This game was the first challenge for Shohoku. Shoyo(µ¾ ¶§ °ª ®Õ) was expected to be the second best team in Kanagawa province (¯« ©` ¤t). Shoyo (µ¾ ¶§)'s players were very tall. It's center, Toru Hanagata¡]ªá§Î³z) was a good shooter and defender. Shoyo was nine points ahead in the first half.
In the second half, Rukawa showed his power and scored many points. Shohoku was one point ahead. Shoyo's captain and coach, Kenji Fujima (Ãà ¯u), had to play at this moment. This game was even harder for Shohoku. Kainan (®ü «n ¤j ªþ ÄÝ) was the best team in Kanagawa province (¯« ©` ¤t).They had archived 17 years province championship. But Shohoku's players did not give up. They performed their best and gave Kainan a very tough time. Kainan's captain, Shinichi Maki(ªª²Ô¤@), had to use all his skills in order to defeat Shohoku.In the last minute, ®ü «n was 2 points ahead, Sakuragi got an offensive rebound and tried to send it to Akagi. However, he sent it to Kainan's center (This guy looks liked Akagi). Finally time up. ®ü «n won the game.

ªZ ¨½ °ª ®Õ was the weakest team among the four teams. It lost a game to Ryonan previously. Both and ªZ ¨½ had to win in order to go the national tournament. Sakuragi slept overtime and missed the game. But this did not matter because ªZ ¨½ was too weak. won the game easily.

Both teams had to win ! In the first half, Rukawa kept his energy and did not very well. He only scored 2 points. But Mitsui hit many 3-pointers.
In the second half, Rukawa exploded ! He started to challenge Sendoh(¥P¹D¹ü). In addtion, Jun Uozumi¡] ³½ ¦í ¯Â ¡^committed four fouls and left the game. After that Akagi scored many points under the net. Ryonan was far behind until Uozumi returned.
Soon Mitsui was very tired. Sendoh took this chance and attack quickly. He passed Rukawa and shooted. In fact, no one could stop him. Rukawa was very angry and attacked back. But Sendoh's skill was still a little better than Rukawa's. Ryonan was only 2 points behind. At this important time, Sakuragi successfully blocked both Sendoh's and Uozumi's attacks. Shohoku High School Vs Shoyo-Ryonan (µ¾³®°ª®Õ)

Introduction Shohoku team, except Sanamichi Sakuragi¡]Äå¤ìªá¹D¡^, went to Jousei High School (±` ¸Û °ª ®Õ) for training and practicing. They had three games against Jousei H.S. with 1 victory, 1 tie, and 1 lost. At the same time in Shohoku H.S. , coach Mitsuyoshi Anzai taught Sakuragi jump shot skill. With the help of Sakuragi's friends and Haruko, Sakuragi made 20,000 shot within a week ! After the team was back, Sakuragi wanted to show off his progress and challenge his teammates. At that moment, Kenji Fujima¡] Ãà ¯u °· ¥q ¡^ and Toru Hanagata¡] ªá §Î ³z ¡^ visited Shohoku, as a result, this super game happen.
In the beginning, Shohoku team has Sanamichi Sakuragi(Äå ¤ì),Kaede Rukawa, Hisashi Mitsui (¤T ¤«), Ryota Miyagi, and Akagi. Shoyo-Ryonan only has Fujima, Hanagata, Jun Uozumi¡] ³½ ¦í ¯Â ¡^ , and two other players (Sorry , I don’t know their names). Shohoku played well and led for most of the game in the first half. However, Akira Sendoh¡] ¥P ¹D ¹ü ¡^ joined Shoyo-Ryonan team in the middle of the first half. He pull up Shoyo-Ryonan’s score quickly.
In the second half, Kiccho Fukuda¡] ºÖ ¥Ð ¦N ¥ü ¡^ also joined the game and made the game even more exciting. Soon Shoyo-Ryonan was in the better side and led the game. Coach Anzai didn’t ask for a break. He believed that his students would win the game without his strategy. Sakuragi tried to jump shoot several times but fail to score. Everyone laughed at him and very disappointed about his “progress”. Meanwhile Rukawa tried to beat Sendoh because he wanted to become the number 1 player in Japan. Rukawa scored a lot and proved that his skill was better than Sendoh’s. Sakuragi was very angry. Uozumi missed a shot and Miyagi attacked back quickly. He sent the ball to Sakuragi, this time, Sakuragi successfully made a beautiful jump shot. Then Miyagi sent the ball to Sakuragi again and he made another shot. Everyone was surprised.
