The collar surrounding the crowns is actually the blue garter of the Most Noble Order of the Garter. The motto has been changed to the Hanoverian motto, suscipere et finire, "undertake and finish".

The shield on the left is His Majesty's original design,
on the right embellished with a chevron to take up blank space, and
represent the division between the three crowns His Majesty wears, those
of Hanover, Athenoi and Calormen, and the crown to which he is heir, of
Pendronia.

King's Christian faith and to a lesser extent the crossing of two
micronational cultures in Hanover.
