I only played a couple of XBOX games today. The 2 that I played
were New Legends and Dark Summit. I found the controller to be
fairly comfortable to hold and use. The layout of the buttons were
not very good for the games I played though. It was just too hard to
hit the correct button when needed in heavy action. The worst of the
offenders were the black and white buttons (the two little ones). They
are simply in the wrong position to be accessed easily.
How about the games?

New Legends |
This game is a hack-n-slash much like any other. A bunch of enemies
come at you and you fight them off using your weapons. The cool feature
is the ability to have both a left and right attack instead of weak and
strong. For most weapons this doesn't matter other then the direct you
attack from. But one of the weapon choices was a sword and gun combo.
Also, the black and white buttons are blocks that allow you to break out
of an attack from the enemies. But like I said, those buttons are hard to
get at when you want to. There is also one other "Strong" attack that you
can use. The graphics and sound were not really any better then what we
are already used to on the PS2 and DC. But it does look good for a launch
title, if it does come out at launch. |
Dark Summit |
Cool idea for a game. They took the "fantasy" look of SSX and added a
missions to it. The graphics were top notch. The level in the had much more
onscreen at one time then SSX had, but it had a lot less eye candy. Overall
I feel this will be one of the better early XBOX games if the entire game
ends up as good as the one level in the demo. |
