I served as an Army photojournalist in Bosnia from March-Oct. 1999,
writing for
TALON magazine. I won five Keith L. Ware awards,
the highest journalism award in the Army Reserve.
Here are some of my military stories.
Two of my photographs were selected as cover shots.
I wrote two stories each week for the TALON and completed 15 Hometown News Releases, which are 3-5 paragraph stories with a stand-alone photo. I took literally thousands of photos.

Shortly after returning from Bosnia, I spent two weeks at Fort Irwin, Calif., working on an Army newspaper for the troops undergoing desert warfare training there.

Then I spent almost three weeks in El Salvador covering the Reserve soldiers and Marines taking part in Nuevos Horizontes 2000.
