is a nonprofit conservation organization founded in 1982 in response to
the decline of the ring-necked pheasant population. Pheasants Forever is
dedicated to the protection and enhancement of pheasant and other
wildlife populations in North America through habitat improvement, public
awareness and education, and land management benefiting landowners and wildlife
alike. Pheasants Forever's unique system of county chapters allows 100%
of net funds raised by chapters to remain at the chapter level for local
habitat projects.
The Carroll County, Maryland, Chapter #622 provides these services for Carroll County, Maryland, and the central Maryland region, and cooperates with other local chapters, landowners, other conservation agencies, and the Maryland Department of Natural Resources to preserve and restore upland habitat in an area where that habitat is under constant pressure and frequent threat due to development and other changes in land use. Protection of upland habitat is critical for the maintenance of viable populations of many game and non-game species including not only pheasant, but also bobwhite quail, cottontail rabbits, and a wide variety of small mammals and songbirds.
Pheasants Forever recognizes that if we are to have a lasting influence on conservation policy, our actions must reach beyond today. To this end, PF has developed and implemented exceptional conservation education programs to foster a well-informed citizenry, with a relationship to the land and the competence to meet the challenges facing conservation's future. Our beneficiaries include not only hunters, conservationists and farmers, but all concerned with wildlife and the environment as well.

There will be a silent auction, bucket raffle, cooler raffle with a Remington 870 Express 3"magnum, rem choke modified with 28" vent rib barrel as one prize, live auction featuring many beautiful art prints as well as a 20th Anniversary Pheasants Forever limited edition print and other items including a Traditions Field III over/under beautifully engraved 12 ga, 3" magnum, 26" barrel with choke tubes. New this year, "pluck a pheasant" -- a game of chance: you pick a feather and each one costs from 0 to $15.00, and each one entitles you to receive a ticket to win a prize. Menu is turkey and oysters with all the trimmings and dessert (if anyone has any room left).
