The next afternoon, Misao, Antai and I sat around outside the
temple chatting.
"I did a quick analysis on my computer and I found her name.
She is Ukiuki Migaru, a sixteen-year-old student at Mugen
Gakuen." Antai told us.
"How are we going to approach her? I mean, that school's
for snobby rich girls!" Misao exclaimed.
"She's not snobby. She'll still be Minako in essence, with
a few changes. She'll still be that carefree ditz we love."
I laughed.
Before Misao or Antai could reply, a group of giggling girls
came up the stairs and made their way across the temple grounds.
They were headed towards the well and I stood up.
"Excuse me." I headed towards them, walking gracefully in my
robes. "May I help you?"
The girls turned to look at me, and I noticed they were alla
bout my name.
"Is it true that this well will bring you true love?" One of
the girls asked.
"It is a well of wishes. If that is what your heart is truly
set on, then it will aid in that." I replied.
"What if you want to discover who you really are?" Another
voice asked. I turned to look at the girl who spoke and
was startledto see Migaru.
"Ukiuki Migaru." I said softly. She seemed startled that I
knew her name, but tried not to show it. "The Great Fire
spoke of you. You wish to discover who you are?"
"Yes." She replied, ignoring the other girls, who had grown
quiet and were now listening to us.
"I can help you with that." I said quietly. She nodded. "This
way."
I turned, and headed back towards Antai and Misao. Migaru
followed me, but didn't say a word.
"Misao, Antai, this is Ukiuki Migaru. Migaru-san, this is
Kasui Antai and Kaboku Misao. I, am Himoto Rei." I made
the introductions brief before heading towards the fire room.
I knew I was guaranteed privacy there, and I would know if
anyone approached.
"Come on Migaru-chan." Misao stood up and followed me, Antai
bringing up the rear.
I knelt in front of the fire, holding the beads between my hands.
Antai sat on the right side of me, and Misao on the left. Migaru
opted to sit on the other side of Misao.
"What are we...?" Migaru began.
"Shush. Concentrate on the fire." I whispered. I began chanting
under my breath, calling forth a specific image. I heard Migaru
gasp and I knew the vision was complete.
"Do you recognize it?" I asked, my voice low.
"My dream..." She exclaimed quietly.
"The faceless people, do you recognize them yet?" I asked. She
shook her head so I carefully changed the scene.
"That's you! You three are in there! I don't understand!"
Migaru leapt to her feet.
"Migaru, sit." I told her, letting the image fade away. "You
will understand, but you need to listen."
I set the beads down carefully, and glanced at Antai. She nodded,
almost invisibly, and turned to Migaru.
"Migaru-san, the dreams... We've all had them. Rei-chan united
us and helped us figure out what they meant." Antai explained.
"Have you ever heard of the Sailor Senshi?" Misao asked abruptly.
To any observer, it would have looked like a quick change of topic,
but in reality, it was a well planned out dialogue.
"Yes." She nodded her head slowly.
"The dreams... You feel helpless. You need to take action, and you
don't know how." My eyes were closed and a calm look masked my features.
"You want to know how to help, and I will tell you."
I waved my hand gently. A mundane gesture, but it released the power
within the three Senshi in front of me. I had unlocked their power
and allowed them to access their transformation pens.
"Hold it up and shout "Venus Crystal Power, make-up." I told her. Looking
at my incredulously, she did.
Sparkling orange lights washed over the room. Antai and Misao were forced
to shield their eyes, but I never moved. One the transformation was
complete, Sailorvenus stood before us.
"Oh my..." Slowly she sank to her knees. "I remember everything..."
She looked at each of us.
"Ami-chan... Mako-chan... Rei-chan..." She smiled. "So what's the deal
with the reunion?"
"It's a serious matter, I'm afraid." Antai spoke solemnly.
"How serious?" Migaru asked, having released the transformation power.
"Very. You know the strength of the spell Serenity put on us. We were
forced into a sleep, but now we have awoken. Something is threatening to
destroy Crystal Tokyo, for good." I looked at each of them as I spoke.
"What are we going to do?" Migaru asked.
"First, we need to find Usagi and Mamoru." Misao replied. Migaru nodded.
"How?"
"The same way we found you." Antai gestured to the fire.
"Let's get started then." Migaru knelt carefully and focused on the
fire.
"It's not that simple." I paused. "Finding you was easy. Finding
Usagi or Mamoru will prove to be much more difficult. When I
focused on you, I focused on your senshi self. You know that Sailormoon
and Tuxedo Kamen were pretty much destroyed. I mean, they never
transformed after the transition. I don't know if we'll be able to
locate their power signature."
"I understand what you mean... Maybe I can come up with a program
to find and isolate their personal power signature." Antai suggested,
typing on the computer.
"Yeah, and if that doesn't work, I'll go bake some brownies. Usagi
would never turn those down." Misao smiled.
"You could bake them anyway." Migaru laughed.
"If there's one thing I've missed since recovering my memories,
its your cooking." I agreed. "But we have more important matters
at hand."
"The princess." Migaru sighed. "And the prince."
I nodded.
"We need to find them. Whatever power is threatening Crystal Tokyo
must be threatening them as well."
"Its odd, how we still refer to them as the prince and princess. I
mean, shouldn't we really call them the King and Queen?" Misao
asked. I shrugged.
"She'll always be the princess to me. Have you finished the
program Antai-chan?" I asked. She nodded.
"Just about. There. Okay, basically this will tell us it either
of them are in Tokyo." Antai set the computer down and hit a button.
"It'll take a minute to locate..."
Before she could finsih her sentence, the computer emitted a high
pitched beep.
"Well?" Migaru asked. Antai looked down at the screen.
"I found Usagi. Mamoru's signature is no where to be seen though."
Antai explained.
"Where is she?" Misao asked, with an anxious look on her face.
"It appears..." Antai smiled. "She's in Mamoru's old apartment
complex."
Antai looked up at us, and we glanced around.
"We should go find her." Migaru said finally.
"Should we?" I asked. "Shouldn't we wait until the danger is
closer? I don't want to steal her hpapiness, her life, like
we did last time."
"It wasn't our fault, Rei-chan." Antai's voice was soft. "It
was destiny."
"Yeah, fate." Misao agreed.
"Fate smate." I muttered before nodding. "Alright."
"Should we go right now?" Migaru asked. "Or wait until
tomorrow?"
Again we glanced around at each other, uncertain. Although
we had known each other in both our past lives, we still
needed time to adjust to one another, and to our new lives.
"I think, we should give her tonight. She deserves that."
Antai spoke quietly.
"She deserves a life of peace." I replied. "After everything
she did to give the world peace, everything she sacrificed,
she deserves exactly what she wants. A normal life of peace
and love."
As I said, we all knew it would never happen. Ever. Some
people just weren't that lucky.
