All businesses in ComEd’s service territory are experiencing a significant increase in electricity costs. That is because, after years of a fixed price, the freeze is over, and charges have gone up 20 to 50 percent.

However, businesses should not despair, because, by working with the Business Energy Collaborative, you can quickly and easily save at least 10 percent off the new higher prices.

The Business Energy Collaborative (BEC) is a joint endeavor between enterpriz Cook County, a non-profit business assistance organization, and Energy Choices, Inc., an energy consultancy with more than 10 years experience helping businesses manage their electricity needs. The BEC is designed to help businesses evaluate their options for electricity and to find opportunities for savings. The best thing of all—the service is free!

Here’s how it works: If your business pays less than $8,000/month for electricity, you can easily save 10 percent. Simply check out energychoices.com, and fill out the form(s) located there, and you can begin to reduce your electric bills.

If your business pays more than $8,000/month for electricity, you may be able to save up to 34 percent or more, depending on specific factors. In this case, you should contact the BEC directly, at energy@enterpriz.org or by phone at (847) 940-8400, to begin discussion on your specific opportunity.
