How Clow cards came about

The Clow cards were invented by a man. They were kept in a book and there were two guardians who looked after the Clow cards and made sure that the Clow did not escape and create havoc in the world.

How Sakura came about

Sakura was just an ordinary schoolgirl. She found a book called "The Clow" in her father's library and opened it. Out came a doll-like creature(mouse, lion, rabbit?) called Cerberus. He discovered that the Clow cards were not in "The Clow" and entrusted the task of finding the Clow cards to Sakura.
