Dusk.
A child of darkness
stands by a lonely shore
and waits for night
to come and take his shadow away.
The deep black hurting
that fills his empty memories.
The waves crash with eerie laughter,
and take with them his mask.
Upon whose face rests the age of history,
born and died through countless years.
But for one brief moment in his life,
he smiles.
He smiles for he is happy,
for one brief moment.
Then the darkness comes
and makes his happiness everlasting.
Dawn.
A child of light
walks down a lonely shore
and greets the morning
to come and play with her shadow.
The joyous warm glow
that fills her day with memories.
The waves rush in with cheerful laughter
and bring with them a mask.
Upon whose face rest the marks of history,
emotions felt through countless years.
And for this brief moment in her life,
the child cries.
She cries for she remembers,
for one brief moment.
Then the daylight comes
and makes the memory everlasting.
