The Tomball Cougar's have been hit with injuries and ineligibles, but the program continues to roll. Sophomore Dustin Rasco, who moved up from the JV last week to play third base, went 3-3 with a run. He is batting .556 since being moved to the Varsity. Junior Dustin Pitchford has made a smooth transition to shortstop after Senior starter Robert Dittrich went down with a broken wrist on Tuesday. Pithford was 2-4 with 2 RBI and rolled two 4-6-3 double plays, the last one to end the game. Junior Chris Butsch, also a late season call up from the JV, went 2-3. Troy Patton went the distance for the win to improve his record to 8-0. He allowed 4 hits and struck out 10 to seal the victory. Tonight was the last home game of the year for Tomball, as they will finish the season on the road Tuesday @ Spring and Friday @ Klein Oak. These two games will determine the Cougar's playoff schedule.
