Kamo-san reflects back on a past conversation with Nidaime (2nd generation).

Nidaime: "---Lately, when I look at him, it makes me wonder...... ---Is the path that I always thought was right really right---... ---Maybe we've done something that cannot be changed---... ---Kamojima, have you ever seen him (Ryuji) smile---...?"

Kamo-san: {---That was at the beginning of last summer, the one worry I heard from Nidaime's mouth---...} Kamo-san is seated in front of the altar/shrine. Kamo-san gazes up at the framed photo of Nidaime. "...Nidaime... It's all right... There's nothing to worry about... ...Sandaime has begun to show some emotion... although in front of the kumiin he is still hard...... But he has come to show me a smile once in a while." {---I wished that you could see it too...... Sandaime's smiling face---...}

Nidaime had said: "---If I ever get to see Ryuji's smile ---Then it would be easier for me to leave when my life span is over---..."

Kamo-san: {...And not even a month after saying that you left......} Tears well in his eyes. "......"{It's because you had to say something like that~~~!!!} He wipes away his tears, saying that when one gets older, one also gets more teary...

A voice is heard close by.

"You---! You, you."

"BAKA-RYUJI---!" The yell is followed by thundering footsteps.

Kamo-san freaks out: "!!"

"How many times do I have to tell you not to come in when I'm changing---!"

Ryuji: "What's wrong it's not like it's going to decrease or anything." [Ryuji's talking about her body size.]

Kamo-san looks around the door frame to see Tsukasa whipping her chain trying to hit Ryuji. Ryuji however is managing to avoid any contact with the chain while his hands are in his pockets.

Bun-san, who just happens to be there: "Hey! Tsu-bo---!" He doesn't look pleased.

Kamo-san: {---Nidaime, the biggest reason that Sandaime has been slowly changing is,}

Tsukasa: "I'm angry 'cause it's not something that'll decrease when they're looked at-!!"

Bun-san: "Kamojima-san, don't smile but stop them!"

Kamo-san: {Because of Tsukasa-san---}

Tsukasa: "If they would shrink when someone looks at them then I'd like that! Especially around here!" She pats her chest. {They get in the way dammit!}

Ryuji, looking serious all of the sudden: "...That would be a problem. There would be no fun when I strip you."

Tsukasa, looking totally confused: "...... ...What fun?"

Ryuji leans over and whispers in her ear: {You know} "What."

Tsukasa looks even more confused: "...I can't keep up with your jokes......" {I asked what and you answer with "what". I don't understand that.} "Is that really a joke...?" {You better study that a bit more.} She starts walking away.

Ryuji: "......"

Kamo-san: "..."

Ryuji, pouting: "...Hey, do I look like a person who jokes around...?"

Kamo-san: "If you're so indirect like that Tsukasa-san won't understand it." {In this type of talk she's 3 times slower than other people.} "You have to be more straight."

In the background, Tsukasa spies Muko.

Tsukasa: "Hey Muko!"

Muko: "Hey! Going to school now?"

Tsukasa: "Yup."

Ryuji, to Kamo-san: "Have sex with me?"

Kamo-san: "That's too straight! When you finish saying that your head and torso will no longer be attached." {In Tsukasa-san's case,} "You have to confess and say sukida! Sandaime, to drop a person like that, to rush things is not a good idea." [sukida = I love you. Unfortunately, it can also mean I like you... very confusing... but usually it's translated as love... I think...]

Bun-san, looking concerned at Kamo-san's side: "......!"

Ryuji: "......... ...Is that something I can say?"

Kamo-san, looking confused: "...Hai?"

Ryuji, looking very serious: "...Is that a word a guy can say to a girl?"

Kamo-san: "...Of course..."

Ryuji: "Oh. I always thought that it was something a girl said to a guy......... Oh...... ...So I can say it..." {H~m. So I don't have to think of smooth words...} He starts walking away.

Kamo-san and Bun-san: "......"

Ryuji: {Since it was always girls that came and said that to me...}

Kamo-san, smiling: {---Nidaime...... I've seen another side of Sandaime---...}

At school.

Tsukasa and Ryuji arrive at school.

Toshi and Sho: "Tsukasa------!!"

Tsukasa: "Toshi! Sho---!!!"

They show their skinship by wrestling because they managed to survive the winter holidays without getting into trouble.

"Tsukasa, you're always so active."

Tsukasa: "A! Yabu, Izushi---!"

Yabu and Izushi: "Hey!"

She tries wrestling with them too but they complained it hurt.

Asago appears: "...What is that... They're so happy just because they're not expelled."

Ryuji: "...Asago...... I appreciated your help in that incident......"

Asago: "...I just..." {---When you say it like that ...it hurts...} "...Father and I just obeyed your wish in doing things your way..." {---Because... ---Because I...}

Tsukasa: "Did you guys skip work during the holidays?"

Toshi: "No way... We went."

Sho: "Though we almost got into trouble..." {It was okay.}

Tsukasa: "Trouble?"

Sho: "Remember when the police came to school and there was that one cop that didn't seem to like Sandaime?"

Tsukasa recalls the face of the cop [Akira]: {...Oh... Him.}

Sho: "He stopped us on our way to work."

Tsukasa: "Huh!?" She recalls the cop saying that he never forgot the face of someone he's met before. "Did he realize who you were!?"

Sho shakes his head: "He asked 'Did I meet you somewhere?' and to that we answered 'no'. Then he said 'This isn't a place for minors to be playing. Go play somewhere else.' And then he let us go. We disguised ourselves (well more like changing our hairstyles) as usual......" {So maybe he didn't recognize us.}

Tsukasa: "......" {Still... could he have...... ---protected us...?}

In the principal's office.

Vice principal: "You've done well. You've kept your promises."

Yabu, Izushi, Toshi, Sho, Tsukasa and Ryuji are standing in a line facing the vice principal. Everyone is smiling except Ryuji. "As promised, you will not be expelled."

Tsukasa: "Ryuji. It was good that we went around to all of the clans and lower your head (bow) to the kumiin and have their help!"

Sho: "E?"

The vice principal and Shige-chan [the principal]: "E?"

Sho: "Sandaime went and did something like that!?" {For a kumicho to lower his head like that!}

Tsukasa: "Vice principal, Shige-chan, while Ryuji is the head of Kuryugumi, Kuryugumi won't do anything that will deface Rokuo's name. Ryuji has that much power."

Ryuji: "---..." He glances back at Kamo-san.

Kamo-san: "..."

Tsukasa: "And on top of that, while I'm by his side, I'll watch over him for life to make sure that he doesn't get expelled." She points at Ryuji who's standing behind her.

Ryuji starts: {---For life!?}

Kamo-san also starts: {For life...?}

The vice principal: "...For life...?"

Ryuji [I think]: "What do you mean for life?" {Am I gonna be a student forever?}

Tsukasa belts Ryuji in the stomach with a back fist. Ryuji glares at her.

The vice principal laughs: "I'll be looking forward to that Kozuki-kun."

Tsukasa, thumbs up: "Hai!"

In the hallways.

Kamo-san, sneaking up behind Tsukasa: "Tsu-ka-sa-sa~~~~~~n~~~© "

Tsukasa, feeling her back shiver: "Don't talk into my ear like that all of the sudden!"

Kamo-san: "Fu fu fu fu." [Japanese way of laughing]

Ryuji spots Asago by the window. It looks like something's bothering her. He walks over and pats her head.

Asago: "...Ryuji......"

Ryuji: "...What's wrong...?"

Asago doesn't answer at first. "....... ...Nothing..."

Ryuji: "---... Is it Shibata...?"

Asago whirls around to stare at Ryuji.

A little distance away.

Kamo-san repeats Tsukasa's earlier words, saying it sounded like a [marriage] proposal.

Tsukasa, blushing, and yelling vehemently: "I'm telling you that it was a mistake!!"

Kamo-san: "Don't say that~~~ How about really looking after Sandaime for life?" He smiles slyly.

Tsukasa: "...W..."

Bun-san: "......!"

Tsukasa: "What are you saying!? Looking after him for life is Asago's job isn't it? Isn't that why she's the seisai candidate!? It doesn't involve me!" She whirls around to walk away when she spots Ryuji and Asago. Asago is looking down while Ryuji has his hand on her hair. "......" {...It doesn't involve me!} She stalks away.

Bun-san: "...Kamojima-san... ...I've been wondering for awhile but... By any chance Kamojima-san, ...are you trying to get Sandaime and Tsu-bo together?"

Kamo-san, bluntly: "I am." {Something wrong with that?}

Bun-san, exasperated: "Kamojima-san!!! Sandaime has Asago-san as a Durga candidate!?"

Kamo-san, bluntly: "What's wrong with having 2 'Durgas'?"

Bun-san: "What are you!!"

Kamo-san: "It's not like it never happened."

Bun-san, seriously: "Are you talking about Hogou's Durga...?" [Hogou is short for Hogougumi, another kumi] "The legendary one that those in this world (of the gokudo) would know of..." {The kage no seisai... who supported the powerless legal wife as a right hand woman...!?} [kage no seisai = shadow/hidden wife] "That's impossible! That was an exception! It only worked because she had a close relation to the legal wife! It's impossible with that Tsu-bo and Asago-san!! You know that they already don't get along!? And most of all, if we were to make an honest person to be the seisai, the clans of Kuryugumi will never allow this! There are more than enough clan members with daughters who are trying for the position, so if we were to try to make Tsu-bo the seisai, there will be an internal conflict!"

Kamo-san starts.

Bun-san: "...You know... there is a clan who is most likely to start such a thing..."

Kamo-san: "...The Gold Dragon Clan..."

Bun-san, nodding: {That's right.}

Kamo-san: {...I know...... just how dangerous it is to make Tsukasa-san the Durga...... ...but...} He recalls Ryuji's smile the other day. {---...}

After school.

Tsukasa: "...E? ...Can you say that again Ryuji-kun?"

Ryuji: "...I'll give you a break. For this weekend, go home to your brothers."

Tsukasa, looking at him in disbelief: "...... ...What does that mean...?"

Ryuji: "I'm sure you miss your brothers."

Tsukasa: "......"

Ryuji puts his arm around Asago: "All you have to do is come back when the weekend's over. You haven't been home once during the winter break. Take it easy." Ryuji, Asago and his bodyguards walk off, leaving Tsukasa in surprise.

In the streets.

Tsukasa: {What's that!! What was that!! Though all these times I've repeatedly asked again and again and again and again while crying that I wanted to go home he wouldn't let me!!! What do you mean 'Take it easy'!! A-----!!! I'm pissed [She says 'I'm pissed' 6 times] She stops suddenly. {...Why am I pissed...? ---When I can finally go home---...} "I don't get it. Oh well. I least I can go home© " She starts skipping down the sidewalk.

Tsukasa overhears voices.

Girl: "Hey, there's a girl surrounded there. Should we call the police?"

Guy: "Don't bother. You don't know if they're going to do anything to her yet, plus the police can't do anything unless something's happened." Tsukasa sees a girl surrounded by 3 guys.

Girl: "Then what should we do~~~?"

Guy: "Just leave them alone. It doesn't involve you. If you want to live long, then just worry about yourself." He puts his arm around her and the couple leaves as she agrees.

Tsukasa: "---..." {...I know that not everyone wants to ignore what's happening to others but... ...If only they had a bit more courage---...}

The girl who's surrounded by 3 guys: "...If you touch me I'll blow away those ugly faces and your brains."

The guys: "With self defense weapons? Or with self defense!?" They laugh.

One of the guys: "Don't be so stubborn. I'm just saying let's do something good." He touches one of her breasts and slides his other hand under her short skirt.

The girl draws a gun: "I'll shoot."

The guys look at her in surprise and burst out laughing.

She shoots.

The guys: "...You're serious......"

The guy who touched the girl: "...You bitch..."

He kicks at her and the gun clatters to the ground. The girl belts the guy in the stomach but he only laughs and says that it didn't hurt. He pushes her back to the ground.

The girl: "Kyaaa!"

Tsukasa appears, blowing a whistle. "Hey you guys! You were hurting her weren't you?"

The guys: "...... ...... R... Run---!"

Tsukasa: "E?"

The guys start running but are caught in some string like thing that's shot out from a wrist band contraption. The guys fall to the ground.

Some cop: "You're under arrest for attempted rape."

Tsukasa looks up at the cop. It's the cop that keeps showing up everywhere.

The cop: "...E? Hey kid!"

Cop: "...So you're not expelled."

Tsukasa: "Yeah."

Cop: "Great!" He smiles.

Tsukasa: {What's with him...... At school he seemed so mean......}

The cop helps the girl up: "...By the way, I came here because I heard gunfire. Wasn't it here?"

Tsukasa, who's hiding the gun behind her school bag and school jacket: "E... No... I don't know......"

The cop: "...I see..."

Girl: "Hey."

Cop: "E?"

Girl: "Can I go now?"

Cop: "Wait! I'll have you come down to the station."

Girl, ticked off: "You've got to be kidding! I can't go to the police!!"

Cop: "---...Are you a runaway girl? ...Wait... girl......?" {Are you over 20?}

Girl, very pissed off: "I'm 18!"

Tsukasa [I think]: {...She looks old...}

Cop: "...Then tell me your name, address and phone number. I'll contact your parents."

Girl, snickering: "...Then call Kuryugumi......"

Tsukasa and the cop start.

The cop, glaring all of the sudden: "---... ...What did you say......?"

Girl: "Kuryugumi. You know right? I'm a member of one of the Kuryugumi clans."

Cop: "...Clans...?"

Tsukasa: "Which Clan from Silver, Red, Purple, Green, White, Black, Blue and Gold?"

The girl: "...Gold."

Cop: "...One of the head clans... Wasn't it that when Odawaragumi disbanded Shibatagumi took over the position..."

Tsukasa starts at that name: {Odawara...!? The guy that killed Mom and Dad...!!}

The cop doesn't look pleased at all and is glaring.

Girl: "---That's right... I'm Shibata Azumi, daughter of Shibata Hiroto, leader of the Gold Dragon Clan. I came here to usurp the seisai position from Sumongumi's Sumon Asago of the Silver Dragon Clan.

Tsukasa: {E......!?}

[ What? You want me to describe Azumi? (Have a look at a picture of her in the profiles section.) Well, she looks like a female version of Ryuji (with the same eyes) with long hair and big ones. She has an attitude problem and wears a lot of make up. She's wearing a very short skirt, a strapless shirt, a jacket and enough jewellery. She's also older, 18, but she doesn't look it, but then again, Ryuji doesn't either but he's only 14!!]
