Ritsuko Akagi, age 30 is the brilliant head scientist of NERV, and head of the "E-project". She has been a friend of Misato Katsuragi and Ryouji Kaji since they studied together in their youth. Ritsuko is uneasy with some of the secrets her postion in NERV demands she keeps.
