After months of waiting, Jinpachi gets a reply to one of the ads. It is from Hiiragi, who says he has also found Shusuran. Jinpachi, Issei, Alice, and Rin (Rin insisted that he should go even though no one knows he is a reincarnated Moon Scientist) go to Yokohama, to see Hiiragi.  Hiiragi explains his real name is Daisuke and Shusuran is Sakura. He tells the others how the met and talks about how a virus killed the moon scientists. He then goes on to talk about how important this discovery of theirs is, and how it doesn't fit in with the rest of the chain of evolution.

At this point, Rin begins to recite his theories on evolution and tells everyone that he is the incarnation of Shukaido. Everyone is shocked at his young age and he explains that this is second time to be reincarnated. Alice then blames herself for his awakening to his previous life.

Haruhiko, the final moon scientist, is discovered by Rin later. Haruhiko is friends with Mr. Tamura, the caretaker of Takashi.  Rin needs all seven moon scientists' key words to shut down the Moon Base using Tokyo Tower. He decides to use Haruhiko to get Alice's keyword. He tells everyone that Haruhiko is Shion (Rin is lying, HE is actually Shion and Haru is Shukaido. He does this because he knows Alice doesn't like him the way she loved Shion when she was Mokuren, and he needs someone he knows she would like to draw her out and give him the keyword).

After many death threats to Mr. Tamura, Haruhiko agrees to say he is Shion. Haru tried many times to commit suicide to get away from Rin. After Mr. Tamura gets word of what has been happening to Haru, he contacts one of his friends, Yakushimaru. He asks Yakushimaru if his brother still is a psyhic, he says "Yeah, I'll call him." Mr. Tamura isn't very eager to see Mikuro, Yakushimaru's brother, because of his strange attitude. Mikuro is an Earth Esper, which means he has psyhic powers that are much like the Moon Scientists, except he is from Earth, and hasn't been reincarnated.  After Tamura explains what has been happening to Haruhiko,(like teleporting while holding onto him) Mikuro explains that usually when someone teleports they take the person holding them with them. He says he's never heard of anything like that happening before and says "Maybe he's not human."
    After Mikuro meets Haru, Haruhiko thinks he works for Rin. When he confronts Rin about this (big mistake). Rin says he doesn't know Mikuro, and  says he will kill Tamura. Later a battle ensues and Mikuro almost kills Rin. Rin flashes back to his younger days as Shion, and the anime ends with a montage of what happens in the rest of the manga.
