• What has the rated NCO done well.

• What can be done better.

• The goal is to get the rated NCO to be successful and to meet the standards.

• Record counseling date on the checklist.

• Obtain the rated NCO initials

• Save the checklist and the working copy of the NCOER for the NCO’s next quarterly counseling
