To Whom it May Concern:

I respectfully submit this letter in behalf of Thomas Andrew Blickhahn.
My name is Rebecca E. Loften, and Mr. Blickhahn is my ex-husband.
We share joint custody of our eleven-year old son Michael.

I would like to request that you grant Mr. Blickhahn’s request
for a probationary driver’s license for the following reasons:

1.	Tom will not be able to continue in his present job if he is unable
to drive to and from work and to sites for real estate appraisals.

2.	Tom would have a very difficult time finding another position in
Morgan County if he is unable to at least drive to and from his job.

3.	Tom pays court ordered child support and is responsible for paying
for our son Michael’s insurance coverage. If Tom is not employed,
he will be unable to fulfill these financial obligations.

4.	Our son Michael is schizophrenic and has Attention Deficit
Hyperactivity Disorder. He currently takes three different
medications to control these disorders, as well as synthroid for
hypothyroidism. In addition to the medications, he needs periodic
blood tests, and he sees a psychologist and a psychiatrist on a
 	regular basis.

5.	Michael recently experienced some serious behavioral problems at
school. Another relapse of this nature may require
rehospitalization at Children’s Hospital in Denver.

6.	If Tom cannot work and is unable to maintain his current residence,
Michael’s mental well-being could be adversely affected by loss of a
secure environment when he visits his father.

I realize that Tom’s recent driving problems were of a very
serious nature, but I believe that the fines, jail time, and
community service have had a profound effect. The loss of any
type of driver’s license for the past three months has affected
his job and financial situation. I am more than willing to
transport Michael to and from his father’s home for visitations
so Tom would not have to drive to pick up or bring our son to
my home or to take him anywhere unless a medical emergency arose.

Please grant his request for a probationary license. Thank you
for taking time to listen to and evaluate my reasons for aiding
in this request.

Sincerely,

(signature here on original document)

Rebecca E. Loften
