2002.9.14 One Piece is am shonen manga serialized in Jump Comics and done by Eiichiro ODA. It is about a boy's quest to become a pirate king and get the greatest treasure called One Piece. In his quest, Lufi gathers several members to his crew and heads for Grand Line, a place that only the great pirates can go and One Piece is hidden. Monkey D. Lufi ate the demon fruit and has become a rubber human, but now is cursed by sea's hatred - he'll never be able to swim. He also wants to meet again with Shanks, a red-haired pirate captain that young Lufi met. Who will become a part of this insane, always hungry rubber human's crew? What will happen when he meets up with Shanks again? It took a while for me to get used Oda's style. It looks deceivingly simple, but he's able to do so much with it. I enjoy reading it, but as with most shonen manga, there's a lot of fighting and I got bored, wanting more storyline. Except that time Zoro took on an entire town... Zoro is the three-blade-technique swordman in Lufi's crew that is very cool. ^o^ The crew is a very interesting mix and has several cool characters. I'd like to see where Oda-sensei takes it to.
