I had just returned from a period of delegation on Earth and was headed
towards the throne room with a full report. Queen Serenity was waiting
for me and I didn't want to keep her waiting, so I quickened my pace.
The doors were open, as she was expecting me, and I entered without
being announced. I knelt down before my Queen and brought one arm
across my chest to my shoulder in respect.

"Sailorvenus." She greeted, smiling. "How did the delegation go?"

"Very well, your majesty. The Royal Court agreed to most of your
requirements." I replied, standing to face her.

"And the disagreements?" She asked.

"We negotiated and have reached agreements." I hesistated. "There is
one matter left unsettled though. They want equality, and they have asked
for something to ensure it."

Queen Serenity say up a bit straigher and the smile faded from her face.

"Something big." She said softly.

"Yes." I replied.

"The crystal?" She asked. I shook my head no.

"Something bigger."

"A betrothal." Her voice was flat, devoid of emotion. "Between my daughter
and the Prince of Earth."

"Yes. I told them I could not agree to anything like that without speaking
to you first." I told her.

"I cannot just promise Serenity like that..." The Queen's voice faded as
she thought. "There is nothing else they want, besides this? There is
nothing they will take in place of my daughter?"

"No, your majesty." I hesitated. "I think you should agree to it."

The Queen looked at me incredulously and I tried to express what I knew
in words.

"Your majesty, I love Serenity dearly, like my own sister. I would not let
her get involved if I knew it would hurt her in anyway. I think you should
agree to this because..." I paused. "She and Endymion are alike. They
are one in the same, joined at the soul."

"Soulmates?" She asked me, surprised. I nodded slightly.

"I've been training in matters of the heart since birth. I have never
encountered something so strong before." I told her. I was less trained
than my mother, and I had never been able to tell soulmates who had not
met, but this time I could. That in itself was a testament to how powerful
their soulbond is.

"You are sure?" Queen Serenity asked me. I smiled.

"It jolted through me with such a force that it was unmistakable." I
told her.

"Then it shall be so." Queen Serenity nodded. "Take Serenity back with
you to Earth, and let her meet this Prince Endymion."

"Oh Mother! Really?" A voice exclaimed from the doorway. Queen Serenity
and I turned to see the princess standing their, her face glowing. She
had only caught the last part of our conversation.

"Yes, daughter. Go pack your things. You will be leaving on the next
shuttle." Queen Serenity informed her.

"Thank you!" Serenity cried before rushing off to her rooms to pack.

"Don't tell her about the engagement." Queen Serenity instructed me.
"Agree to it, but only if it is allowed for them to meet and fall in
love first. Does Endymion know of the engagement plans?"

"Yes, I believe so, but I should be able to come up with a plan to ensure
that he marries her for love and nothing else." I told the Queen. Serenity
smiled.

"Good. See to it then."

I met Serenity at the shuttle within the hour. She had a few bags at her
feet that I helped her carry inside. She was seated in the shuttle,
happily watching the stars when I approached her with my plan.

"Serenity?"

"Yes?" She turned to me, smiling.

"Can you make sure your crescent moon isn't showing? I want you to see
Earth from a normal point of view, before revealing you as the Princess.
I think you might enjoy it more. The freedom of life on Earth." I
smiled at her eager expression. "Also, I will be introducing you as
Heisei."

"A new name too!" Serenity giggled. "This sounds like a spy game!"

I smiled at her enthusiasm, letting her believe this was some sort of game.
A simple spy game. It would be easier on her, and thus on me, if she continued
to believe it all in fun.

As our shuttle landed, we were greeted by Prince Endymion's Royal Guard. My
eyes fell on the General Kunzite, and though I tried to pull my gaze away,
I knew Serenity had caught me. She smiled at me and followed me quietly
out of the shuttle.

"Who is this, Sailorvenus?" Kunzite asked. I raised my eyebrow.

"Heisei." I replied, not venturing to explain her relationship with me.
"She will be given the same rights I was."

It wasn't open for discussion. I wanted Serenity to wander around and
stumble across Endymion quite innocently. I knew that would be the best
way for them to meet.

"We would just like to be shown to our rooms so we may retire for the night.
The journey was rather taxing." I spoke curtly, exhaustion setting in. The
general nodded and motioned for the red haired one to lead us.

"Heisei." I spoke sharply, trying to pull her attention away from the wonders
of Earth and back to the present. She lifted her skirts and scurried after
me as I followed Nephrite. I almost laughed at the look of sheer joy on
the Princess's face. She would like Earth as a home.

"Sailorvenus?" She asked, once we had settled in our rooms. "May I wander
around a bit? I'm sure the gardens here are marvelous!"

I knew that the palace was heavily guarded, and as long as she stuck
within the walls, she would be safe.

"Alright, Serenity. Don't leave the palace grounds though." I warned
her. Serenity nodded and took off, giddy with the excitement of exploration.
To weary to care what she was doing, so long as she was safe, I sank into
one of the soft feather beds, and was quickly carried off to sleep.

I awoke several hours later, when the moonlight was streaming in the window.
I looked across the room to Serenity's bed and found in empty. Immediately
concerned, I sat up and headed out of the room. There were several guards
patrolling the hallways and I stopped each one asking if they had seen
Serenity.

Finally one told me he had seen a pretty blond wandering around and had
given her directions to the Royal Gardens.

I headed to the gardens as quickly as I could. Although Serenity was known
for spending hours in the gardens at home, this was a strange planet and it
got rather cold at night.

I walked briskly along the paths, looking for any sign of the Princess. I
watched the scenery change and unfold around me, knowing which path she
was more likely to take. I glanced into a clearing, and froze.

Serenity was sitting innocently by the fountain, watching the moon shine
on the water. The same light bathed around her, creating an almost
angelic light to go with her ethereal beauty.

I noticed, that on the edge of the clearing, stood another figure I
recognized to be Endymion.

Slowly he made his way forward, moving silently in the still night. He
acted as though he was afraid that if he startled her, she would disappear.
At the moment, I thought she might too.

He stopped when he stood near the bench she occupied and waited for her to
notice him in her own time. Serenity continued to gaze around the garden,
her attention fluttering like a butterfly, until her eyes fell on
Endymion.

"Oh!" Serenity gasped, and leapt to her feet. One pale, delicate hand flew
to her breast in fright.

"I didn't mean to startle you." His voice was barely above a whisper.
"Who are you?"

"Heisei..." she replied, just as quietly. I was proud that she stuck to
the plan, even though I knew what was going through her. She had just met
her soulmate, and was forming the soulbond.

"Heisei..." Endymion whispered, caressing her name like a lover. "I, am
Endymion."

"Highest ranking royal prince..." Serenity whispered. His hand came to her
cheek, and her's rushed up to stop him. Their first physical contact
sent them both reeling with the rush of emotion. The energy seemed to
crackle in the air, frightening them both. I knew this was what Serenity
had been waiting for. This was her dream, and now that it was presenting
itself, how was she going to take it?

Serenity yanked her hand from his, and turned. She ran from the clearing,
leaving a shocked Endymion behind. Endymion was trying to recover from what
he had just felt. A strong warrior, skillful fighter and hidden dreamer,
he had never felt anything so emotionally complete before. He wanted it,
longed for it, yet knew he could never have it.

I stood watching him, still hidden. It wasn't my place in interfere with
him. I was curious to see how he would react to everything that had just
happened.

"Heisei..." He whispered. The night wind caught his voice and carried away,
but it never reached the ears of the young woman it was intended for.

I turnerd and went back to our rooms. I knew Serenity would be waiting for
me there, so I ran switfly and quietly.

When I opened the door, she was sitting on her bed crying softly into her
hands.

"Serenity..." I lay a gentle hand on her shoulder. It was all the
encouragement she needed.

"Oh Sailorvenus!" She sobbed against me. I held her tightly while she cried
herself out.

"There there..." I whispered soothingly. "What happened, Serenity?"

"I met him..." Serenity whispered. "I met him, and I was so afraid..."

The next day, Serenity escorted me to the court. I wanted her to sit in on
part of the delegation to see how politics on Earth worked. She sat quietly
listening to each and every issue brought up. Occasionally she would lean
forward and whisper something into my ear that I would bring forth on her
behalf.

"Our next issue, is in regards to the alliance with the Moon." The King began.
I stood up, not wanting everything to be ruined now.

"Your majesty, I believe that is a matter that should be discussed in
private." I looked the King directly in the eye, and he nodded.

"Alright then. We will meet in my office in five minutes." I nodded
my thanks and turned to Serenity.

"You go and wait for me in the gardens."

"Don't you think I should be there for matters of the Moon?" She asked
me. Normally, I would have said yes, most definately, but for this...
I shook my head.

"Not this time Heisei." I smiled gently at her.

"Alright, Sailorvenus." Serenity agreed. "I'll wait for you in the gardens."

I watched Serenity slip out the side door of the hall and out into the
garden's that

We had been arguing over the wedding arrangements for quite some time when
the door burst open and Endymion stormed in.

"I will not marry Princess Serenity." He announced, a huge grin on his
face. Immediately my thoughts flew to Serenity, and I wondered what
exactly had happened between the two that had made him decide this.

"What are you talking about?" The King bellowed.

"I won't marry Princess Serenity." He repeated.

"Yes you will!" His father shouted. "You will marry her when and where I
say!"

"Damian." The Queen spoke softly, placing her hand on his arm. The King sat
down again and looked at Endymion.

"Alright, why do you say you don't want to marry Princess Serenity?" Damian
asked. "This is just the thing we need to cement our alliance with the
Moon."

"But Father! I'm in love!" Endymion was practically dancing and spinning
in circles, and I wanted to laugh.

"In love?" Gaia, his mother, asked.

"Yes. Oh Mother!" He collapsed in a chair laughing.

"When do we get to meet this girl?" Gaia asked.

"Well..." Endymion began.

"No." Damian interrupted. "We need this alliance with the Moon."

"Your majesty," I interrupted. "I think maybe you should hear him out."

"Yes dear." Gaia agreed.

"Alright." Damian sighed.

"She's perfect... She's sweet, kind, generous, beautiful..." Endymion
sighed dreamily.

"Why don't we meet her today, for tea?" Gaia asked.

"Really, Mother? You want to meet her?" Endymion sat up and smiled.
"Great! I'll go ask her!"

"And I, shall go back to my rooms." I stood up and made for the door, but
Gaia stopped me.

"Sailorvenus, might I have a word with you?"

"Sure." I smiled, puzzled. She led me out to the hallway before speaking.

"Your Venusian, right?" I nodded. "So you know matters of the heart
fairly well?"

"Yes."

"Would you come to tea with us, and tell me if this girl really loves my son,
or if she is using him for something?" She asked me.

"Of course, your majesty. Just tell me when and where."

"Thank you so much!" Gaia hugged me briefly. "We'll meet in the sitting room
you were first led to in about an hour."

Gaia smiled brightly and headed back into the room we had just left. I
decided I had better go find out what had happened between Serenity and
Endymion.

I entered the gardens and focused on Serenity. I slowly made my way towards
the rose gardens, sure she would be there. Once I reached the entrance, I
watched Serenity ans she mindlessly played her fingers across the top of the
water in the fountain. She seemed to be floating. I smiled.

"Serenity."

Serenity turned to look at me, a dainty smile on her lips.

"Oh Venus!" She sighed. "You'll never believe what happened!"

"Well, don't keep me waiting." I entered the garden and sat next to her.

"He came back here, he followed me and we spoke... And Venus?" She looked
at me hesitantly. "He kissed me."

"Oh?" I raised an eyebrow. "Who is this 'he'?"

"Prince Endymion of Earth..." Serenity sighed again, before worry flooded
her features. "Do you think Mother will approve?"

"What do you mean?" I asked, knowing full well she meant to marry him, but I
wanted to hear it from her. I wanted her to realize it was an act of her own
choosing.

"I want to marry him... He wants to marry me..."

"Does he know who you are?" I asked her. Again, she looked worried.

"Will his parents disapprove? Will they not let us marry? I know there is
no alliance..." Serenity's voice was so full of needless worry, I laughed.

"Oh Serenity! Come to tea. Right now. You can meet his parents and tell
them of your plans."

"Really?" Serenity asked, hopeful. I nodded and helped her to her feet.

"This way." I led Serenity to the large sitting room where Endymion and
his parents were waiting.

"Heisei." Endymion was immediately by her side, caressing her cheek with
his hand. Serenity blushed gently, but smiled up at him lovingly.

"Please, have a seat." Damian gestured to the couch. Endymion and Serenity
sat side by side, while I sat in one of the wing back chairs. I noticed
that neither would let contact between them end. They were always touching
each other in some way. I smiled, because this meant the soulbond was
active, in full force.

"So, your name is Heisei?" Gaia asked.

"Yes." Serenity nodded.

"How do I know know you are not using me son?" Damian asked. Serenity cast
a glance my way before glancing up at Endymion.

"Father! How could you even think such a thing!" Endymion exclaimed.
"Darling, would you like some tea?"

Serenity nodded slightly, trying to calm herself. I could tell it wasn't
working, so decided to step in and take control of matters.

"Heisei came here with me." I told him. "I know her quite well."

Gaia glanced at me, and I could tell she was quite curious about Serenity
and about what she had asked me before. I decided to indulge her.

"I would also like to add, that Endymion and Heisei are soulmates. That
shock you felt the other night, Endymion, was the soulbond." I sat quietly
sipping my tea, waiting for my words to take effect.

"Soul... mates?" Serenity repeated softly.

"What?" Damian roared.

"Oh this is wonderful!" Gaia exclaimed. "Oh Endymion! Heisei! I'm so
happy for you!"

"What about Serenity? What about the alliance with the moon?" Damian
asked, his voice full of rage.

"There's also the fact that Heisei is Serenity." I added cooly. Three pairs
of eyes stared at me in disbelief.

"What?" Endymion asked quietly.

"It was my idea. I knew that you and Serenity were soulmates, but I wanted
you both to have a chance at realy love, to develop your soulbond without
the pressures of an arranged marriage. I convinced Serenity to pretend to be
my maid, Heisei, and told her it was so that she could see Earth's true beauty."
I looked up to see various emotions shining in Endymion's eyes.

"You mean... You knew?" Serenity asked me. I nodded. "How could you do
this to me? How could you Venus?"

Serenity was extremely upset. She stood up and tried to flee the room, but
Endymion was quicker. He caught her arm and pulled her towards him.

"Serenity..." He breathed, before capturing her lips with his own. Serenity
melted against him, and let him kiss her senseless.

"Well..." Damian was shocked.

"You knew... You knew all along!" Gaia laughed. "I would have done something
just as sneaky!"

I smiled at the Queen of Earth, and nodded.

"They'll be happy, and Queen Serenity has given her consent to the marriage,
since they are truly in love." I informed the King of Earth.

"Then wedding preparations must begin! I must go make an announcement! My
son is getting married!" Damian practically skipped out of the room, with his
wife in tow.

I looked once more at Serenity and Endymion. They were completely caught up
in each other, oblivious to everything outside their little sphere.
