Ch. 3
Usagi ran quickly towards the coffee table and picked up a vase. She had been trashing
her and Mamoru’s apartment as she ran away from Ami, who was trying to calm her.
“NO!!!!!” Usagi yelled once more as Ami pleaded with her.
“But Usagi....Psychotherapy is common....it’s that or be committed to an asylum!!” Ami
yelled back as she saw the vase coming towards her. She ducked quickly and pulled out
her communicator, as Usagi threw more objects around.
*** Oh Mako! Thank Goodness! Get over Here ASAP with Haruka or Mamoru! Usagi’s
trashing the place! ***
*** Check! Got Haruka right here! We’ll be there in 5! ***
Makoto said shutting the connection. Ami ducked once more as a book flew her way,
then transformed into Mercury. She ran for Usagi, but was easily pushed back. Even not
as Sailor Moon, Usagi was very strong. That’s why Ami had called Makoto. She was the
strongest Inner. She asked her to bring Haruka or Mamoru, because they and Makoto
were the only one’s really strong enough to hold Usagi down..
Usagi ran from Ami and into the kitchen. She grabbed a knife and held it to her own
neck.
“Ami leave or I’ll kill myself!” she yelled and pressed the cool blade closer to her flesh.
“No Usagi! I want to help you not hurt you!” Ami pleaded.
“GO AMI!!!” she said and pressed the knife harder. Ami dropped her head and turned to
leave. She walked into the living room and Usagi followed, dropping her guard and
lowering the knife form her neck. Suddenly a hand grabbed her wrist tightly, forcing her
to release the knife. She whipped around to face Uranus. She began to jerk away when
Jupiter grabbed her from behind. She screamed and struggled , fighting against them. She
elbowed Jupiter in the stomach and kicked Uranus in the shin. She was about to get away
when Ami tackled her. She threw Ami off her and spun around to face...Mamoru. He
quickly pinned her arms to her side and lifted her in the air, keeping her arms length from
him so she couldn’t kick him. He walked into their bedroom and pushed her on the bed,
his body weight forced on her. Uranus and Jupiter quickly grabbed her arms and tied
them to the headboard with a be sheet, as Mamoru held her down by pressing against her
with his chest. Ami reached into her space pocket and pulled out a vile and a shot. She
walked up to Mamoru and showed them to him.
“What’s that?” he asked, trying to block Usagi’s screaming form his mind.
“C22H26F3N3OS or Fluphenazine...”she said.
“Isn’t that a tranquilizer?” he asked back.
“Uh-huh...you think she’ll drink it, or should I go for the shot?”
“Sh-shot...” he stuttered and turned back to Usagi. He couldn’t watch, plus the fact he had
to calm Usagi down. “Baby! Calm Down!” He said loudly. She continued to scream until
he covered her mouth with his. She struggled to get him to stop, but found it useless
because she could barely move under him. She slowly began to get into the kiss as
Mamoru tried his best to distract her. He truly hated needles, and kissing Usagi was
helping distract them both. Usagi didn’t notice Ami lower her skirt’s waist to reveal her
hip. She also didn’t notice Ami swab her skin. But she DID notice the sharp needle jab
into her side and she immediately screamed into Mamoru’s mouth. He released her as
she started to struggle she began kicking and accidentally kneed Mamoru, in the groin.
He painfully rolled off of her as she continued to try and loosen her wrists from the
headboard. It was useless however, and the tranquilizer took it’s effect on Usagi and she
passed out. Haruka de-transformed and helped Mamoru from his painful position on the
floor. Jupiter and Ami followed suit. They all began heading towards the trashed living
room, except for Mamoru, who wouldn’t leave Usagi’s side. Ami could’ve sworn she
heard Mamoru whisper to Usagi. ‘I would gladly suffer pain everyday, Usako, to ease
yours...’ She shook it off and closed the door to the bedroom.
Ami checked her mini computer a Makoto and Haruka began to straighten the apartment.
“Ami?” A voice asked from the bedroom door.
“Huh? Oh...Yes Mamoru-san?” Ami asked and looked up from her PC.
“How long will she be out?”
“An hour or so...” she said and typed something in her computer.
“Oh...” he said and walked around the living room, picking up books, pillows or
whatever he saw lying around, he was about to go back and check on Usagi when
something caught his eye.
“What the...Ami?” he asked and raised the knife up so Ami could see it. “Why is this
knife here?” Ami shot perplexed glances at Makoto and Haruka, looking for help in
answering this question. What would they say, ‘oh, Usagi just threatened to commit
suicide and since she’s depressed, it will probably happen a lot!’ Sure! Maybe Re can
answer questions like that, but Ami had a heart, or at least a bigger one than Rei had.
Anyway she wasn’t even sure Haruka and Makoto had seen Usagi hold the knife to her
own throat, so it was up to her to answer the dreaded question.
“Um well, you see, Mamoru-san...this probably isn’t the first time she’s thought about it,
and probably won’t be the last because the depressed often revert to drastic
measures...but Usa-chan threatened to kill herself if I didn’t leave earlier...” she said.
Mamoru looked at Ami, then the knife, then Makoto and Haruka, then the bedroom.
When he looked back in the bedroom at Usagi, the knife dropped to the ground next to
him. His knees buckled and he took and step, then fell into an arm chair. “That’s what I
was reading about on my computer when you came in...”
“Usagi’s disease has gotten much worse and she has two choices now...” She said and
punched some keys on her computer. “ She can either give up and be committed to an
asylum, or consent to having psychotherapy treatment and being put on medication...”
Mamoru looked up teary eyed at Ami, he couldn’t let his anger get the best of him.
Haruka and Makoto prepared themselves just incase, and walked over slowly to Mamoru,
placing comforting arms around him. He looked up at the ceiling and blinked away the
tears as he slowly got up and walked to the bedroom. He knelt down beside Usagi and
brought his hand up to her cheek. The tears coursed freely down his face once the girls
left the room and he rested his head on the bed beside Usagi. Her hands were still tied up
to the headboard. He kissed her softly on the forehead and cried some more.
//Back in the Living Room//
Makoto flopped out on the couch and buried her face in a pillow while Haruka went to
call Michiru to pick her up. Ami sat in the armchair and flipped open her mini computer.
“Ami?” Makoto asked , sitting up.
“Yes?”
“Why doesn’t Usagi-chan want to have that psychotherapy stuff?” Makoto asked as
Haruka came back in the room.
“I have no idea Mao-chan....I can never tell what is up with Usagi any more...” she said
sadly and closed her mini computer.
“ I hope whatever is keeping her from doing it passes.....because from the way it looks,
she isn’t going to let some stranger examine her head!” Haruka said sighing.
“That’s it! Haruka!” Ami said and jumped from her seat. “I’m qualified enough in that
field and have a degree. I could certainly help Usagi-chan out!” she clapped her hands
together and was beginning to act like a certain blond, when they were younger. She then
frowned and sat down dejectedly. “But she won’t let me...” Ami sighed and placed her
head in her hands. Makoto and Haruka sat beside her and placed their arms around her.
Lately those too had really let their sympathetic sides show. At that moment they realized
it. They had always been so tough because no one ever cared enough for them to make
them let their defense down until they met Usagi. Usagi had shown them love and
compassion as a friend, and they both thanked her for that. However in Hruka’s case,
Usagi had just helped Michiru to get Haruka’s guard down. Michiru opened Haruka’s
heart to love, and Usagi showed Haruka’s heart to more.
“She will Ami, trust me...” Makoto said soothingly. “She will....”
//Back in the bedroom//
Usagi’s eyes fluttered open as she slowly focused on her surroundings. She yawned and
tried to stretched, but found her hands tied to the headboard. She gasped, and as she
panicked, her breathing came quicker. She cast her eyes fleetingly over the dark room
and gasped again when she saw Mamoru asleep in a chair in the corner.
“Mamo...Mamo-chan?” she whispered.
Mamoru, who had been sleeping lightly, jerked out of his sleep when he thought he heard
his name. He looked up and saw Usagi, staring at him with tear filled blue orbs. He
cautiously made his way next to her, and his cautiousness made Usagi cry. He relented
and sat down on the bed next to her, wiping her tears away.
“Shhh Usagi, don’t cry...” he said. For some reason, he couldn’t call her Usako or Usa,
and he couldn’t put his arms around her. She cried even harder and stopped pulling
against her bindings, letting her arms fall limp as sobs shook her body. His heart broke,
he wanted to hug her so gently, to ease all her pain, but she had lied to him.
* Why can’t I just hold her? * he thought.
another part of him said.
* But she only did that to protect me1 *
* I don’t care! I’ve lied to her before, and it broke her heart in the process, I will not let
lies break her heart once more! *
his other voice called out in his mind.
* NO! I am comforting my Usako right now!*
He hadn’t noticed Usagi stop crying or that she had spoken to him. His eyes only showed
annoyance at the nagging voice in his head. Finally when he had enough he yelled.
“Shut-up!” Usagi, who thought the comment directed to wards her, cried again and
looked away in shame. She knew her lies to him must have hurt him more than she
thought. Plus the thought of Mamoru hating her killed her inside. She shook with the sobs
that racked her body and felt herself becoming weak. Mamoru looked down at Usagi.
“No Usako, I didn’t mean you, I was talking to myself because....well...” he tried to put
his thoughts into words. Usagi cried even harder. He must have been talking to her
because he had no excuse. If only she wasn’t tied to this stupid bed...
“No Usa, don’t cry, part of me was still mad at you and was telling me to be mad at you,
but I couldn’t do it Usa....I couldn’t be mad at you,....but the voice wouldn’t shut up and I
guess I said that out loud....but I wasn’t talking to you...Usa...please believe me..” He
pleaded and hugged her tightly. She cried more though and Mamoru pulled back to look
at her. What he saw were her hands making weak grabs at him her arms pulling against
her bindings with what strength she had, trying so hard to hug him. She looked at him
pleadingly through her tears. He smiled and gently undid her bindings and lifted her arms
to his neck. He pulled her to a sitting position and hugged her gently, burying his face in
her hair. He rocked her back and forth.
“Usako, please let Ami-san help, she wants to...I want to...” he whispered. “I love you
Usako...” tears fell down his cheeks. “I love you so much it hurts sometimes...I can’t bare
to think of loosing you....ever...please don’t leave me all alone, Usako....please?” he
asked and cupped her face in his hands. “Promise me you’ll never leave me alone...” he
half begged, half told Usagi. She looked at him. She couldn’t do that, the world depended
on her to save them time and time again. She couldn’t promise him that! She looked
down in shame. Mamoru gently tilted her chin up, forcing her to meet his gaze. When she
did, she saw his tear stained face and shivered.
“Mamo-chan...I can’t...You know that I could die tomorrow, I’ll never be able to promi-
mmmmph” she was cut off as he kissed her gently. He pulled back, but stayed close
enough to her face so that their foreheads and noses touched.
“Promise me Usako!” he whispered . “Please don’t ever leave me alone!” He closed hi
eyes and hugged her tightly. She cried, and as he tears fell onto his cheeks, she
whispered.
“Never...” He looked up at her. “Never ever will I leave you alone..” He kissed her
forehead and hugged her tightly. “But...” she whispered. “...you have to promise me
something....” He looked into her eyes.
“Anything!” he replied.
“If I die or anything else happens to me, marry someone else...” she whispered. He
looked at he in disbelief.
“But Usako, I could never...”
“Promise, Mamoru!” She said sternly, interrupting him. He sighed.
“I promise I will...” he whispered. * never marry another, for you own my heart...*
“Thank-you, Mamo-chan...” she whispered, and fell into a deep sleep in his arms.
