When the telephone rang the next morning, a half asleep Molly picked it
up. She glanced at her clock, noting that it wasn't even seven o'clock.

"Yes?" She mumbled.

"Hi, is Serena there?" It was Darien.

"Darien, I presume. Yes, she's here." Molly replied. "I don't think she
wants to talk to you though."

Molly could practically hear Darien getting more upset.

"Gods, what have I done..."

"What exactly happened last night?" Molly asked. "Serena went down to the
police station to bail you out, then came home a few hours later crying
her eyes out."

"I was jumped last night, by some rich guys who blamed me. They jumped me
because I'm dating Serena. They didn't want me going out with 'their kind'."
Darien explained.

"Oh... I get it..." Molly sighed. "A lot of people treated me that way
when I first came here. I'm by no means poor, but I'm not as well off as
most of the girls here. Serena is one of the wealthiest teens in America,
but she is probably the most accepting."

"Your kidding, right?" Darien asked her, shocked.

"You mean you didn't know?" Molly asked.

"No... I mean, I figured she was rich when I found out she was going here,
but I had no clue..."

Molly was surprised at the sincerity in his voice. Either he was a really
good actor, or he really hadn't known.

"What can I do? How can I fix things with her?" Darien asked.

"Do you know exactly what needs fixing?" Molly asked. Darien paused.

"I think she's upset that I was hurt because of her..." Darien replied
slowly. "I told her I'd pay her back all the bail money..."

"Money isn't important to Serena." Molly informed him. "It must be the
first. I'll talk to her when she wakes up, but you had better talk to her
as well. If you love her enough to risk dating her..."

"I do! Gods, I love her..." Darien sighed dreamily at the thought of Serena.

"Let her know, not me." Molly replied. "I'm going back to bed. Bye Darien."

"Thanks, bye."

"Darien..." Serena murmured in her sleep. Molly smiled at her friend as she
hung up the phone.

"You must really love him, Sere."

When the alarm went off in their room, Molly moaned. Was she never going to
get any sleep? Serena slowly got out of bed and turned the alarm off.

"Morning Mol." Serena stretched. "I'm gonna go shower."

Molly didn't understand how Serena could be so cheery in the morning,
especially after what happened last night with Darien.

By the time Serena returned, Molly was dressed and ready for school.

"Hurry up, or you'll be late."

"You know, I had the strangest dream." Serena said as she dressed for school.
"I had a dream that Darien called, and you were talking to him." Serena
laughed. "That's so crazy, isn't it?"

Molly smiled.

"Yeah... Hey guess what! Darien called you this morning, but you were
sleeping."

"What did he say?" Serena asked nervously. "I made such a fool of myself
last night Mol! He hates me now, doesn't he?"

"No, Sere. He was worried. He loves you. Did you know that he had no idea
you were filthy rich?" Molly asked. Serena rolled her eyes.

"It's not something I advertise. It's not even anything I think about."

"I know Sere. Come on. We're going to be late for class!"

When Serena got back to her room, there were a dozen roses sitting on her
bed. Puzzled as to how they go there, Serena picked them up and slid the
card out from between the flowers. She opened the envelope and read the
card. It was simple and to the point. 'I love you.'

Serena felt a pair of arms encircle her from behind, and she would have
screamed had she not recognized the embrace.

"Darien." She breathed.

"Serena." Darien replied, nuzzling her neck gently. Serena didn't move.
She remained in Darien's arms, afraid that if she did something, the feeling
would fade. Everything felt so perfect.

"I'm sorry, about last night." Darien told her. "I'm sorry I let you leave."

"Oh Darien, it was my fault. I shouldn't have overreacted." Serena spun
around to face him. "I'm sorry..."

"So everything's okay?" Darien asked her. Serena nodded. "Your sure?"

"Yup." Serena smiled.

"You aren't going to try to avoid me, or anything? To try to protect me
or something?" Darien asked, just to be sure. Serena laughed.

"No, I won't avoid you! If I did, you might have to start creeping into my
room more often." Serena teased. Darien chuckled.

"Would you prefer to sneak into my room?" He asked. Serena paused, looking
thoughtful.

"Well actually..."

"Why don't you?" Darien asked, suddenly serious.

"Sneak into your room?" Serena asked.

"No, no. Come stay with me. For a weekend or something." Darien suggested.

"For real?" Serena asked.

"Yeah." Darien smiled. "We could have a lot of fun!"

Serena raised an eyebrow at this comment.

"Fun, eh?" She asked. Darien laughed.

"Say you will."

"Alright Darien. Are you free next weekend?" She asked.

"I will be..." Darien promised.

The door to Serena's room opened and Molly stood there, looking at the two
in surprise.

"Oh my. I guess you two worked things out."

"Quick! Shut the door!" Serena told Molly. Molly shut the door, and stepped
further into the room.

"Yeah, we worked things out." Darien told Molly, still hugging Serena tightly.
"Thanks for your help."

"No problem. I guess I should be leaving you two alone, eh?" Molly asked
smiling at Serena.

"Actually, I should be going now." Darien replied. "I have to work."

Serena sighed.

"You always have to work."

"I know, love." Darien kissed her cheek. "But I can guarantee no work
between Friday and Sunday, okay?"

"Alright." Serena smiled and gently caressed Darien's cheek. Darien
brushed his lips against hers.

"I'll see you later..." He whispered, before slipping out her window.

"How does he go that?" Molly asked. "We're on the second floor..."
