manga series, both of which did very well in Japan. The manga series had 19 books while the anime ran for a total of 112 episodes. This may seem small in comparsion to some series (Dragonball for example) but I like Yuu-Yuu the best anyway.

The series follows the exploits of one Urameshi Yuusuke, a teen that unintentionally becomes a detective for the Rei-kai (spirit world). Joining him in his adventures are Kuwabara Kazuma (my fave ^_^), Kurama, and Hiei. Together they apprehend fugitives from Rei-kai and Makai (hell), as well as stop invasions by power hungry Makai denizens. From school yard brawls to a Black Martial Arts Tournament , this series has it all! Get into it and I'm sure that you'll grow to love it as much as I do.

Some terms you'll find that you may not recognize:

• Rei-kai: Spirit world
• Makai: Hell
• Nin-Gen-kai: Human world
• rei-: spirit, this is the prefix used in Yuusuke and Kuwabara's techniques
• youkai: supernatural creature, monster (this is not always a bad thing; Hiei and his sister Yukina are youkai)
