Carefully, I sat crouched in the alley by the Game Center. I glanced
at my watch, then down the street, knowing that Mamo-chan would be
walking down it any second. Any *true* moonie knew that.
"Five, four, three, two, one!" I counted under my breath. Right on
schedule, Mamoru turned and headed towards the arcade. Just as he was
passing the alley, I leapt out and grabbed his arm.
"Mamoru-san! We need to talk." I told the startled Mamo-chan.
"Who are you?" He asked, looking down to where I was clutching his
strong, gorgeous *dreamy sigh* arm.
"I'm Us... Klutz! Moon Klutz!" I exclaimed, hoping the *real* Moon
Klutz would forgive me.
"Moon Klutz?" He asked looking at me dubviously.
"Yes." I said nodding my head. "Now, like I said, we need to talk."
Mamo-chan raised an eyebrow at me and carefully detached his arm from
my grasp. I almost sighed, but remembered my true mission. Sadly, it
wasn't to kidnap Mamoru and bring him back with me. No, I was here to
ensure that he and our favourite heroine got together.
"About?" Mamo-chan asked.
"Why don't we go inside." I said, gesturing to the game center. Okay, I
admit it. One of my secret fantasies has always been to go into the
infamous game center.
"All right..." Mamo-chan agreed, sounding unsure. Smiling happily, I walked
into the arcade with Mamo-chan.
"Hey Mamoru-san!" Motoki greeted. I froze. The artists did not do him
justice. I understand now where Usagi-chan's infatuation with him came
from. He's HOT people!
"Hi Motoki-san." Mamoru replied. "This is Klutz."
"Hi..." I sighed dreamily at him, before shaking my head and getting back
down to business. "We'll need coffee, and lots of it!"
I directed Mamo-chan into one of the far booths and sat him down with his
back to the door. The distraction of Usagi just would not do here. I
needed his full attention.
"Now, the reason I'm here is quite simple. I know you are in love with
Tsukino Usagi." Okay, so maybe tact isn't my forte. So sue me.
"How..?" Mamo-chan sputtered.
"That's not important. I'm here to help you snag her." I told him.
"Why?" Mamo-chan asked suspiciously. I sighed.
"Do you want my help or not?" I asked him.
"All right." Mamo-chan said softly.
"Now, do you know the two things that would really make Usagi happy?" I
asked him. He shook his head. "Chocolate and roses. The red kind, not
those fake looking white and pink ones. Only red."
Mamoru pulled out a pad of paper and pen and began taking notes as I spoke.
I sighed and took them away from him.
"We need to think up a plan that will allow you to tell her how you really
feel about her. Step one, stop teasing her! No more odango. Got it?"
I asked. Mamo-chan nodded.
"Okay, so what *do* I call her?" He asked.
"Try using her name." I suggested dryly. "Next, be nice to her whenever
you see her. Compliment her clothes, her eyes, her smile. Especially her
smile. Girls really go for that."
I spent the afternoon in the arcade giving Mamo-chan tips on how to treat
Usagi, who came and went unnoticed. Together, Mamo-chan and I came up with
a plan that was devious beyond belief. I was quite happy with it.
~~
"I'll go talk to Mako-chan while you get your tux from the dry cleaners,
okay?" I asked as Mamo-chan and I stood up from the booth we had been
occupying for hours.
"Okay. Get her to make a list of ingredients and I'll pick them up tomorrow
after my afternoon classes." Mamo-chan told me. I nodded and we made our
way out of the arcade. Just as Mamo-chan was about to leave, Motoki called
out to him.
"Mamoru-san! Come here a second, k?" He asked. Mamo-chan and I went over to
the counter.
"I thought you should know that Usagi asked where you were, and when I
pointed to you and Klutz back there, she left rather dejectedly." Motoki
told us. I saw a glimmer of hope in Mamo-chan's eye as we left the arcade.
~~
I knocked on Mako-chan's door and stood patiently waiting for her to answer
it. When she opened the door, she eyed me suspiciously.
"Hi Mako-chan! You don't know me, but I'm a friend of Mamoru-san." I told
her.
"Mamoru-san? Usagi's arch enemy?" Mako-chan asked, immediately interested.
"Yes. Can I come in a minute. We need your help. You see..." I began
explaining our elaborate scheme. Once I had finished, Mako-chan had a
huge smile on her face.
"I knew it! I knew it! Of course I'll help." Mako-chan jumped up from
her couch and raced to the kitchen. I follwed her and watched as she
began writing things down on a piece of paper.
"This is all I'll need." She told me, handing me the paper. I glanced down
and smiled.
"Excellent. Are you sure the others will help?" I asked.
"Oh yes! Believe me! They will be glad to be a part of this." Mako-chan
affirmed. "So, I'll drop by right after school tomorrow, and I'll let the
others know."
"Great! Thanks Mako-chan. I really appreciate this!" I told her as I
headed towards her apartment door.
"Oh, by the way! What's your name?" Mako-chan asked. An innocent enough
question...
"Moon Klutz." I told her. Gee, I *really* hope Klutz understands...
"Nice to meet you, Klutz!" Mako-chan told me as I left her apartment.
~~
The next afternoon, I anxiously waited in Mamo-chan's apartment. Mako-chan
was due any minute and Mamo-chan still hadn't returned with all the requested
ingredients. Sighing, I looked out the balcony window. Relieved I saw
that Mamo-chan and Mako-chan were walking towards the apartment. By the time
they got up, I had the apartment door open and was waiting.
"Hurry! We've got to get started!" I exclaimed. Mako-chan laughed.
"You remind me of Usagi." She said. I beamed at the compliment. If I was
like Usagi, maybe there was someone just like Mamo-chan out there for me.
As we moved into the kitchen, Mako-chan pulled out bowls and dishes, taking
over completely. Mamo-chan and I watched her from the door way as she
whipped up the required foods.
"We should set up in here." I told Mamo-chan, pulling him into his living
room.
"Right." Mamo-chan agreed. Quickly we moved the couch and coffee table out
of the way and carried in a smaller table. Mamo-chan handed me a white table
cloth which I spread on top, while he got two chairs. I dashed into the
kitchen, and returned a few minutes later with plates, knives, forks and
napkins. Together we set the table, including a single rose lying across
one of the plates.
"It looks perfect." I told him, smiling dreamily.
"Let's go check on Mako-chan." Mamo-chan suggested. We went back into the
kitchen to find Mako-chan pulling the chicken out of the oven.
"Finished! Sorry about the mess, Mamoru-san." Mako-chan apologized,
gesturing to the near spotless kitchen.
"Don't worry about it. I appreciate everything you've done. Are you sure
Usagi is going to be on time?" Mamoru asked nervously.
"Yes. With the plan I cooked up, there is no way she could be late!" I
laughed. "Now go change into your tuxedo!"
I ushered Mamo-chan into his bedroom before returning to the kitchen.
"The others did agree, didn't they?" I asked.

In another part of Tokyo, far from the authors eyes (she is telling this
as she heard it), a sniffling Minako-chan was on the phone with a
sympathetic Usagi.
"... and then he just... Just... Oh Usagi-chan!" Minako wailed.
"Oh Minako-chan!" Usagi said sympathetically.
"Can you *sniffle* meet me at the *sniffle* park?" Minako asked.
"Sure. I'll be there in five minutes." Usagi said, hanging up the phone.
"Excellent." A no longer crying Minako-chan said, turning to the smiling
Ami-chan and Rei-chan. "She'll be there in five. Let's go!"
The three made their way to the park and Ami-chan and Rei-chan took their
positions. Minako-chan sat on the bench and put her head down. A few
minutes later, Usagi-chan appeared and sat down next to the crying
Minako-chan.
"Oh Minako-chan!" Usagi exclaimed, enveloping her friend in a hug. Suddenly,
someone put a blindfold over Usagi-chan's eyes while someone else pulled her
to her feet. Usagi-chan screamed. Minako-chan screamed, but only for good
measure. Minako-chan stumbled away, pretending someone was pulling her.
"Usagi-chan? Usagi-chan!" She called before falling silent.
Usagi-chan was terrified. There were people on either side of her, forcing
her to walk, and her friend had just been kidnapped as well.
"Please.. Let me go!" Usagi pleaded.
"Just walk." One of the kidnappers told her. Usagi obeyed, terrified for
her life. After a while, she felt one of the kidnappers let go, and heard
a door opening. Usagi was pushed inside, and heard something buzz.
"We're here." The same voice said. There was another buzz followed by
another door opening.
'An apartment.' Usagi realized as she heard the familiar ding of an elevator.
Usagi shuffled inside and heard the doors slid shut. The elevator lurched
and Usagi whimpered softly. As they rode up, Usagi was sure she heard a
giggle, that was quickly smothered, followed by an angry hiss. Before
she could say anything, the doors opened and she was propelled forward.
There was a knock on a door and someone opened it. Again, Usagi was
forced to walk forwards. This time her nose was assaulted with wonderful
smells.
"Where am I?" Usagi asked. I almost laughed at her worried expression. (I
was there for this part!) I signalled for Ami-chan, Rei-chan and Minako-chan
to let go of Usagi and leave. I mouthed a 'thank you' to them and they
smiled before slipping out the door and shutting it quietly. Mako-chan and I
hid in the kitchen while Mamo-chan, in his tuxedo, stepped forward.
"Hello, Tsukino Usagi." He told her. From the expression on her face, I was
sure Usagi recognized the voice.
"Mamoru-san?" She asked in a doubtful voice. Mamo-chan stepped forward and
removed her blindfold. Usagi gasped.
"What on earth do you think your doing kidnapping innocent girls and..."
Usagi's voice trailed off as her eyes fell on the table in the center
of the apartment. Mamo-chan had added candles, which were now lit and
providing the only light in the otherwise dim apartment.
"What's this?" Usagi asked, puzzled. She moved towards the table and
Mamo-chan smiled.
"Have a seat, Usagi-chan." Mamo-chan offered, pulling the chair out for her
like the gentleman that he was. Usagi sat down and stared at him with a
dazed expression.
"I don't understand..." She said as he sat across from her.
"Usagi-chan, there's something I need to tell you." Mamo-chan said, glancing
over her shoulder to where Mako-chan and I were peeking in from the kitchen.
I smiled encouragingly and gave him a thumbs up sign.
"I really, really like you, Usagi-chan. I think I'm in love with you." He
told her. I sighed dreamily.
"What?" Usagi exclaimed.
"There's no doubt about it. I, Chiba Mamoru, am in love with you."
"I... I... I don't know what to say..." Usagi replied.
"Tell me what you are thinking, what you are feeling..." Mamo-chan said
softly.
"I love you too." Usagi blurted out.
In the kitchen, I gave myself a pat on the back for a marvelous plan.
Mako-chan grinned at me.
"Do you think they will be eating this anytime soon?" She asked. I looked
back into the living room to see the two busy kissing. I sighed.
"Let's put it on some plates and in the oven to keep warm." I suggested.
As we crept out of the apartment, Mamo-chan mouthed 'thank you' to us.
Smiling happily at my successful adventure, I whipped out my crystal key
and shouted.
"Crystal Key! Take me home!"
