Rei walked towards the shrine with a hurried pace. She
couldn't wait to tell her grandfather that she was ok. She knew he
would know something had happened to her, and she suspected he
knew who she was. She ran up the stairs and into the temple.
She crashed into Yuuichirou.
"Rei-san! I'm sorry! I..." he began. She smiled.
"It was my fault Yuuichirou. Where's Grampa?" She asked,
eager to speak with him.
"In the fire reading room." Yuuichirou replied, puzzled at how
nice Rei was being.
"Thanks!" She said before turning around and taking off again.
She ran into the room.
"Rei-chan!" Her grandfather greeted as she entered.
"Grampa!" Rei replied as she hugged her grandfather.
"Rei-chan! You're alright! I'm so glad. I was worried about
you."
"Oh Grampa! I have so much to tell you. Where do I start?" she
asked, speaking to no in particular.
"How about the beginning when you found out you are Sailor
Mars." He suggested. Rei gasped.
"How did you know?" she asked.
"Well, I noticed that you were always missing at night. I was
worried so I asked the Great Fire. I never got a real answer, I
only saw the Moon, than Mars. I figured it out from there." he
explained.
"Why didn't you ever tell me you knew? Weren't you worried?
Why didn't you try to stop me?" Rei asked.
"I didn't tell you because I knew I wasn't supposed to know. I
was always worried about you, but I knew it was your destiny to
be Sailor Mars. I know not to mess with destiny." He said.
"Oh Grampa!"
"What I don't know, Rei-san, is why you're telling this to me
know? Why is it suddenly ok for me to know?" he asked her.
"Well, we fought Sailor Galaxia, the legendary senshi, and we
won. She was healed. Now we must heal the world. Usagi will use her ginzuishou to save the world from itself. Grampa, she is
the true senshi of love! She will rule the Earth as her mother once
ruled the Moon." Rei explained.
"Is this a good thing? Can she handle the responsibility of ruling
a world?" Her grandfather asked.
"Not just a world, but a universe. Serenity is strong. Beyond
reason and she has the senshi to back her up. She should be fine."
"Has she told her parents? Do they know?"
"She was going to tell they when I left. They probably know
now. I wonder how her father will take Usagi and Mamoru being
destined..." Suddenly a sharp beep echoed throughout the fire
reading room.
"Sailor Mars!" Rei spoke into the communicator.
"Hey Rei-chan! How'd it go? Are you alright?" Usagi asked.
"Yeah! Grampa knew though."
"I had the feeling.. Well, we need to have a senshi meeting. How
'bout at the temple. Four o'clock sound ok to you?"
"Hai Usagi-chan!" Usagi smiled.
"Good. Well, I'll see you then."
"Don't be late..." Rei paused as if she wanted to say more, but
didn't. She shut off the communicator.
"Why didn't you tell her Rei-san? Why didn't you tell her the
truth?" Grampa asked.
"What do you mean?" Rei asked, without any conviction.
"You know. Tell her you're proud of her. You are. I know, you
know and she deserves to know."
"I... ..." Rei was at a loss for words. Quietly she turned.
"I need to prepare for the senshi meeting." She left the
fire reading room without another word.
