1. Which Army regulation governs duty rosters?
A. AR 220-45.
2. What is the purpose of duty rosters?
A. Duty rosters are kept for recording the duty performed by each person in an organization is order to make an equitable determination of duty assignments.
3. How is the "From" date determined when filling out a duty roster?
A. The "From" date will always be the date immediately following the "To" date on the previous roster and will be entered at the time the new roster is prepared.
4. How is the "To" date determined when filling out a duty roster?
A. The "To" date will always be the date of the last detail made from such a roster and will be entered when the roster is closed.
5. Which DA Form is used for duty rosters?
A. DA Form 6.
6. Will dates be entered for any day the detail was not made?
A. No.
7. When a new duty roster is prepared, how will names be entered?
A. Alphabetically with pay grade, beginning with the highest pay grade.
8. How are subsequent names added to the duty roster?
A. Subsequent names will be added at the foot of the roster.
9. How is it determined who pulls the duty?
A. Generally, the person longest off the duty will be the next person detailed. When such person is not available, the person on the roster who is next longest off that duty will be detailed.
10. When the letter "A"" is used in place of a person's number on the DA Form 6, what does it designate?
A. It designates those who are absent or otherwise not available because of leave, pass, special duty, illness in line of duty, or other authorized reason not due to misconduct.
11. When is the letter "D" used when referring to a duty roster?
A. Those eligible for detail who could not be selected because of previous detail or other duty will be indicated by the letter "D".
12. When is the letter "U" entered on a duty roster?
A. Those not available because of being absent without leave, sick not in the line of duty, or otherwise not available as a result of their own misconduct will be indicated by the letter "U".
13. How do the letters "A", "D", and "U", affect the numbering sequence on a duty roster?
A. 1) Whenever the abbreviation "A" is used, the numbering sequence of days off will be interrupted.
2) Whenever the abbreviations "D" and "U" are used, the numbering sequence will continue and the appropriate number will be included with the abbreviation.
14. How should weekend / holiday duty rosters be maintained?
A. Consolidated weekday-weekend-holiday duty rosters will be maintained whenever practicable in accordance with Chapter 9, AR 220-45.
15. Numbers in parenthesis after a soldier's name indicates what?
A. It indicates explanatory remarks which are entered on reverse of DA Form 6.
