Serena decided that even if it was just a fantasy, it was still pretty nice.
She was glad she had finally admitted her feelings to herself and it was
nice to imagine that Darien felt the same way.
Darien held Serena tightly against him, burying his face in her masses
of golden hair. He still didn't believe that this was Serena in *his*
arms, with her slender arms wrapped around him.
They stood in front the large window, with the moon casting a silvery
glow about them. They were just being, in each others arms. That's
how Adrienne, Andrew, Aurora and Kevin found the two.
"Gee, Sere! And I thought you hated him." Adrienne's cynical voice cut
through the room. That's when Serena realized it wasn't a dream. It was
real. And Darien had kissed her back. Serena was elated. Who cares if
she's never able to live it down?
Darien looked as surprised as Serena felt. He was still holding her
tightly and could tell she was blushing slightly. He glanced down at
her before speaking.
"Oh look! There's a party going on over there! Come on Serena, let's
dance!" Darien pulled Serena past the four gaping teens and into the
rec room where the party was taking place. The two began dancing in
the middle of the room, trying to ignore their four friends, who had
followed them back and were now staring open mouthed.
"Darien? Were you.. serious?" Serena asked quicetly, not looking up at
him.
"Yes, Serena." He told her quietly. Serena looked up into his eyes to
make sure he wasn't joking.
"Oh Darien! I love you too!" She exclaimed, a huge smile spread across
her face. "All this time I was convinced I hated you and I don't! I
never did!"
"I knew it!" Andrew exclaimed, now standing next to the couple. "You
two were made for each other!"
"Excuse him." Aurora giggled and Adrienne pulled Andrew away from the
two.
"Carry on, carry on." Adrienne smiled at Serena.
Darien grinned at Serena, who smiled back.
"So what does this mean?" She asked him. "Where does it leave us?"
"Wel, it all depends on whether or not you'll go out with me." Darien
replied.
"Uhmm..." Serena looked thoughtful for a minute. "Well..."
"Need a little convincing?" Darien asked with a raised eyebrow, before
capturing her lips with his own for yet another kiss. Serena's arms
snaked around Darien's neck and her fingers played with the tips of his
hair.
When Darien finally pulled away, he looked expectantly at Serena.
"Well?"
"Alright, I guess." She told him, grinning at him. Darien laughed.
"So you two are an item now, right?" Andrew asked, popping up beside
Darien and Serena. Serena and Darien looked at each other before
bursting out laughing.
"Maybe, maybe not." Serena told Andrew before they turned and walked
away.
