His blue eyes were almost as beautiful as her love -
But not quite.
She was slowly suffering the fate of being star-crossed
with the one she truly loved…
So much pain.
"Are you okay?" His dark mysterious voice asked as she
threw her arms around him and sobbed.

Amazed
(Marv Green/Aimee Mayo/Chris Lindsey)
Every time our eyes meet
This feeling inside me
Is almost more than I can take
Baby when you touch me
I can feel how much you love me
And it just blows me away
I've never been this close to anyone or anything
I can hear your thoughts
I can see your dreams
I don't know how you do what you do
I'm so in love with you, it just keeps getting better
I wanna spend the rest of my life with you by my side
Forever and ever
Every little thing that you do
Baby I'm amazed by you
The smell of your skin
The taste of your kiss
The way you whisper in the dark
Your hair all around me, baby you surround me
You touch everyplace in my heart
Oh, it feels like the first time every time
I wanna spent the whole night in your eyes
I don't know how you do what you do
I'm so in love with you, it just keeps getting better
I wanna spend the rest of my life with you by my side
Forever and ever
Every little thing that you do
Baby I'm amazed by you
Every little thing that you do
I'm so in love with you
It just keeps getting better
I wanna spend the rest of my life with you by my side
Forever and ever
Every little thing that you do
Oh, every little thing that you do
Baby I'm amazed by you

Blue - so incredibly blue.
Almost like his…
Her heart thumped, a wave of sorrow began to fill her as
she crumpled into a heap as his strong, protective arms
surrounded her, holding her tightly.
"Don't do this hime-sama," his deep voice told her, as she
looked up at him, her blue eyes glistered with tears. "Don't cry
little one, it's killing me to see you this way…"
She took a deep breath, as he pulled her into his arms.
She began the feel how safe and serene it was to be within his
arms. "Hime…" his voice had called out to her as she stared at
him.
Concern filled his eyes.
"Arigatou," she stated, "for being here for me."
He nodded, pulling both of them from the ground.
"Anything for you hime-sama." She could feel the weights upon
her back lift up, as he wrapped his cape around her - as she
stared up at his eyes.
If only his Kaman wasn't in the way.
~~~
He woke up from the sound of his alarm clock blaring; his
eyes were in refusal of opening up and returning back into the
world of reality. He had felt as if he had not slept until an hour
before…
He groaned.
Today was going to be a long tiring day.
~~~
She was awaken by the sound her mother's screeching
voice, as her mind had refused to let her respond to the call
until her cat's claws began to cave into her flesh -
She jumped up from her bed, "Luna, don't do that!!" She
had exclaimed, as the cat just stared at her, saying one simple
line that made the girl rush away, "You're late."
Her eyes widen and she had rushed into the bathroom,
half dressed already.
Another typical day had began.
~~~
He let his slow stride take him to class as his mind was
elsewhere. He couldn't help but feel a tad bit guilty for kissing
Minako. It was as if he was betraying Usagi…
But they weren't together, even though he wished it was
so. He sighed, he didn't know. His thoughts were in a mess. He
turned the corner only to have another person run into him as
they collided onto the ground. "Gomen nasai, gomen…" the
painfully familiar voice had said as his eyes widen in
realization of who the person was.
Usa-ko.
Looking up from the ground after picking up her book
bag, her eyes met onto the person she had bumped into. She
seemed to shudder at the demand of his gaze, as she seemed
light headed at the blueness of his eyes….
She was beautiful.
That was all he could think as he took a good look at her.
Her beautiful hair was reduced to a shorter length, as it
flowed freely from any restrictions of her usual hairstyle. She
was even more beautiful - if that was possible. He felt in need
of her, as his heart yearned for her…
If only she wasn't -
--with my best friend, was all she could think. Her
eyes looked at him, as she bowed politely. "Gomen nasai
Mamoru-kun."
"It's okay." He had responded softly, as they passed
each other a smile and went their separate ways.
~~~
"So, Mina-chan, tell me are you and that guy together?
The guy from the game center…?" Makoto had asked the
blonde who blinked back in surprise.
"Nani?"
"You know, the kawaii guy! Tall, dark, and very cute…"
Makoto had said as Usagi slid into the seat besides the two.
"Hey minna, what are you talking about?" She had questioned,
her eyes looking at the two as she avoiding meeting Minako's
eyes.
"Ohh, just talking about V-babes new boyfriend… I think
you know him, that dark haired hunk from the game center…"
"Boyfriend?" She had asked somewhat alarmed, as
Minako stared at her friend somewhat angry. 'Just because she
has Motoki-san doesn't mean I don't have anyone…'
"Yeah, my boyfriend… his name is Mamoru… wait, you
know him don't you?" 'No more turning back…' Minako had
thought as Usagi stared with mix emotions crossing her face.
"Hai, I do… you two make a cute couple." She tried hard to
keep her voice from cracking. "That would explain the whole
kissing thing in the street right?"
"Kiss…" Minako had said, as Makoto's eyes lit up.
"Kiss?! And you didn't tell me? How could you not V-
babe!" Usagi had then left Minako fending herself next to
Makoto as she closed her eyes. A tear trickled down her face.
She sat in the game center, gazing at the people went in
and out…
In and out…
"More boy problems?" Motoki's comforting voice had ask
as Usagi nodded. "I can't get over him… he came into my life
and changed it all, and now…" Her voice was dark and bitter.
"It's more than just simply boy problems, or an infatuation… it's
a broken heart… it's love," she had said as Motoki had placed
a hand upon her shoulder.
"What happened?" He asked Usagi, as she looked down,
masking the pain that crossed her face. The words barely
made it out of her mouth, "He's with my best friend."
Motoki had gotten quite angered by her words, to think
that Usagi was suffering so much because of some guy's idiotic
blindness and cruelty. "He doesn't deserve you. He doesn't
deserve your tears, or your thoughts… He doesn't deserve the
time you spend lingering over him. You are wonderfully
beautiful and special - it's just that he is so blind… forget the
fool."
His voice was threatening as Usagi shook her head. "Iie…
I can't… I can't forget… I love him… I can't… I can't."
She had crumbled before his eyes as he vowed to himself
that when he found out who that basterd was, he'll beat him up
and make sure he suffers for damaging Usagi's heart like this.
His imouto deserved better than this.
~~~
Mamoru sighed as he slid into his usual stool and waited
for Motoki to get his order. Today had been an especially
long day for him. After the run in with her that morning, he just
couldn't keep his mind off of her. But he knew it was useless.
No matter how much he hoped and prayed, she would never
be his. She belonged to Motoki.
"Ohayo Mamoru-kun," came a feminine voice at his side.
Mamoru glanced down as Minako hopped onto the stool next
to him.
"Ohayo Mina-chan," he replied gruffly.
She was taken back by the harshness in his voice. "Are
you still upset about the...um...you know?" she asked nervously.
Mamoru caught the fear in her eye. "Oh Mina, I'm sorry, I
didn't mean to sound harsh, I've just had a rough day," he
sighed.
"I know what you mean," she said, placing a sympathetic
hand on his arm. "I couldn't stop thinking about HIM, or THEM
for that matter."
Mamoru nodded in agreement. At least someone
understood what he was going through.
"As a matter of fact," Minako continued, "I saw Usagi
earlier here today while my other friend Makoto was asking
about us..."
"And...?" Mamoru prompted as he saw the blush rise in
Minako's cheeks.
"Umm...Ikindaimpliedthatyouweremyboyfriend," she said
in one breath. Minako peered up at Mamoru through her thick
blonde bangs at his reaction. "I'm really sorry, but I was just so
upset that she and Motoki are together that I kind of wanted to
get back at her.
Mamoru shook off his shock. "Wh..what did Usagi say
when you said that?"
"She said we make a cute couple. And umm, she saw the
kiss..." Minako trailed off.
Mamoru groaned and cradled his head in hands.
"It doesn't matter anyways Mamoru-kun, she and Motoki
are in love."
Mamoru raised his head, slowly trying to accept the
concept that the girl of his dreams was with his best friend.
"Well I have to get going Mamoru. I'll see ya around
kay?"
Mamoru nodded his head. "Thanks for being here
Minako," he said as he stood up to give her a hug good-bye.
"Hey, no problem, we'll get through this together. Who
knows, maybe we can write a book on how to get over the fact
that the person you love is with your best friend," she laughed
bitterly.
Mamoru waved good-bye and sat back on the stool,
deep in thought.
"Hey Mamoru-kun, sorry I took so long," Motoki called out
as he approached him with a pad and pen in hand.
"What!" Mamoru growled, as the thought of him and
Usagi cuddled in each others arms ran through his head.
"Whoa..." Motoki said, holding up his hands in defense.
He knew Mamoru to have mood swings, but never had he seen
his friend this ticked off.
"What's wrong Mamoru?" he asked worriedly.
"None of your business," Mamoru snapped back. He saw
the pain and hurt flash through his best friend's eyes, and
groaned inwardly. No matter how mad he was, he couldn't
take his anger out on Motoki. It wasn't his fault that Usagi liked
him better.
"I'm sorry Motoki-kun, I've just been having a bad day."
Motoki nodded in understanding. "What'll it be...your
usual?
"Yea, thanks Toki," Mamoru said, flashing him a smile.
~~~
After Usagi had left the arcade, she found herself
wandering through the rose garden of the park, deep in
thought over what Minako had said.
"Yeah, my boyfriend… his name is Mamoru… wait, you
know him don't you?"
"How could she?" Usagi cried. "What kind of friend is she,
to take away the man that I love?"
'But she didn't know,' her heart whispered.
'And even if she did, who's to say that Mamoru would
want you?' her subconscience sneered.
"At...at least I have Tuxedo Kamen..."
'But you can't depend on him, you don't even know who he
is. Maybe he just pities you'
"ENOUGH! Just leave me alone!" Usagi cried out in
frustration, blocking her ears from her mind's taunts.
Slowly, she picked herself off the ground and decided to
head on home. Usagi bent down to grasp her purse, but came
up with nothing but air. Wildly, she glanced all around her, but
her purse was nowhere to be found. Closing her eyes, Usagi
remembered that she had left it in the booth, where she and
Motoki had been talking. Sighing in frustration, Usagi slowly
trudged her way back to the arcade.
As she neared the arcade, she made the mistake of
glancing into the windows, just in time to see Mamoru step off
the stool and give Minako a hug. With a heart wrenching cry,
Usagi took off completely forgetting the reason for coming to
the arcade.
She felt as though someone had grabbed her heart and
stomped all over it.
"Why?" Usagi cried out. "Why was I destined to fall in
love with someone I can't have?"
~~~
Usagi walked into homeroom early for once, gazing
warily at the empty seat next to Minako. Instead, she seated
herself next to Gurio.
"Hey Usagi-chan, why aren't you sitting next to Minako?"
Gurio asked.
"Umm..uh..." Then Usagi narrowed her eyes. "Are you
trying to imply that you don't want me to sit next to you? And
after all the times I saved you from being beaten up by bullies,
this is how you treat me?!"
"No..that's not um..what I meant," Gurio stuttered
helplessly.
"Gosh Gurio-kun, and after all those times, I thought we
were friends," Usagi sniffled.
"But we are!" he protested in his high-pitched squeaky
voice.
"And now you don't even want me to sit next to you!" she
wailed.
Everyone in class turned around and stared at the sobbing
Usagi and the red faced Gurio. Immediately, everyone save
Minako, gave Gurio the evil eye.
Usagi looked at him through the corner of her eye and
saw him gulp nervously at the threatening gazes he was
receiving from the football team.
'Hook, line, and sinker!' Usagi thought wickedly. 'Damn
male population,' she cursed. Poor Umino had fallen victim into
Usagi's plot for revenge.
*Chi Chi: Lol, I know this entire scene doesn't really seem to flow
with the rest of the story, but it was just getting to overdramatic
for me, I just had to throw in something comical...ok, so maybe it
isn't that funny, but hey I tried. Oh, and sorry for bashing
Umino if any of you are offended.
"ATTENTION CLASS!" Haruna yelled from the front of the
class. "I have a special announcement to make."
With a great flourish, Haruna opened her briefcase and
pulled out the daily newspaper. "I'm proud to annouce that the
1st place winner of the writing contest is our very own Tsukino
Usagi!"
Usagi's head snapped up as she heard her name being
called. "Are you sure," she asked in bewilderment.
"Congratulations Usagi-chan," Haruna smiled warmly at
her.
"A-Arigatou," she stammered.
"Oh by the way, the newspaper wants you to stop by,
they have a prize for the 1st place winner," Haruna mentioned.
Usagi nodded her head because she was too dazed to
speak.
~~~
The entire day had been a blur for Usagi. After the
announcement, everyone seem to want to congratulate her. But
the shocking part of it all was that her essay had won the
contest. She had never won anything in her entire life.
"Usagi-chan...Usagi-chan."
"Huh what?" she snapped out of her daze.
"Class is over."
"Oh um yea...hehe," she giggled sheepishly.
"One more thing Usagi."
"Hai Haruna-sensei?"
"I knew you could do it. All you had to do was put your
mind to it."
"Arigatou," she replied blushing. Quickly, she left the
classroom and walked out into the fresh open air. Usagi
quickly headed over to the arcade to meet up with her friends
and celebrate the good news. As she entered, she noticed that
Rei was already at their booth.
"Hey Usa-chan!" Rei called with a big cheesy grin on her
face.
She sauntered over to the booth and looked at Rei warily.
"Okay, who are you and what have you done with my Pyro?"
"Geez Usagi, can't I be happy for my best friend, who just
so happened to win a writing contest and five tickets to the
Lights concert."
"How did you find out about the contest?" Usagi asked in
confusion.
"It's right here in the newspaper," Rei replied. "See?" she
said, sticking it in Usagi's face.
"NANI!? Lemme see that!" Usagi shrieked. Rei was right,
as a matter of fact, her essay was splayed all over the front
page for the whole world to see. Including Mamoru.
"Oh noo..." she moaned, thinking of all the trouble it would
cause her when Mamoru read the essay, figure out it was him
she was talking about, and tell Minako.
"What are you groveling about?" Rei asked impatiently.
"You should be happy that you won, now you can take your
best friend to see the Lights!" she said excitedly with hearts in
her eyes.
But Usagi was too concerned with trying to figure out a
way to stop Mamoru from seeing her essay to listen to Rei
blabbler on about how cute Seiya was.
Just when things couldn't get worse, Mamoru came strutting
in with today's newspaper rolled up in his arm.
