Callic Spring/Summer Show Dates:
MARCH 31ST @ the stomping ground, Essex Junction - 7:00
MAY 14TH @ the Echo center, Burlington - 7:00
JUNE 2ND @ Spring Fest '06, Essex - 10:00
(more dates to be added soon)
-6/3/06- That Spring Fest was pretty dang super. The rain held out which was a definite plus. And even though the organizers cut our set short because it was getting late, it was still a good time. Also, rumors were going around that the Spring Fest show was our last hurrah... these rumors are false. We will be playing and recording throughout the summer. We don't currently have another show lined up right now and we may get a new drummer, but we shall still exist! And Scotia is close to done. Everyone hang tight until we have some updates. Ciao. -5/14/06- Thanks to those who came out to our Echo show. I know the fact that it was a sunday/mother's day and in Burlington made it harder to get to... (Jeff from Eye For An Eye skipped work just to see it) ...but thanks to those who were able to. And for those who werent... SPRING FEST 2006: When? June 2nd, 6:00-11:00 (Callic at 10:00). Where? Essex (in between the 1820 Coffee House and the Essex Outlets) *And it's FREE* Also, thanks to the numerous people who took pictures and filmed the show. All of the footage taken at that show will be mixed with the stereo audio Jeremey recorded so we can make a live DVD which you might see in a few months. Also, Scotia might not be done in time for SPRINGFEST but we'll keep working on it. Keep it cool. Callic is watching you. -4/27/06- New show: MAY 14TH @ The Echo Center in Burlington. It starts at 7:00 I think. We wrote a new song just for the occasion (it is Mother's Day afterall). Also we're going to bust out a live version of the first song we ever recorded: "Happy Zombie Siren Ska." which will be a mix of hardcore and ska. We're going to have a few cameramen at our show filming us from different angles so we can put together an hour-long video clip... maybe make some DVDs. Come see the show (we play in front of huge fish tanks)! In other news, Scotia should be done by our JUNE 2ND show at SPRING FEST. Also, new section below complete with Callic show dates. I'll keep ya posted. -3/21/06- The show is MARCH 31st @ The Stomping Ground (in Essex Junction). Scientists of Awesome (SofA) will rock out for a bit and then Phil Cohen will play his acoustic act. Then Callic will finally have a live performance after nothing but recording for five years. Don't miss it. Also, Scotia has about three songs to go before it's done so we're hoping to get that done with and out of the way so we can make time for having actual shows. I'll keep ya posted as always. -1/28/06- Callic is practicing for a live show in late March. We are also close to finishing Scotia. More news to come... -12/29/05- Thus ends another year. However, a new age of Callic is soon to begin. Scotia is very close to completion. We have about four more tracks to record. Everything is written out and ready to roll. I'm thinking maybe another two months or so till this thing is fully recorded, mastered and on discs. Merry Christmas, Happy Hannukah, Happy Kwanza... and a Happy New Year. -11/5/05- New songs written and ready to roll! The recording continues... We're gettin' there. -10/19/05- We recorded some hot new tracks. Finally, more recording. It's been hard to do lately with all of the side-project bands going on. (Luke, Dan, Andy & Jay make up a punk/metal band called: 'Postrophe. Tavis, Micky & Phil make up a folk band that go by: Folkin' Awesome). So yeah, finally! Some callic time! New songs on the way and we're planning to play a Callic show featuring Jay on the drums. Should be good. Peace. -10/18/05- Tomorrow more recording is under way! Luke & I have three demos recorded and we're gonna record the real stuff tomorrow with the assistance of Jay on the drums and Jeremy on the board. We hope to finish two short songs that link together (you'll see). They're about bikers and the like. Oh, and if anyone wants any callic cds or stickers, just ask. We're here for you and only you. Peace. -9/7/05- No major news here. But we have decided that our next album, Scotia, will be all-acoustic. But we'll still keep it interesting with weird instruments, song subjects and whatnot. We continue recording tomorrow... That's all for now. -8/28/05- News... News... Oh boy, do we have news! Okay, first off: Things are beginning to look up for Callic. Jeremy, our current producer just got a hold of a bunch of drum mics so we can now properly mic our drums (for professional super-sound). Secondly, we have some new songs written and we can't wait to record them (with some guest back-up vocals, ooo secrets). Third, Callic is all about publicity this year. We just placed a large order for a bunch of Callic bumper stickers that say "Callic Is." Very profound, eh? So, we will disperse those as soon as they're in our grasp. Fourth, it seems we may have a drummer for live shows (hooray!). And Lastly, Callic has a friend and fan named Brian who's good friend will appear on MTV's "MADE." So, naturally, Brian will appear in the taping of the show. So we're gonna send him a Callic shirt to wear during taping to help spread the Callic word. You can refer to this as our first real attempt at combat against the pop world (referring to the Callic History on the Bios page). What will MTV do when Callic hits the scene? Well, probably nothing, but regardless, we will post when we hear the premiere date of this episiode of MADE. Check back for updates. Many are on the way in the prolific world of Callic. Peace out, crackers. -8/25/05- We secretly uploaded "Homies" to garageband.com to see what kind of reviews it would get (before we draw attention to it). And to our surprise, it did really, really well. As of now, it currently has a 5-star rating which is the highest rating a song can receive... so I guess it's better than some of our other stuff. I suggest y'all go and check it out! [www.garageband.com/callic] Peace. -8/22/05- Callic is stressin', yo! We need a drummer!! We've had a drummer for some of our previous recordings but we arent sure if we can get him to play live. If anyone knows anybody whos interested, holla back, crackaz!!! Cuz' callic wants to play live like you have no idea!!!!!! Myspace us! Callic peace! -8/18/05- Newish site design. Woo. Pictures (above) taken by devoted Callic fan, Molly McDonough. Another song recorded. Not saying anything about it. Secrets. And we have another in the works. The CD will take us forever, but we're on our way. It's a slow train coming... Peace. -7/2/05- Surprise! Callic did something! We recorded a new song for our new CD, "Scotia." The song is called "Homies" and it's a folkish song (with some rockin' drums) about, ya know, homie things. It's for your everyday Jay-Z/Willie Nelson fan. Also, Maui In Ithaca (emo friend band) told us we have a few gigs we can do with em. We'll confirm those dates later. Also, Bio page done. Well back to writing & recording, wheeling & dealing, etc. Ciao. -6/6/05- Callic is makin' plans for summer. Jeremy has his new expensive sound board pretty much figured out and after talkin' to the drummer we had in the Hannaford Guarantee (Jay Guthrie), he's confirmed for recording ACTUAL DRUMS on our next cd. Weird, huh. We're still writing songs and we'll begin recording in a few weeks. The new cd will be called "Scotia." What are we referring to? The second half of Nova Scotia? A concave molding used especially in classical architecture in the bases of columns? Well, we'll let you decide. That's all to report fo' now. Peace. -6/3/05- We are lazy people. We have done pretty much nothing all school year. We finished Bacon Brownies last summer and havent done a whole lot since then. BUT... this summer we are going to get back at it and record a bunch of songs we've been talking about here. Not only that, but Callic is going to start playing some shows. Yes, Callic is going to crawl out of that dark cold basement studio and play in front of people (or so the story goes). We might be playing a few shows with this screamo band "Maui In Ithaca." That should be interesting. A bunch of suicidal, tight shirt, whiny emo kids expecting something to cry about... but alas... Callic comes out with a folk set? We'll see what happens... -5/3/05- Writin' and Recordin.' I, (Tavis) wrote a hip-hop song called "Chicken Selexx" which we are going to record, and it will blow our other crappy excuses for hip-hop outta the water. We're also going to write a folk song and we have a whole folder of songs we've written and never used for anything. We also know a kid with a mixing board. So all we need to do is make a drummer agree to lay down some beats and we're all set to record. We have a few ideas... maybe we'll get that so-called drummer Shawn to drum for us since he knows some of our stuff. Drummers anger me. -5/1/05- Total site update! The picture you're seeing everywhere on the site, we actually made last year sometime but we were too lazy to take some pictures of it and use it (and in the process forgot about its majesty). Tavis finally got around to it and now Callic is totally reminded of its majesty! It's gonna be the next cd cover. Rock on. -4/10/05- Today, I (Tavis), have something to say. DAN'S A BIG FAT SILLY. -4/5/05- Today, I (Dan), gave the site a little bit of an update. You can say the feng shui is balanced now, so enjoy the sort of new look. -3/21/05- I added "R U Gonna B There 4 Me?" to this page (at the bottom) for those of you too lazy to go to soundclick. Quicktime required. Oh, and just to make it clear... WE ALL HATE EMO MUSIC!! This song is a parody of the emo genre, not a tribute to some emo kid crying in the corner!!! -3/20/05- Updating the site layout with some jolly ol' pics. The Photo section is ALL NEW. We also have a new song on Soundclick.com called "R U Gonna B There 4 Me?" It's a mock-emo song. So go ch-check it out. Were gettin ready to do some major recording. Peace. -2/3/05- New year... new stuff... Hooray... ya. Anyway, Callic has some crappy recording capabilties right now so we haven't done anything towards a new CD. We've just been making songs as jokes (some are good, some are crap. Go to our Links section then soundclick and decide for yourself). Also, Luke wrote a song and had the school string quartet play it. The song is called "Everyone's Retarded (Going Home)" and it's anything but retarded. Go to Links. That's 'bout all fo' now. Blah blah blah... -12/28/04- This hasn't been updated in a long time... Bacon Brownies was sent in - it's done. If you want a free copy just ask. We've had a few practices with Shawn, the kid we currently have as a drummer, so were ready to do some live shows... and Dan has a synthesizer now. We havent really recorded in a while so there's not too much more to say as of now. Peace. -10/4/04- That's a 10-4 soldier! Ok, that was retarded but I had to say it... Anyway... You can now watch The Hannaford Guarantee online! Just go to the link above and make an account and then you can watch it. -9/1/04- We are recording some new stuff with our new studio mic. Luke and Dan recorded a few short weird songs that you can listen to at soundclick.com/callic so go there now. The tracks are called "Grapesicle" and "Poker." They are both acoustic and very interesting. We're now working on recording a song called "Sanchito" and we'll post that when it's done. And we might get a drummer soon! Imagine that. Peace Out! -8/15/04- The Callic Blog is now open. Go now! www.callic.blog.com. Also, Luke found an old Callic cassette circa 1999 and it really sucks! We put together an album of extra tracks called "The Discard Pile." It has eight of our extremely old, never heard songs where Luke plays guitar and Tavis drums (from that cassette Luke found). That's all for now. -8/5/04- We have begun writing songs for our next album which will be released by late October. It doesn't have a title yet but it's going to be about ten songs long and they're all going to be politics related. That's why it's going to be released voting week. But don't be decieved! This CD is not going to try and sway your opinion and/or vote (much). This CD is actually going to make close to no sense despite it's subject matter and release timing. For instance we just wrote a song for it called "John Kerry Theme" and the lyrics are as follows: "JOHN KERRY. DEMOCRAT. JOHN KERRY...JOHN KERRY KERRY KERRY KERRY...." We also wrote songs about George W. (of course), Ralph Nader, Bill Clinton, & Hippies! And that's about all for now. But soon we'll have it all written, we'll have a selected CD title, and maybe... just maybe... WE'LL FIND A MICROPHONE! Oh, and Bacon Brownies is on the way. Cheers. -8/4/04- Isn't it kind of funny how we said the CD would be done over a month ago? Well right now were trying to decide whether or not to include the track "The Secret Of Life" on our album. The reason we're concerned is because it's a Dead Milkmen cover and we want the band's blessing before we do anything with it. The original idea was to do a Dead Milkmen cover as a dedication to the deceased band member, Dave Blood. So were trying to decide what to do. But anyway, were also planning on making some Callic t-shirts with the guitar logo on it. If we do, we'll sell them for really cheap or try to give 'em out for free. We're also going to send in "Bacon Brownies" so copies can be made. One more thing: We also finished "Bacon Brownies: The Callic Documentary" which we will hopefully be able to give out to those who ask for our new CD. That's all for now. -6/30/04- Hey emo kids! Guess what? We hate emo! Guess what else? Yes, the new Callic CD is complete! Bacon Brownies just needs to have some finishing touches added before distribution. It has 17 tracks and plenty of bonus shit. Everything is all recorded and whatnot, we just need to do some cover art, etc. It's sure to excite, so hang on because it's almost done. -6/7/04- Big news......we only have one more song to finish before our next CD, "Bacon Brownies", is done. We will definitely tell you when we do finish. -5/24/04- Yo yo yo my Callic worshipers!!! Callic has started to film a documentary dubbed the Callic-mentary. This documentary will show the genius of the genius behind Callic. We are filming while recording and during everyday life so you can see what inspires us to creat such vivid, intelectually stimulating, entertaining, outstandingly irresistable melodies, rythms and all around musical talent. -5/23/04- Guess what! Saturday was a very productive day. We recorded many a song. We are now almost done with or 3rd CD. Inspired by the new Beastie Boys CD, we recorded a hip hop song that talks about random crap. We also recorded the Message Boys song which you can download on soundclick and make it your own answering machine thing. Luke and I, Dan, made some awesome songs. One is about a mean monster, Mash-a-Gash-a, and the other is about a nice person, Clarence Niceweather. But, those last two songs aren't goin on the CD, we just did them cuz we always see if we can get a song done by the time Tavis gets back from where ever he was. Anyways, we are pretty close to getting finished with our new CD, so you have to wait in more agony over when it will be released. HAHAHA! -5/18/04- Hey, sorry to all of you Callic conesieurs out there for not updating the news or the site in a while, but we have been focusing more on recording our music lately. We have a lot of new songs recorded for our next CD. We also have a few music videos for mainly new songs off of this next CD. We should be done with the CD pretty soon. So, if you're a Callic fan, you're just gonna have to hang in there. -4/20/04- I don't know what everyone else thinks, but I am so damn sick of how congested this site looks. It gives headaches. So I'm slowly going to change the site. It will take a while but it should be done in a week or two. -4/19/04- We were really bored. So we set up a snazzy little store at CafePress.com where you can actually purchase an over-priced sticker! Hopefully in the future we'll find a way to distribute our cd online for cheaper than five bucks. (That's why we choose not to use Cafepress for that). If any of this interests you, swing by the Callic emporium by clicking the link below. That's all there is to report for now. -4/14/04- Recording, recording, we're magically recording. Today we recorded two songs. It was a very productive day. We made a schizo song that took a few hours and a disco song that took a few minutes. -4/07/04- We just recorded another song for our new CD. Its a ukelele and mandolin song about how much Vermont sucks. So, that makes like 5 or 6 songs for this next CD so far. -3/27/04- Hey! Guess what!!!!!!! We have a new recording studio in Tav's basement. We have all the fundementals for a recording studio. We've got some Buddha statues, Ferdinand the wooden bunny rabbit and you can't forget the other stuff we have down there. Anyways, now Tavis's idiot sisters (mine are much hotter) won't disrupt us while we record on the computer that was moved down there. Huzzah!!! -3/16/04- The Callic that you have heard only plays bass, guitar, piano and we write drum beats. Well guess what. The next CD we record is going to have tons more instruments (additional to the guitars, bass and drums, of course). Luke will play the Soprano ukelele and keyboards. Dan will play the baritone ukelele. Tavis will play the electric madonlin. Stuff is going to rock! -3/14/04- Guess what?!?!?! "what?!?!?!?!" Callic is writing more songs! We just wrote a new song about schizophrenics. It's really magical! -3/13/04- We have some very dier and sad news. Dave Blood, The Dead Milkmen's bassist commited suicide on Thursday, March 11th. So, in his honor, we're going to cover the song The Secret of Life and add it to our extras cd which is a compilation of all the songs that weren't good enough to go on our last cd. It will be like an EP. Go pay your respects at DeadMilkmen.com... And we now have someone that can potentially become Callic's drummer, Luke Reynolds, a freshman in our school. But, this means Mr. Roboto will be out of the band for good sadly. And one last thing. After we record the DM song, we're gonna start our new cd, possibly with a real drummer. Also, we might be recording some songs at a real recording studio of someone we know. So be prepared to be blown away soo by our latest and greatest stuffs! -2/25/04- The CDs have arrived! HUZZAH! So if you want one, just ask. Also, we are going to record a ukelele song which will go on our extras CD that you can get from one of us if you're heart so does desire. And if you ask nicely. The song is about how boring Vermont is and how much it sucks. -2/19/04- Our CDs should be arriving in a couple of days now, but thats only if tose idiots would hurry up and not take 7 days to ship it for $14. Thats a freakin' rip off. Well, anyways, all of you crazy Callic fans out there have to hold onto your hats and grit your teeth for just a little while longer. -2/18/04- We finished our first CD, Callic And Megabot VS Snooty P'Tooty. This CD is 13 tracks long with some extra surprise bonus tracks at the end of the CD. We oredered 50 of these CDs and they will be here in 7-10 days. When we do have them, you can e-mail us at callic@Ikillclowns.com. Or you can contact Luke, Tavis, or Dan if you would want one. And one more thing, THEY'RE FREE!!! Also, after we get our CDs and distribute them, we will start work on our next CD. And we'll keep you updated about it's progress.
