San Gregorio House Preservation Fund

6/13/97-UPDATE: We submitted numerous offers to purchase this valuable landmark for preservation in perpetuity. Our tax advantaged offers have not been seriously considered by the Estate. The property is now in imminent danger of being sold to for profit interests.

The San Gregorio House Preservation Fund is a non-profit corporation formed to preserve and protect the San Gregorio House property in perpetuity for our community and the public.

On November 1, 1996 we received our articles of incorporation with the Secretary of State.

The persons listed on our first Board of Directors are:

  • Jim Schweikert, PMAC council member
  • Tom Armstrong, farmer/local historian
  • Kathleen Armstrong,website developer/non-profit administrator
  • Tom Shuman, local artisan
  • Clayton J. (Skip) Giannocca,local businessman
  • Bill Skeffington,local artisan and ranch-hand
  • Christine Johnston,local health careworker

The mission of "SGHPF" is to create an ongoing living history exhibit which will stabilize this valuable cultural and historic place for our community. Our vision is to open this unique site to the public and especially to children as it represents the lifestyle of a bygone era where the land and animals were an important part of day to day life. It is our hope that by preserving San Gregorio House and farming the surrounding property that we will engender an appreciation of our little valley and its significance as a touchstone with the past in an ever-changing world.

Your support by donation or volunteering will be greatly appreciated.
