[Cool picture. Tsukasa and Asago (kinda) back to back, and Ryuji in front of them]

At the Kuryugumi main house.

Asago, looking worried: "...Ryuji... I really can't come with you...?"

Ryuji turns back to look at her: "......"

Asago: "...A. It's... not that I'm worried about being left alone or anything... Just..."

Ryuji: "...It's a strict deal made between fellow members of the same trade. You know that don't you.....?"

Asago: {---Both sides promised only 2 bodyguards......} "---...Yeah..." {---I know...... I know... But I have this bad feeling---...}

Ryuji: "N?"

He spots Tsukasa trying to sneak away.

Tsukasa: "!" She starts shuffling away.

Ryuji takes this huge gun [out of nowhere] and fires it at Tsukasa. A rope shoots out, and Ryuji yanks her back.

Tsukasa: "WAAA!"

Ryuji, with Tsukasa in a head lock: "...Why do you escape......"

Tsukasa, looking cute: "Escaping? I'm not escaping." {I just felt like running all of the sudden...}

Ryuji: "At least see me out the door, you are a bodyguard."

Tsukasa, walking with her hands behind her head: "Eeeeh? How Troublesome~~~~~ Plus I'm not even your bodyguard today anyway~~~"

Ryuji: "...You~~~ You don't look worried about me even though I may be getting into a dangerous situation......" {Did you say it was troublesome?}

Tsukasa, avoiding his eyes: "OH? Wasn't it that if you had to be protected by others all the time you couldn't call yourself an adult?"

Ryuji: "...... ...Where are you looking when you're talking? ...Why don't you look at me?"

Tsukasa, begins to sweat, but doesn't look at him: "......"

Ryuji, turning her face to face him: "Look this way."

Tsukasa: "!!" She turns bright red: "You're going to be late for the promised time!! Stop playing and get outta here---!!" She gets this huge iron ball that fits over her left fist [from somewhere] and belts Ryuji with it. Breathing heavily, she dumps the iron ball. "......"

Ryuji's words echo in her mind.

"---Why don't you look at me?"

Tsukasa: "---..." {Of course I can't...... To see a friend's scene like that all of the sudden...... I feel like I saw something I shouldn't have. I don't know how to look at you now! ---And when I'm trying to be considerate like this...} She starts walking.

Flashback of yesterday, after Tsukasa caught Ryuji and Asago kissing.

Ryuji, with no emotion: "...What... Did something happen.....?"

Asago just glared at her.

Tsukasa: {He didn't even look embarrassed or flustered...... What kind of nerves does the guy have...!} She stops for a moment. {---...Maybe it wasn't... a big deal for him...... ...I mean... this is Ryuji we're talking about...... ---Maybe it's just that I never knew about them. There's always guards around Ryuji, so maybe to do things like that in front of people is no problem and he's used to it...... ---He's done it enough--- to be used to it---...} She suddenly feels a twinge of pain in her left shoulder [breast ?]. "!!? .....?" {---...What's this.....?}

Outside the main house.

Ryuji: "...I'm leaving now."

Asago: "...Be careful..."

Ryuji: "...Aah......" He glances over at Tsukasa. She catches his eye, then looks the other way. Ryuji stares back.

Kamo-san: "......"

The car drives away. Asago watches until it's out of sight.

She grabs someone's collar and starts shaking the person violently.

Asago: "You---! What are you planning!! What are you going to do to my Ryuji!? Spit it out you brat---!!" She has Yuuwa by the collar. He breaks free from her grip and kicks at her.

Yuuwa: "You're taking your time with the questioning. Leaving me to wait a whole night like this. And then what? Finally a interrogater comes and it's a girl? Aren't we (Sakahogigumi) being underestimated. ---Or is it that Kuryugumi's young kumicho doesn't have the courage to do me in or the nerve to take up our challenge?"

Asago, getting angry: "Wh...... I only left you the night because Ryuji ordered it, saying that questioning you would be pointless!!"

Yuuwa looks stunned: "What... he's not as much as a kid as I thought."

Asago: "Be quiet!!"

Yuuwa sits down: "...And? That you're here now to interrogate me does that mean you were frightened by my father's call?"

Asago, with her arms crossed: "He's already left for the agreed time and place, and only with 2 bodyguards as promised!!"

Yuuwa, seriously: "If Sandaime kumicho Shirogami Ryuji dies now, who's the succeeder of Kuryugumi.....?"

Asago glares at him.

Sound effects of her slapping him.

On the roadway to the Tokyo Washington Hotel.

Bun-san (driving): "...Sandaime..."

Ryuji: "...What?"

Bun-san: "...It's not too late yet. Should we not increase our numbers---...?"

Along the roadside are numerous cars parked and many kumiin staring at their car. [They don't look too friendly.]

Ryuji eyes the situation: "...It doesn't matter... Go on..."

Bun-san, turning around to look at him: "...Eh... But..."

Ryuji: "...Go."

Bun-san: "Hai."

At the entrance of the hotel, Ryuji is greeted by a single man. [Probably a bodyguard.]

Man: "Kumicho, Kuryugumi's Sandaime has arrived."

Sakahogi is seated, and takes a good look at Ryuji: "---... ---That only the three of you actually came. The rumours about your courage are true..."

Ryuji: "...Wasn't that the deal.....?"

Sakahogi: "---... ...Didn't you think it was dangerous seeing the numbers outside?"

Ryuji: "...A~Ah...... ...If there were guns flashed there then it would have spoiled the scene......" Ryuji seats himself without being asked.

Sakahogi: "...?"

Ryuji: "...If you wanted to assassinate me then you didn't need the staged passageway. If you called me out and there wasn't a reception, I would have been suspicious."

Sakahogi: "..."

Ryuji, looking him in the eye: "---It's as if you are testing me---..."

Sakahogi: "---... ... You saw through it all..." He brings out a manila envelope. "...Forgive me...... In this world, you don't need to spy to get information. For rumours of someone to be spread naturally like this is proof that the person's well made. I've heard rumours about you from time to time... but after having my son show me these pictures had me fooled...... And I couldn't help but to test you like that---..."

Ryuji receives the envelope and opens it up. Kamo-san and Bun-san are looking over his shoulder.

Bun-san: "Ah!"

Kamo-san: "These are pictures from the festival after the exams!! When were these taken!?"

[The pictures are hilarious. I'll be kind enough to describe them for the visually impaired. Tsukasa somehow got a hold of face paint and had whiskers painted on Ryuji's face. She also had a mask of a octopus(?) strapped to the side of his head, and bells and stars on the ends of "antennae" coming out of the top of his head. I don't know how she managed to get him to do that though. In the first picture, they both get fried squid speared on a chopstick. Asago is in the back with her hands to her face screaming in horror. In the next photo, Ryuji leans over and grabs a bite off Tsukasa's squid as she's taking a bite. Asago is in the back with her hands to her face screaming in horror. In the next one, Tsukasa is red in the face and had punched Ryuji, sending him and the squids flying. Asago is in the back with her hands to her face screaming in horror. Another one shows Tsukasa fishing for goldfish or something, with both Ryuji and Kamo-san looking over her shoulder.]

Apparently Yuuwa had said something along the line of "Look! This Shirogami Ryuji's true face!! Look Father!!" when he had handed over the pictures.

Sakahogi: "...I heard that Sandaime you were still 14, so......"

Bun-san: {...I see... With these pictures, anyone would be suspicious...}

Kamo-san: "They're taken well." {How wonderful Sandaime. I know you wanted pictures since you enjoyed yourself.}

Sakahogi: "...... ...It seems that the rumours were true...... ...Forgive me. My son attacked you and committed other indecent acts......" He bows his head down.

Ryuji: "It's not something worth apologizing over. They weren't good enough to call that a shooting." {Put your head up 'cause it's unseemingly.}

Sakahogi (-_-'): "...Thank goodness......"

Ryuji: "...And so what you really want to talk about isn't this is it. Hurry up and let's get it over with."

Kamo-san notices that Ryuji is putting the envelope full of pictures into his jacket pocket.

Sakahogi sighs: "---You know that lately our kumiin have been killed---..."

Ryuji: "I know."

Ryuji: ".....?"

Back in the questioning room.

Yuuwa: "---It was about 3 weeks ago. Where me and my buddies, hang out, there usually aren't any people, and we saw this dude and a kid. I thought it was strange, so me and my buds watched for awhile, and we say the dude give the kid a suitcase. We thought it was money. You know, the story where a kid kidnaps a kid to get money off the parents? It's not like we needed the money or anything, but we thought it would be fun, so we stole the suitcase from the kid and escaped. [On motorcycles] ---When we opened the suitcase, we didn't find money, but some unknown drug we've never seen---"

Asago, with her arms crossed: "...... ...So ...What's the point in you telling me this?"

Yuuwa, with a handprint on his left cheek: "I was against father's idea at first. Even if the kumi was bigger, the kumicho was only a kid 2 years older than me [which makes Yuuwa 12!?] ...But it seems like he can do a lot more than I thought. I like his courage and his confidence. So going with my father's idea, I'll also ask this favour."

Asago: "...What's that?"

Yuuwa: "Put us under your protection." Asago glares at him.

Asago, throws a left jab to his face: "Don't joke around."

Yuuwa: "I'm not joking around---"

Asago: "Even if you tell me this I can't decide that!!"

Yuuwa: "That's why I'm asking for Kuryugumi's No. 2!! I'm telling you to bring someone who can take Shirogami Ryuji's place!"

Asago, blushing: "...I'm saying...!"

Tsukasa comes out of nowhere and flowers pop up in the background. She laughs slyly: "When Ryuji's not here you're the one who has to take his place right~~~ A~A. Poor Asago-chan, already in a big pinch." Tsukasa is kind of dancing.

Asago: "What's with you looking so happy!" {How annyoying!}

They're about to fight.

Yuuwa, getting impatient: "So what about our talk?"

Asago and Tsukasa both eye him.

Asago: "...The owner of that suitcase you stole was a syndicate. And a place larger than Sakahogi."

Yuuwa: "...Aah......"

Tsukasa: "...And because you guys can't do anything by yourselves, you're asking, Kuryugumi, an even bigger syndicate to become your ally and shield.....?"

Yuuwa: "...... ......"

Tsukasa, and Asago in synch, each grabs onto Yuuwa's collar.

Tsukasa: "You've gotta be kidding!!"

Asago: "That drug! Why don't you hurry and politely return it yourself!!"

Yuuwa: "If I could I would have done it ages ago!! My buddies tried the drug when I wasn't watching then got scared and threw the thing into the sea! Because the ones who tried it spurted blood from all their orifices and died!!"

Back at the Tokyo Washington Hotel.

Sakahogi: "---Since then, there were several attempts at my life, then the random killings of my kumiin escalated. After awhile, they came asking back for the drug. That's when I could see that no matter what I did the difference in the strengths between us was enormous. ---I couldn't say that the drug was disposed of. ...I knew that the drug was so dangerous it hasn't even made it to the black market yet."

Ryuji: "...You're afraid that everyone will be murdered......"

Sakahogi: "...If this could be resolved with my death, then I was contemplating on doing just that, but it doesn't seem like that kind of honor worked well with them...... ---I no longer want,"

Back at Kuryugumi's main house.

Yuuwa: "I don't want any more kumiin to die because of me! That's why I'm asking you to help us!!" He points at them.

Asago: "...I'm telling you..."

Tsukasa: "With that attitude you call that asking......"

Asago: "I understand Sakahogi's feelings real~~~ly well, but if it's drug related......"

Tsukasa: "Undoubtedly, if Ryuji was here he would say this......"

In synch, Tsukasa and Asago take a breath.

At the Tokyo Washington Hotel.

Ryuji: "...I refuse."

Sakahogi: "!!"

Ryuji gets up: "---That's all I have to say for now. Let's change the place. And hurry up and release the kumiin you rounded up for that scene. It's like asking for them to all be killed."

Sakahogi, gets up and they leave the room: "That won't be necessary. I told them that once they saw you in to leave immediately. I know that my actions are being watched, so as a camouflage......"

They suddenly stop in midstep at the top of the stairs leading out of the hotel. Men [probably dead] lie all over the lower floor, even a woman is seen dead on the stairs. Blood is everywhere.

Speaker unknown, but most likely Sakahogi: "---...Wh... What's this.....!"

Ryuji feels a presence. He swiftly draws out his gun and fires.

Sakahogi: "!!" He looks up at where Ryuji fired. "!?" He notices a figure flipping in the air. "!!"

The person lands. It's a woman [I think]. She has long straight hair [down to her butt] and is wearing a tight fitting bodysuit. She's carrying a single blood soaked blade.

Some of us think that this is a guy. What do you think? Guy or girl? To find out what the gender is, see episode no. 36 (bonus: translator gloating that she's correct) or at least a couple of lines down.

Sakahogi's bodyguard: "...... ...Who's that!"

Sakahogi notices the knife: "! ...Could it be...... She... alone..!?" {...Impossible......}

Someone starts applauding: "How worthy you are Shirogami Ryuji-kun. You don't die as easily as these nobodies."

The party on the stairs: "!!"

Ryuji looks down at the owner of the voice: "...You.....!"

Owner of the voice: "Following Sakahogi here I didn't think I'd see you as well. It's been awhile Shirogami Ryuji."

It's Hizaki Toya, Hizaki Sakae's bastard son.
