The Team

For the January contest I will be breaking the cardinal rule of Roving and I will be heading out on my own! To make this easier I will be running a more limited Rover setup with only vehicle attached antennas.

The Goals

The VE3WCC Rover is planning to operate from four grids: FN14, FN15, FN24, FN25, and be active on 7 bands: 50, 144, 222, 432, 903, 1296, and 10GHz.

The Station

Here is an overview of the planned VE3WCC station:

FT857 for 50(100w),144(50w),432(20w)
HR2600 IF and Demi Transverter for 222(10w)
FT817 IF and DownEast Microwaves Transverter for 903 CW/SSB(10w)
GHT HT for 900Mhz FM (1w)
Kenwood FM HT for 1296 (1w)
Tellurometer for 10Ghz FM Wideband (~100 mw)

Mobile Antennas:

50 SSB/CW: PAR Omni Loop
144/432 SSB: E-Factor Dual-Band Horizontal Loop
144/432 FM: Diamond Verticle
222 SSB: Horizontal Loop
903 SSB/CW: 3 element horizontal Yagi
1296.1 FM: Home brew Ground plane antenna

The Route and the Plan

NOTE: I am only operating on Sunday, Jan 21st for this contest!

On Sunday morning I will be driving to the Almonte area to setup in FN15.

Next stop is in FN14 near Numogate and I plan to operate from there late morning and early afternoon.

Mid afternoon I will setting up be setting up in FN24 near Oxford Mills.

Early evening I will be driving to Cumberland (FN25) and then working my way back to Kanata.

To keep things simple I will be using paper logs for this contest.
