1999-2000
PORTLAND JAILBLAZERS
59-23
Lost 3-4 in Western Conference Finals
* Had 10 Lottery Picks on the roster, the most in the NBA
*Finished the regular season 59-23, 3rd place in the West Conference
*Overmatched the 6th Seeded Minnesota Timberwolves  in the first round of the playoffs 3-1, despite two triple-doubles in four games from KG who was then known as "THA KID", Garnett was also 1 assist shy of a 3rd triiple-double in game 4.
*Ass-raped the Utah Jazz 4-1 in Round 2, outscoring the Jazz by 14.5 points per game in the four victories.
*In the early stages of what later became known as a league-wide conspricacy to bring glory back to Los Angeles, the Blazers fell to the Laker 4-3 in the Western Conference Finals.
Notable moments from the series:
Portland's best player, Rasheed Wallace, was ejected from game 2 for looking at the official (while saying nothing).  'Sheed had set the NBA record for technical fouls in the regular season that year, racking up an untouchable  41, shattering the season highs of Dennis Rodman and Charles Barkley.  But this was bullshit.
*Rasheed flat-out outplayed both Shaquille O'Neal and Kobe Bryant throughout the series, averaging 25ppg over the last 6 games of the series, leading many to believe he was bringing home the trophy and solidifying his claim as one of the best power forwards of all-time.
*Portland was outscored 31-13 in the fourth quarter of game 7, an 89-84 loss.  Interestingly enough, LA shot 37 free throws in the game to Portland's 16.  Sheed couldn't get a call down the stretch, and I have to wonder if the referees really had it out for him.
*People everywhere really start to hate Kobe Bryant even more than they already did.

Played the first half of the season as Brian Grant's backup, while Grant went on to be the only Blazer to make the All-Star team that season.  By the end of the season and the playoffs, The Blazers were forced to sit their all-star, Grant, on the bench because of Rasheed's great play.and the need to move their emerging star into the starting lineup.  Amassed a simply amazing 41 technical fouls in one season, probably the only record that will never be broken in our lifetimes.
