SINGAPORE CATS
SINGAPORE CATS
A recently founded association of persons of good intent is
dedicated to defending stray cats in Singapore. The CAT WELFARE SOCIETY consists of people from all walks of life. Their main goal is to improve the fate of street cats and also to protect general animal rights in Singapore. |
A recent TV interview of some of the society's members and the report that
they gave on the Singapore cats had a tremendous impact on the general
public. But more is still to be done... ![]() FUNDING The CAT WELFARE SOCIETY needs more funds to assist them in their crusade to help the street cats. On top of that, a growing membership will show that many people in Singapore are concerned about the welfare of these gentle animals. Foreign memberships and support are also most welcome. CONTROL OF STRAY CAT POPULATION The CAT WELFARE SOCIETY has started a widespread program for the sterilization of street cats in order to reduce the rapid growth of the stray cat population. If no such active population control measures are taken, more problems will only be created. The society also rescue cats, gets stray cats off the streets, and relocates them either by adoption or by placement in foster homes. CATS ABUSE IN SINGAPORE The abuse of stray cats is still too common in the Lion City, and the CAT WELFARE SOCIETY is actively promoting the respect of these animals. It is doing everything possible to publicize the worst cases of animal abuse. Therefore, another important direction that they want to take is to foster public awareness and comprehension of cats as domestic animals, preferably with the help of the authorities and educational programs. ![]() We sincerely think that this association is on the right track to help stray cats and to improve the Singaporean attitude towards street cats. |
