When we recommend historical sites for the reader, it is important that these sites offer some detailed, relavent information of Philippine history.

Because of the number of sites available, on the Internet, a guide was created for determing eligibility of a site. The criteria used when recommending a site is the following:

• General Philippine History

  The following four areas are examined :

  Accuracy

  Any recommended site should contain accurate information concerning the Philippines. This information should be of the type that is verifiable by multiple sources.

  Non-bias

  True history attempts to tell a living story. This story, although told by individuals, should appear to be non-bias. It should reflect facts and personal insights of the peoples, laws and beliefs of the time period.

  General Details or a Specific Period

  The content should be sufficient to satisfy the average persons thirst for knowledge. If is covers a specific period of history it should attempt to cover that period in detail.

  Theories

  If any theories are offered, they should be substantiated with sufficient background information that the reader can reference for verification.

• Archaeological History

  The following four areas are examined :

  Accuracy

  Again any site based on ancient history, should be as accurate as possible.

  Significance

  Any site of ancient or pre-historic history should contain information that is significant to the islands of the Philippines, rather than a small footnote. If the site contains Far Eastern information that is related to the Philippines, it will be considered.

  Theories/Postulates

  Any theory that is forwarded, should be offered with sufficient documentary, or photographic support to lend credibility to the theory being forwarded.

  Detailed

  The site should have more than a simple outline of headings. It should contain sufficient information to supply the reader with, at a minimum, a rudimentary understanding of the purpose of the site.

We are always looking for new sites that relate to the history of the Philippines.
