Part 1--- All grown up

"Oh Man! I’m late AGAIN!"
A very familiar, petite blond rushed out her apartment door and ran down a flight of stairs. This was the third time she’d been late for work this week. Her blond hair was about waist length and it slightly curled at the ends.
She ran down the street bumping into people, who cursed at her as she went by. Her boss was going to really let her have it today. She was the receptionist at the local hospital. She always loved helping sick people, but never had the brains to be a doctor or nurse, so this was as close as she would ever get.
She sighed as she saw the hospital come into few, but ran even harder as not to be late. As she walked in the doors, the Head Nurse, Susan Jones, saw her and practically cussed her out, until a new doctor walked up and intervened. Susan was very good looking, but had a really bitter attitude, especially towards this girl. She was so pretty........and all the Doctor’s looked at her and not Susan.
"Um, Nurse Jones, Dr. Walters wants you upstairs." a very familiar voice said.
"Yes, Dr. Chiba." And she walked away in a huff.
"Thank-you, Dr. Chiba?"
"Yes, Darien Chiba. And whom do I have the pleasure of addressing?" He asked, sticking his patient sheet under his arm and then sticking out his hand.
"Oh, sorry, Serena Tsukino{--is that right--}" she replied and shook his hand.
"Very nice to meet you, Ms. Tsukino."
"Oh call me Serry, every one does."
"Okay then Serry, pleased to meet you.’
"Ditto" she said and her smile melted him completely.
"Have we met before?" he asked "I feel as if somehow we are connected."
"Weird..... Me too!"
She looked at her watch.
"Oh crud! I have to clock in! Do you work on this floor?"
"Yeah." He smiled
"Well then, Dr. Chiba, I guess I ‘ll see you all day! Bye!"
She waved at him and flashed another killer smile.
"Call me Darien" He yelled after her. She waved back at him and ran off.
*Wow!* He thought. * She was the most gorgeous thing I’ve ever seen! Those eyes......that hair.....that body * He grinned devilishly at the last thought * She did have some body.*
He smiled and walked off, thinking about how he couldn’t wait to see her again.

*Wow* she smiled all the way to her receptionist booth at the entrance of the hospital.
* He was really HOT! But where do I know him from? Well all I know is that I can’t wait to see him again!*

All day long, Darien stared at his watch waiting for his lunch break. Finally , 12:00 rolled around and he went to the break room to get his lunch. He opened the door and right when he walked over who did he see but........{You guessed it} Serena.
She was asleep on the break room couch. Darien smiled at this.
She looks like a child he thought * So peaceful....I want to talk to her so baaaad!!!!* Then he got an idea . He grabbed a piece of paper and pen and started writing.
After he was done writing, he folded the paper and stuck it in her shirt pocket very carefully, as not to wake her. He grabbed his lunch and headed out, but not without taking one last look at the beautiful girl.

Serena awoke and stretched.
* oh what a pleasant dream * she smiled. * IT was of that wonderful Dr. Chiba.....I mean Darien........* she stretched again and noticed something in her pocket.
‘To my dear Serry’ was written on the front.
* oh how romantic!* she smiled.
She carefully opened it.
‘To my dear Serry,
I came to the break room to get my lunch then what before my eyes appeared.........a beautiful goddess sleeping peacefully and dreaming pleasant dreams......’
* Oh you don’t know how pleasant *
‘I wanted to speak with you badly, but you looked so gorgeous sleeping there..... So I wrote you this note.....If you still have time during your break....I’m going to the hospital roof.......I hope to see you very soon ......... my beautiful goddess

Serena melted at this. She checked her watch.
* Oh good, I’ve got 15 minutes!* and she ran out of the break room. She was in such a hurry to see Darien she didn’t notice Nurse Jones heading for her. They collided.......
"AH !" Nurse Jones smiled cruelly " Ms. Tsukino.......Just the person I wanted to see."
"HUH?!?!" Serena said.
"Yes.... I did talk to Dr. Walters this morning........It seems your tardiness has cost you my dear........ You’re fired! You have until this afternoon to collect your things"
Nurse Jones walked away smirking.
Serena walked slowly up the stairs to the roof. She forgot about seeing Darien and just went there to cool off.
She walked slowly to a corner of the roof and sat in it and cried.

Darien heard the roof door open and close. He turned around and saw Serena and smiled.
* Serry *
He walked towards her.....but she just kept walking.
*HUH?* he thought
He saw her sit in the corner and he also saw her burst into tears. This broke his heart so he ran over to her.
"Serry...........what on earth is the matter?"
"Oh....*sob*....Darien....*sob*...I was ...." but she couldn’t finish her sentence. Darien wrapped his warm arms around her and told her not to cry. This made her feel as little better....but she continued crying.
After a few minutes Darien noticed his break was over....
"Come on, Serry, Let’s get back to work..."
"I can’t! " she sobbed
"You can if you don’t want to get fired..." He said trying to make her smile....not knowing how much he really hurt her.
"Too laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaate "she wailed.
"What?!?"
"Yeah...*sob*...right before I came up here....Nurse *Fathead* Jones told me that all my ‘tardiness’ caused me to lose my job.
Darien smiled at her nickname for Jones. Then he said firmly
"Serry, if you promise not to be late again....I can get your job back."
"How?!?!"
"Well, Andrew......I mean Dr. Walters....He’s my best friend.......I could do it....I’d do anything for you!"
"I don’t know if I can be on time, Darien."
"I’ll help you..." he smiled warmly at her as he watched her face light up.
"Really?!?!"
"Of course....anything for you...." he smiled sweetly and kissed her tear stained face and lips. Serena blushed a deep red.
"Sorry" he said and blushed too.
"Don’t be...."
Serena smiled at him....knowing it was melting his heart......and kissed him back.
"Now" he said" Let’s kiss those tears away so *Fathead* downstairs won’t know she’s gotten to you" he said and kissed her face. They both laughed. He helped he off the ground and took her hand.
"Serena......would you like to go out to dinner with me tonight?"
"Of course! I thought you would never ask!"
They walked downstairs. Darien said he would pick her up at 8:00 and he got directions to her apartment.
He helped her move her things and he said she could put her things in his locker for now.

Serena went to her apartment and took a long, hot bath.
* Oh .... he’s so sweet.....and charming.......and handsome......and....*
She started to list off all the wonderful things about him. Eventually she got out of the tub and blew dry her hair. She walked to her closet.
"What to wear? What to wear?" she asked herself.
"Serena??????" a voice called.
"In here Mags!" A petite girl, about Serena’s age, walked in . She had short, curly blond hair. *Mags* or Maggie Faircloth, was Serena’s roommate. They met in college...became best buds.....and had been inseparable ever since.
"Ooooh are we going on a HOT date?!?!"
She asked slyly....noticing the two outfits Serena had in her hands.
"Which should I wear Mags?"
"Well it depends on how HOT he is."
"Maggie....no it doesn’t"
Maggie stared her down.
"OKAY it does!"
"Well then how HOT?"
"VERY!" Serena smiled.
"Well then.....I’d go fir the light-blue silky one!"
Serena went to the bathroom and put it on. She walked back out.
"Wow, Serry..... I wish I had your body! I could never wear something like that!"
"Thanks, Mags.....now could you help me do something with this hair?"
They both laughed and and walked towards the bathroom.

Darien pulled up to Serena’s building and got out.
* 153........153.........153* HE said her apartment number over and over again in his head, as not to forget it. He was wearing slacks, a dress shirt, and a tie, but to make the outfit less formal, he wore a black leather jacket.
He walked up the stairs of the building and finally reached 153. He knocked on the door nervously with a bouquet of roses hidden behind his back.
"Coming" a voice answered and Maggie opened the door.
"oh sorry," he said "I must have the wrong..."
"You’re Darien aren’t you?" Maggie interrupted.
"Yeah..." Darien said confused.
" Well come in..." Maggie motioned towards the couch. "Serena is almost ready. I’m Maggie , Serena’s roommate. Pleased to meet you." she smiled sweetly, noticing the relief on Darien’s face when he realized he wasn’t at the wrong apartment.
"You too." He smiled "how long have you known Serena?"
"We’ve been best friends since college. She sort of the little sister I never had."
"Oh.... this is a nice apartment." Darien said, trying to make small talk. Just then Serena walked into the room and saved Darien from his ‘small talk’, which he was doing poorly at.
* Thank you* he thought and sighed. Then he noticed what she was wearing. He practically drooled as the beautiful blond graced the room. Her form fitting dress looked beautiful and Darien realized how sexy Serena really was. Her hair was up in a French twist . Small, golden ringlets fell from the twist and framed her face and her dazzling blue eyes sparkled.
"You look divine, these are for you..." he said and handed her the bouquet of roses. Somehow he always had roses at his apartment and never knew why. Serena noticed the smell and remembered earlier when Darien hugged her.
* They smell just like Darien..... * she thought and smiled pleasantly.
"You look very handsome as well and thank you." She said and put the roses in a vase.
Darien blushed deeply and Serena just smiled at this, and her smile of course melted Darien away.
"Shall we go?" he asked jokingly.
"After you kind sir.....Bye Mags!" she said and waved at Maggie , who gave her a thumbs up in approval of Darien.

Later on after they had been driving a while, Serena asked....
"Where are we going?"
"Right here ...". Darien replied and parked the car. He stepped out and walked around the car to help Serena.
"Where’s here?"
"I’ll show you..." he said and walked over to a railing and Serena noticed they were on a cliff over looking something. As they walked closer to the edge, Serena noticed it was over looking the entire city.
"Oh Darien....this is the most beautiful place I’ve ever been too!"
"I know.... I ‘ve always felt drawn to this place.... somehow.... I knew you would like it...."
"Darien?" she asked still looking over the beautiful city.
"Hum?" he said string at the gorgeous girl standing in front of him.
" I know I’ve been here before.... and I think with you....."
