We (The Fans) would like Square to include the option for Japanese Audio along with Japanese and English text into the North American release of Final Fantasy X. The reason we are making this request is because of Hironobu Sakaguchi's statement saying that there will not be the inclusion of Japanese Audio for the US release of Final Fantasy X. However, this decision does not stand well with a lot of people. A recent survey on one of the more popular gaming sites has shown that more people would like to have the option to hear the Japanese along with the English audio accompanied by English subtitles. Please visit (http://cgi.gamefaqs.com/poll/index.asp?poll=596) for the results of that poll.
As you are aware, a lot of video game and Anime fans prefer subtitles over dubbing. We do understand that there are also a lot of fans that prefer dubbing over subtitles. All the reasons for both opinions have been stated time and time again in arguments on the internet and in get togethers. Since Final Fantasy X already ships on a DVD it already has the capability to give fans both options. The fans that prefer dubbing can select the English audio track. And fans of subtitles can select the Japanese audio track. Giving the fans this option will not increase the cost to Square significantly since DVDs have that capability built into the DVD format and Square is already recording both Japanese and English audio and subtitles.
Can you please make all your readers aware of this issue and ask that if they would also like this option that they should write into Square Soft and Sony to ask for it. It will give more fans more options, pleasing more of them then they would otherwise. After all, we already had this option in games like The Bouncer and Armored Core 2.
Sincerely,
